I can't rave enough about Starhill Ranch. The venue itself was absolutely amazing and everything we could have asked for, but what is more is that the Wooleys are two people who actually take the time to get to know you and are there for you throughout the entire process. We toured a few venues and none of them provided the same feeling that Matt and Starhill did. First, I don't think I ever had to leave a voicemail--Matt always answered. Second, Matt went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, had everything we needed, and made sure that the venue was exactly like we had pictured it. You can tell that he takes great pride in his job and that for him it's not just about another wedding in the calendar. We had the pleasure of photographing at this venue on July 4th 2010 and we simple just love this venue. Once you enter the venue, you can't help to feel like you just step into the old west with the single dirt road down the middle and the white chapel. The staff at Star Hill Ranch are very professional and make it easy to host your event there. The venue provides outdoor ceremonies or if you like a rustic style wedding the white chapel is the perfect choice. I had my wedding in April 2011 at Starhill Ranch and it was everything my wife and I had hoped for in a venue. Adam is very personable and embraces the traditional southern hospitality that defines the south. He has poured his heart and soul into Starhill Ranch and it shows. You go back in time the moment you enter the site and see the antique truck and tractor as you round the bend to this historic hill country "town". The brides house has several rooms and plenty of amenities. The reception area is an old school house with a spacious open patio and bar/catering area. The grooms quarters is the old Bee Cave's post office now turned into a western saloon replica with traditional props. There are two churches and one arbor area with gazebo as well as an old barn and beer garden area. When I first walked through the outside arbor and gazebo area the final scenes of Fandango (80's movie with Kevin Costner and Judd Nelson) with the wedding sequence popped into my head. When Adam later affirmed he had received inspiration for the design of this area from the same movie I knew we had found the right place. He has moved several older houses from historical districts and is in the process of restoring them. In addition to being a unique and wonderful place with excellent customer service the price was the most reasonable we had encountered in the greater Austin area. Star Hill Ranch is absolutely charming! We had my daughter's wedding here on July 5th. You need to visit in order to see just how wonderful this place is. Adam is warm and friendly and goes out of his way to accommodate you. There is a lovely bridal cottage with plenty of room and lots of long mirrors. There is a quaint little chapel that has a steeple and working bell tower. The groom's quarter is very manly- it has an antique bar running the entire length of the room and the outside area is great for lounging and having cigars. The back veranda of the smaller reception hall stays cool and breezy, surprisingly even in July. The windows that run along the back of the reception hall are beautiful- you won't find another building like it. There are lots of areas to take great photos indoors and out. You could add almost any decor, although the buildings are so unique that really little is needed. Many styles of decor would work- vintage, rustic, woodland, shabby chic, DIY, garden party, or traditional. We had guests from out of town so we needed a venue near downtown Austin, the airport, as well as the surrounding hill country. This is a great place- it's worth looking into! read more

I took my bridal portraits here and it was amazing! I don't know why I couldn't find this place for my wedding but that's ok. My bridal portraits came out perfect and there were so many spots we used! They also have a rental part to rent other items, furniture, wine barrels whatever else you need that I will be using as well. I definitely recommend them! Star Hill Ranch was the first venue we looked at, and we fell in love with the place from the moment we drove onto the property! We met Matt, one of the owners (he and his brother Adam own the place), and he showed into each of the buildings on the property that was available for use during the wedding. I love how the property is set up to look like an old western town, most of the buildings built in the 1800s and early 1900s. It creates a memorable wedding experience! Matt was so great to work with! Very friendly and easy to work with. He usually responded to our emails within about 10 or 15 minutes. We had a budget for our venue, and he worked above and beyond our expectations in regards to finances and helped us meet our budget goals. Star Hill Ranch is much more affordable than other venues in the area, after doing much research. Star Hill Ranch is great for engagement pics as well, and it's free to use up until the day of your wedding (as long as no other events are going on). Since this venue is used for movies and films as well, there are many additional props that can be rented for a low cost, as they are already on the property, and all you pay for is labor to set things out. There are so many things to see at Star Hill Ranch that guests will be talking about it for a while after the celebration! read more

