So glad I found Star Boarding Kennel! This is such a serene facility on a ranch near Castle Rock. My dog Clyde had a great time and I had peace of mind knowing he was at a safe place that truly cares for the dogs. The prices are much lower than at other overnight kennels, too. Manager Bailey was terrific and called with a reminder the week before our reservation and also called the vet direct to get Clyde's records. I also love the fact that this kennel is a non-profit organization and that proceeds go back to 4Paws4Life, their rescue program. This is now our go-to kennel! Thank you to Bailey and the team at Star Boarding! read more

Amazing staff! Excellent communication and we know they love our pets as much as we do

I was recommended this kennel by my boyfriend who had been bringing his 2 dogs there for years. He knew that my 2 dogs didn't have a history of boarding and I was nervous doing it for our vacation, due to my dogs being reactive with new people and places. He assured me they were great with all types of dogs and he was absolutely right! I will definitely be boarding there for all my future needs! read more

Bailee and her team took great care of my dog while we were away on vacation. I highly recommend them

Our dogs love coming here. The staff is so nice and our dogs are treated so well. We wouldn't board them anywhere else. 5 stars! Highly recommend. read more

The staff was very nice and professional. They took great care of my dogs while they were boarded.

This is the only place we will leave our dogs. The place is clean and well maintained, and the people are even better. Our pups get tons of love and attention during their stay. Thank you for caring for our babies. read more

Love this place. The people are so nice. Reasonable and for a great cause. Thank you for taking care of our Bella.

We can always count on Star Boarding to help when we need to board our dogs. Bailee is easy to work with and makes sure our pups are happy and healthy while we are away. It's nice to know they can all be kenneled together and have plenty of exercise while they are there. Great experience as always. Thanks Star Boarding! MClements read more

This was my first time boarding & it was overall a great experience. I only rated 4 stars because I would have enjoyed an update during my dogs stay, or a little more information about her stay upon pick up. She seemed quite happy & exhausted, which is always a plus. I would use them/recommend them in the future!! read more

Great and caring staff. Our kids love going to see the potbelly pig, goats and llamas! We have the staff walk our dog everyday to get him out and around the farm. Always have had a great experience! read more

4P4L boarding facility has been beyond catering to my senior dogs during their boarding stays. They have had no issues giving medications to the unruly pack. I'm very appreciative of their experience and professionalism. We are very happy to have found them! read more

Star Boarding, or 4Paws 4 Life, is a wonderful organization. Primarily committed to rescue - ensuring dogs escape conflict in other states and find loving forever homes - they do amazing work. As such, they are a trusted place for our dogs to call home while we are out of town. Supporting this organization by boarding your dog here helps the other dogs in need too. Great combo! read more

We've been taking our dogs to Star Boarding (4P4L Rescue & Boarding) for a few years now. Our dogs are happy to go in and happy when we pick them up. Can't beat that! read more

What a great experience! I felt I needed a new boarding facility for my dog and been searching for some time. I toured the facility in advance of a trip. I found it to be clean, well cared for and the dogs were relaxed and calm. The individual kennels are good sized. You can specify walks once or twice a day. They also offer baths, nail trims and nail grinding on pick up day. Today I picked up my best friend and he was relaxed, clean and happy. What a great experience! Star Boarding is a keeper. read more

Star Boarding Kennel is our go-to for boarding our German Shepherd when we travel. Our daughter even worked there for a time during high school, so we can attest to the quality care the animals receive (excellent). The staff is professional and attentive, and our guy always comes home happy and healthy. You can add on additional services too - we typically buy a daily walk (you can ask for two a day) - since he is not good with other dogs - as well as a bath before pickup. If your dog gets along well with others, they will turn him/her out with others for playtime daily. Beautiful setting and quality care. Highly recommend. read more

Good kennel. Crazy pricing really. They are open from 9-10 & 3:30-5pm on Sunday. After 3:00pm they charge you for a full day. So if you really if you don't pick up by 10am they are closed until past the cut off time for the next days charge. Why not just change the next day charge to 4:00 or move it up to 10am. Kinda silly the way it sits now. EDIT: Gave my dog kennel cough read more

Great place to board our dog. They care about the dogs here for sure and are very accommodating.

