As one can imagine they are on a very limited income and need help when they can get it. I called and spoke with Dale Kaufman and he was very condescending and insisting on a prohibitive $100 fee just to come out to the house. As the son I was willing to pay the extortion-oops I mean estimate fee even though I wasn't happy with it. Dale hung up on me. Completely unprofessional and the fact that they are willing to gouge vulnerable senior citizens is really quite alarming. Yeah... they MAY be able to give you a nice remodeled kitchen but at what cost? Negative karma points here for sure. Shame on them.

He told us he's going to make it right and even sent people out to assess the damage and determine what it would take to remove the staining from the ceiling. This dragged on forever; in the meantime, additional rainstorms showed that they had not properly flashed around the skylights. They did fix those issues, including replacing one of the skylights at no cost. But the ceiling issue was never resolved. It dragged on for years, and we tried to be understanding and patient. We heard claims that the insurance company would be involved to help rectify. Nothing came of it, and our texts were soon ignored. The ceilings are still water-stained.

Then he calls me and proceeds to tell me that "contractors don't like to work with owners as generals" to that I replied with "well, we have been trying to find a general, but it was too far above our budget to include that as well". Then he proceeded to ask questions, which is fair, but in a condescending tone and with zero respect. Once I sent him our approved plans, he sent a list of aggressive questions without any context or having bothered to look at our plans. I was ready to give our business to this company, but could not believe how he was interacting with me. I'm sure he expected a man to answer the phone and when it was a woman, he felt that he could speak to me however he pleased. I hope he learns from this experience and treats potential customers with more respect next time.

I straight up photoshopped my house colors on and they helped me achieve my vision. From the consultation - Evan and Travis gave me a lot of their time, answered all my questions, and didn't make me feel rushed. I felt super heard and like they were there to help me understand! I chose a paint and remodel company because I have a 1930s craftsman home and wanted its beauty and character preserved and enhanced - I knew a regular paint company wouldn't accomplish that. Then came the actual painting. I think I had them try like 10 different swatches and I changed my mind half a dozen times up until the last minute. The crews (led by Jeromy, Richard, and Jason) were all incredibly patient, warm, and friendly. Even when I panicked over my bold choices halfway through the painting, they were calm and easygoing (while still doing diligent and quality work). The guys on the crews were painters and carpenters capable of repairs and rebuilding my wooden porch railing. I will honestly miss seeing the guys around because everyone was so nice! My house has not been updated since 1995 and we…read moreare on a limited budget and I was very nervous about talking to a contractor when I could not do a big project at 1 time. Jorge came over and we talked about how the process worked, how we could break up what I wanted done into smaller more affordable chunks. He was extremely flexible with me being able to add things to be done, at a reasonable price, with reasonable notice-for scheduling. So far He has taken down the track lighting in the kitchen and replaced it recessed led lighting which is amazing by itself and has made my kitchen look brand new. He has replaced the hall lighting with the same kind of lights which allow me to see much better, less hazardous. He has replaced the vanity large, bulky, oversized, old light with a sleek new stylish light, which led me to see I also needed to replace the fan light in the bathroom, the sink and faucet. Now he is repairing some cabinet doors and will patch a wall area, install a toilet paper hanger. We are working towards blinds for the windows, lighting for the living room and flooring for the house. The work he has done is excellent quality and is a huge value add both financially and lifestyle/comfortwise. He has had excellent advice and ideas and has also listened to what I want and offered pros and cons while still being respectful.