We had our ceremony and reception at Star Hill Ranch on 9/28/18 and I cannot speak highly enough about our experience working with them. The venue itself is gorgeous and offers a ton of options on where to hold events and how to set them up. Main Street and each of the buildings themselves are so picturesque they hardly need additional decorating. There are so many details to take in, our guests were snapping photos all over the place. We had a ton of pictures just from friends and family the next day, and our professional photos are amazing. We have an awesome selection of pictures and a lot of that is due to how unique the venue is. We worked primarily with Matt, who is so kind, upbeat, and reassuring. He offered solutions when I had questions and really put us at ease that our event would come off without a hitch. He's also super flexible, offering options for contingency plans and ideas to make the best use of the space. We also hired Renee as our day-of coordinator. She was absolutely fantastic--if there were any hiccups in our plans, I didn't even notice them. She also had ideas for setting up some decor that turned out beautifully. Between the two of them, our day went by like a dream. It was truly amazing thanks to all of their hard work. I couldn't be happier that our daughter chose Star Hill Ranch for her Memorial Day weekend wedding! Matt Wooley was gracious, helpful, supportive, and enthusiastic. In short, he took a personal interest in ensuring we all had the best possible experience at his property. We utilized multiple areas that enhanced the entire experience for our guests and wedding party. The bridal party arrived at the Bride's Cottage about 10:00 am to prepare and have brunch. The groom and his groomsmen gathered in the Cantina sometime early afternoon. Our guests began arriving about an hour before the ceremony where they were welcomed with beer and wine served under the oak trees in the "street" in front of the chapel, or the small side of the Fitzhugh Building for those that needed to be in the A/C. The ceremony was in the chapel where we had about 120 guests, seating with pews and chairs for about 100, and about 10-20 standing. It was cozy and intimate, but not uncomfortable for a relatively short ceremony. Then the guests moved to the small size of Fitzhugh for cocktail hour. Besides the fantastic antique bar, the caterer created two beautiful tables with appetizer presentations and an infused water table. There was a table with children's activities like crayons and playdoh, a sitting area with beautiful vintage furniture rented through SHR, and an antique bureau that had family photos. Also in this beautiful space was a sign-in table with some vintage props also available through SHR. The guests were then ushered into the large side of Fitzhugh for dinner and dancing. We used the 10 round tables available with our rental package and added four beautiful farm tables to mix with the rounds to add interest. During the reception, a few guests went to the lovely front porches to visit and smoke cigars, even though it had started to rain by that time. All the buildings are beautifully restored to best enhance the character of the original architecture. AND the air conditioning works extremely well, so don't be concerned about the heat being a stumbling block for a typical Texas summer day. Matt was available all evening, and our coordinator called on him once or twice to adjust the A/C, etc. I might recommend using a coordinator that has a lot of experience at this venue as it offers such a variety of spaces that can be utilized in very creative ways that is probably discovered mostly by experience. I also recommend renting any necessary dishes/glasses/linens through Matt for convenience regarding deliveries and pickups. Our guests are still talking about how interesting and charming this venue was for a wedding. While Star Hill Ranch looks very rustic at first appearance, our daughter's wedding was a bit casual, a bit vintage, yet with some classy elegance thrown in for good measure. I have no doubt that an extremely elegant event could be created in the spaces at Star Hill Ranch. read more