Big separated runs with concrete floors . They allow you to bring elevated cots or dog beds to make your buddy more comfortable . Bedding that can get damp on the ground does not work . They also allow you to bring your own food ( extra surcharge )and get extra walks ( extra charge --- I assume you get them if you pay , I hope ) or " yappy hour" where socialized dogs can " mingle" ( extra charge). My guy never got " kennel cough" because you can EASILY VACCINATE against Kennel Cough ! Go to Cherished Companions in Castle Rock for a good area Veterinarian . Very limited pick up hours mean you dog may have to stay an extra nite , and an extra day of fees. It's a big warehouse of a kennel, but they try to keep it clean . I always take a tour before leaving my little friend --- it's always expectable , though it seems like a shelter or " dog pound"--I try to check out Rover.com these days-- staying in someone's home is way cozier and less stressful . But as far as kennels go , it's well run & clean. read more

Bow-wow WOW, says my doggie. I say it's a great place with great people, who love dogs. Warning, plan ahead and take note of their hours, with closure of their office for several hours mid-day and adjust your plans. Also take note of their "Happy Hour", if your dog doesn't mix well with other dogs, just ask them to keep them out of the "happy hour". They'll still give your dog yard time alone. read more

A caring group of people care for our dog, Molly. We have had very good experience with this kennel and they are very accommodating.

Been here a few times now.....love this place!! My little guy is excited to get there and happy to see me when I pick him up. It`s a family run business and I love supporting the local, independent places. Can`t beat the prices either.....trust me,I shopped around. Another thing I like about this place, is my dog isn`t around all the other dogs all day. I have had some bad experiences with that type of kennel(my guy coming home with a wound). Here, he has a nice big run to hang out in most of the day, and I can sign him up for an hour of play time. That is plenty for him. Give it a try......you`ll love them! read more

I really love this place and know my dogs are getting the best care while we are away. Thank you so much for caring for Stella and Poochie. :) read more

I have taken my bird to them and I can tell he liked staying there. The staff is very friendly and caring. thank you for caring for Peti.

First time we dropped our Golden off there. Nice place, clean. Would recommend! Fair cost for boarding.

My dogs and cats love this place. I don't even live in the area and I will drive the extra miles to take my pets there. They always look so happy and almost reluctant to leave when I pick them up. Plus the pricing is very reasonable and they get play time regularly and nice big kennels. It is also great to know that one of the owners is a retired vet so I know my animals are being taken good care. I will continue to go back for as long as I have animals. read more

I know this place! This is where we take our doggies. (It is very sad I know). But sometimes the house sitter is just not..good...enough. So to the kennel they go. Good for socializing. Making friends. Being in cages. And getting super-excited when the fam comes home from Maui! Wonder how the food is here, doggies. What's up with the kennel cough you have when you return from a visit. Boy OH BOY are you glad to see me puppies...and I am glad to see you too...likewise. read more

Just picked up my pup from a 9 night stay. She is happy and clean. We will definitely take her to Star again.

Star Boarding is an amazing place with incredible people and a beautiful setting. I'm with PawsCo, a local animal non-profit, and Star Boarding has helped us out on several occasions when we had fosters leave town and we needed a temporary boarding set-up for a couple of our animals. They take wonderful care of the animals and are so great to work with. Absolutely recommend this great facility and team! read more

This place really goes above and beyond for kennels. They don't just leave your dog in a cage while you're gone. They have this great thing called "Yappy hour" where they can run outside with other dogs to socialize and get some exercise. It's on 35 acres of land, so lots of room to run around. They offer grooming services too, so my dogs smell nice when I come home. I definitely felt less guilty leaving my dogs here while I'm out of town. It's even better than a dog sitter, because one of the owners is a retired veterinarian! Ever since I moved to New York it's been so hard to find a comparable kennel :( read more

