(Pictures include what my wife requested, and what the technician ended up doing at Star Nails.) My wife went in to have her nails done. She has been going for 20 years. While there she mentioned need her eyelashes because she hoped they would have somewhere to refer her to. Nancy (The owner) said they started doing lashes..... We paid $180 for her lashes to be done and 5 hours after starting they said they were done. My wife's eye lashes were clumped up and so full of glue she could barely open her eyes. When she demanded they remove the lashes, the tech put so much chemicals on her face that they gave her chemical burns on her eye lids and the surrounding areas. My wife forced them to stop and we had to go to the ER. We had a lash tech reach out from another place and told us she would take care of getting them off for free....at 10:00pm. When all was said and done my wife suffered Acute Chemical Conjunctivitis (The ER Diagnosis), her real eye lashes were burned off of her face, and star nails fought with me adamantly refusing to refund us. Do NOT go to star nails. They are terrible people who have ZERO regard for their customers! read more

Comparably priced, nails are beautiful. Unfortunately the 'manicure' that was really just a cuticle trim left me bleeding on 8 out of 10 fingers. They are tender and sore and very sensitive. Somehow my calluses were scrubbed so my heels are raw in several places but they are also still rough. I'll come back for a fill but I'll get my other services somewhere else. read more

The first time I went was great, the second time was okay, but this time was the worst. They take good care of you, but the quality of work is poor. The older man did my nails on all three visits. This time I got a gel mani and a regular pedi with wax. When he was done with my hands, I noticed there were several indentions on my nails. It was weird because it looked like some oval shape had been impressed in the polish over and over again. I showed it to him and he put more nail polish over it which made it worse, and in the process added two black hairs on my middle nail that are now stuck in the gel polish. He, also, cut one of my toes and one of my fingers. I'm not one to complain on site; I just don't give them my business anymore, but I wish they would have offered a small discount or something to make up for the errors. Like I said, I won't be going back, again. I paid $65. No tip. read more

Nancy did my manicure. It seems like good! But less than 2 days the color start to crack! It's start to get off! I did the manicure the night before traveling to LA. So i was not do any work ! I did not washing dishes or doing laundry or even cooking!! I was on a vacation, but my nails was look too bad !!! Going to Star nails was the worst thing that i did before my vacation!!! I was too sad ! When i get back to Colorado Spring like in 8 days later. I went to Nancy to show her how my nails was terrible because of her! She didn't talk to me nicely! And she said that I am the 4 one that i came in that day having the same problem...! She didn't do my nails again for free! She asked me to puy her again to fix the manicure!! She doesn't even said sorry for making my nails bad in my vacation!! I became so angry for the way she was talking to me ! So i left !! I will never ever go back to Star nails again..! Subpar experience at best. Waited 15 min after lukewarm pedicure for manicurist to get off the phone, personal call, to do my nails. Was cut while she was grinding my nail bed. She put super glue on it! I should have stopped her there. Got a gel French tip which is peeling off 4 days later. After all this I realized the nect day that I was overcharged..... will never return and others beware. read more

My wife has come to this salon on multiple occasions and gotten her nails done and everyone there does a fabulous job. I also come and get a manicure and pedicure and have just the best experience every time I come in. Definitely will be recommending this to everyone that I know. read more

This picture (attached) is one day after getting my nails done - shellac. All of the nails started to peel within the week and when I went back to get the one nail fixed I had to wait 30 min. Poor quality and poor service. Very dissapointed. I also had a pedicure and I left with my feet in worse shape. read more

I got a manicure for my birthday and the guy that did it was very gruff and hateful. He couldn't speak English, and I respected that, but he cut my fingers a few times when he was trimming my cuticles and didn't even blink an eye. Now the cuts are infected and painful, so I don't recommend it for people looking for a peaceful and cleanly experience. Also they were speaking to each other the whole time in Vietnamese and my sister used google translate to decipher what they were saying, it translated into a lot of hateful phrases about me and white people in general, which I find very unprofessional. Doesn't matter if we can't understand you, you shouldn't talk shit about people who are paying you for a service. Very bad experience, never going back. read more

I went to another salon for years near Constitution and Powers. Within a week, the product on my nails would start to chip or crack. After going to Nancy at Star Nails, this problem has been solved. She does my nails perfectly and they do not chip or crack anymore. I am so happy with my nails and get compliments all the time. read more

waited 30 minutes for a pedicure, (still waiting, im typing this as i wait with my feet in now COLD water) because the guy doing them skipped me. he obviously had problem with me telling him to cool the water down for my daughter's pedicure so he skipped me and went on to do a lady who came in after me. i probably will not be coming back to this place, depends on how my manicure turns out.. after getting my manicure i have decided i will not be coming back to this place. SAVE YOURSELF AND GO TO ONE OF THE 5 OTHER NAIL SALONS WITHIN 2 MILES OF THIS SALON!! Normally my daughter and I get our nails done at Anthony Vince Nail & Spa which is a high-end, elegant and top scale nail salon and spa. Due to some unexpected medical bills after my husband got sick, I told my daughter that we could not go to our normal salon as finances are tight from medical bills. We were driving by this salon and decided to try them. I should have read the reviews first because it wasTHE WORST DECISION! It's a hole in the wall salon, dirty and so unprofessional. The equipment and furniture was out dated and its clearly not maintained. The lady stopped while in the middle of doing our nails to talk to a friend who came in to the store leaving my daughter and I sitting there waiting while the nail technician conversed with her friend and went in to the back room. My daughter wanted stars on her fingernails for the 4th of July and unlike most nail salons that hand design the nail art on to the nails, this salon used stickers like the ones you buy at Walmart. And to top it all off, the lady got the wrong color that I wanted and to speed up the process I decided to deal with the glitter nail polish and not say anything. When it was time to pay, I was shocked and could not believe when they wanted to charge me $220!!! That is more than $50 more than what they charge at a high-end nail salon where you get a glass of champagne with your mani pedi and not to mention a clean, relaxed and professional quality work. This salon has a very limited selection to choose from compared to any other salon I have gone to. I was absolutely shocked when they charged $80 for a KID mani pedi. That's $40 more than at a high-end, 5-star salon! They charged $10 for stickers which they call "nail art" which will fall off in a couple days. This store does not post their services and their prices because they pick and choose what they want to charge people. I am disgusted of how they take advantage of people and do business. I will absolutely be reporting them to the BBB in hopes of saving other customers from being taken of advantage of like I was. The worst experience I have ever had at any nail salon and I will be sharing my experience on every review site I can and warn everyone I know to not go here! read more