My family visited this venue for a wedding. We can honestly say it was the best experience we've had at a semi-formal event. There's multiple facilities along a short "main street" that afford an Old West feel while providing modern necessities. The bridal and groom parties were able to prep on-site while the guests waited in the small chapel for the ceremony. After the ceremony, we walked over to the reception hall for a buffet style dinner. The layout facilitated the flow of guests with ease and then adapted to allow for plenty of dance floor. We were recently married at Star Hill Ranch and it is a wonderful venue. It is picturesque and has a truly unique atmosphere that my husband and I both loved from the first visit. All of the buildings have been moved from small towns around Texas (schoolhouse, chapel, post office which serves as the groom's room) and have been repurposed into the various halls that the venue offers. Don't worry, they all have A/C. The bride's cottage offers a full kitchen, bath (with a clawfoot tub) and a bedroom. It made for a great place for me and my gals to get ready. We had our ceremony outside in the gazebo and our reception was in the schoolhouse. Plenty of room for our wedding (about 120 guests) and lots of places for our guests to explore. We used the chapel as a photobooth area and didn't need the larger hall though did take some great pictures on the porch. Adam and his brother Matt, who own and work at the venue, were great and really, their customer service made this venue perfect. They let us visit the venue for walkthroughs without the need to schedule during the week. We wanted the flexibility to bring in our own food and drink which is another reason we chose Star Hill, no vendor restrictions. They have a full-service catering area that made it easy for our caterers to get everything ready. They included tables and chairs for no extra fees and allowed us to walkthrough their prop storage (they also have a cool prop business) for anything we would want to use as décor. When you book the venue, it starts at 8am and ends at midnight which gave our coordinator and vendors plenty of time for setup. The price point is great, especially with the freedom they give you. We worked mostly with Adam about any questions we had leading up to the wedding and Matt was on-site day of for anything we needed. My daughter had her wedding at Star Hill Ranch in April and it was FABULOUS!!! Our guests all talked about it for weeks...really! If you want a truly unique place, this is it. The ceremony was outside at The Arbor, the cocktail hour was on the street and guests went in the Old Post Office for drinks and into The Little Chapel to sign the guest book, view our slide show, get an appetizer and look at their table assignments. We also had passed appetizers out on the street. The dinner was in The School House which is absolutely adorable. Then we moved across the street for the cake and reception in The Fitzhugh Chapel/Hall. Guests could go outside and mingle or come in and visit or dance. At the end of the evening the bride and groom were sent off with sparklers, which many venues will not allow. The owner Adam is so nice and accommodating. I don't think the word 'no' is in his vocabulary. If you don't want the standard 'cookie cutter' wedding, this is your place. read more

My niece got married at Star Hill Ranch on July 5, 2014. Adam and everyone else we dealt with could not have been more accommodating, they truly want your day to be special. If we had a question they got right back with us, if we needed something attended to they were always right on it. Using our own vendors was not a problem, which is sometimes hard to find. Star Hill Ranch was a great venue. We used the reception hall for a boys high school graduation party. We used the inside to serve food and had a casino set up. The porch was awesome. Although it was a hot May day, it was nice on the porch. The party was for friends and family and everyone had a great time. What a unique and authentic venue with re-purposed buildings that have history! The buildings are well-maintained, very clean, have good lighting options, and spacious enough to hold large meetings (we had a seated event with about 80 people; not at tables; in the 'reception hall'). I love that the owner saved these old buildings (e.g. old Texas schoolhouse, post office, etc.) and relocated them to one place for people to appreciate in a new light. Star Hill Ranch was a great venue for our wedding. They do not offer full packages where they handle it all, but if you put in the legwork you get this whole little town and all of the buildings in it, which really was a pleasant experience as everyone there was our guests and we had free reign to hang out where we felt like. They have buildings for all stages of your wedding and have spots both indoors and outdoors for the ceremony itself. Further, they are there for furniture rentals, and to help set-up and clean-up. Matt was great to work with, and gives you his contact info for any and all questions you might have, and gave us great recommendations on contractors to help. Our only qualm was there were some discrepancies in things they said they would provide free of charge initially, versus as the date got close, but Matt worked with us and it became a non-issue. All in all, the day of went very smooth and everything was perfectly manicured, which was impressive as Hurricane Harvey had hit the weekend before. All in all we would recommend Star Hill Ranch for your wedding. read more