DO NOT USE. We'd give them negative stars if that was possible. We have two beautiful, friendly, and happy dogs. After several visit our 2 year old service dog come home with bruises and scrapes all over his head, an open wound on his leg and flinched when we tried to touch his head. They lied about what had happened. After a trip to the vet for an infection in his leg we pushed and found out he had been attacked by a new dog to their kennel and the employee it happened under would not return calls. If you want your dog to come home they way you sent it don't use this kennel. read more

Star Boarding, or 4 Paws 4 Life Kennel, did a great job caring for our two large dogs. We have never needed to board them before and received recommendation from a friend to try 4 Paws for this last week that we were gone. They got to be in the same kennel together and we paid a little extra to have them taken for walks. Unfortunately, one of our dogs has a recurring digestive issue that occurred while he was boarded and the staff handled it very well. They kept us up to date via phone and email (while we were out of state and unable to get him to the vet) and took very good care of them both. We also had to extend their stay out an additional day due to a very delayed flight and there was no issue on their side to take care of them a little longer. read more

We have been boarding our Alaska Klee Kai dog at Star Boarding Kennels for almost 7 years now and boarded a German Shepard or about 2 years before he passed away. Great facilities, good staff and lots of amenities that can be added to make an enjoyable stay for your dog. Highly recommend you board your dog with Star Boarding Kennels. read more

We were long time customers of Star Kennel, and had no previous complaints. For a recent trip, we needed to board our dog and cat for 7 days. It was our cat's first time at a kennel, but he had a change in his diet that meant we couldn't just leave out dry food and let him take care of himself in our home. We took our cat in with his food (labeled) and all necessary directions written out. When we picked the pets up at the end of their stay, the employees said NOTHING about either pet. We took our cat home on Dec. 23 (mid day). The next morning, my daughter found him in his cat bed covered in blood. We took him to the emergency vet in Castle Rock (Christmas Eve and our regular vet was closed) and found he had a urinary tract infection. The vet called us a few hours later to tell us the blood work showed his infection was very serious, much worse than they originally thought. A few hours later, we got the call that he passed away. This is the DAY AFTER the kennel returned Basil to us, and he was dead from a serious infection that would have been evident by his lack of appetite/drinking, and no poop or pee in his litter box. Star Kennel either didn't pay any attention to Basil or decided not to say anything...either way, it killed him. Anyone who works with cats should know that not eating/drinking and an empty litter box are warning signs. We will never again use Star Kennel and wanted to share this experience to save someone else from the pain that their complacency caused. We miss you Basil, thank you for being such a great companion for my daughter. read more

Very excited about trying this kennel out based on the reviews. Our two dogs were there for 5 days recently and had a horrible experience. When we picked up the dogs the owner couldn't tell us whether or not everything went well his response was "well I guess they did fine, I didn't hear anything different". When they brought our dogs out to us, both dogs who normally have black mouths/lips - had bright red lips. They had somehow worn off all the black skin from their mouths. Worse yet, both dogs had dried feces all over their back sides including one of my dogs having a chunk of feces the size of a golf ball on his back side. I don't know what exactly happened during those five days - but it was completely unexceptable. read more

We have a very high-maintenance poodle and when he does get shipped out, we send him to Star. They take great care of him and really seem happy to see him. He always comes home exhausted from playing with the other dogs. Prices are also quite reasonable. Give it a shot! read more

This place is amazing! Honest, lots of space for "yappy hour", clean... my dog loves it. Couldn't be happier!

We used this kennel several years ago and decided to visit it again after moving back to the area. It is still very clean. The ownership has changed, but the staff is very friendly, and they genuinely liked our boy! I wish I never had to leave him at the kennel but I do think he is well taken care of here. read more
