My loyal dog and I recently moved to Colorado from California for a job opportunity. I have never…read moreneeded a pet sitter in the past as I have always left my pooch with family or friends. However, since I didn't have any family or close friends here in CO yet, I was desperately looking at pet care alternatives for a week vacation I was planning. I have never boarded my 9-year-old Golden Retriever because he can get very anxious if he is away from me (or our home, filled with my scent) too long, and I couldn't bear the idea of him being in misery while I was in paradise on the beach. I found Shellie with 4 Paws Pet Sitter through petsit.com. She is a member of Pet Sitters International, insured, bonded--and most importantly--made instant friends with my Golden Retriever. It was the perfect solution! My boy was able to stay in his familiar environment and still receive the care, love, and attention he needed in my absence. Shellie met me and my dog at an initial consult and was professional, kind, and obviously adoring of animals. She provided a daily activity log during her visits and took some photos of my dog out on walks. I was incredibly excited to see my boy when I returned from my trip. He met me at the door like I was only gone for the work day. It gave me huge relief to know that he was not filled with anxiety during my time away. Thank you so much Shellie! I will definitely be in touch with you again for my next vacation or weekend away!

YAY! I get to finally write a review on 4P4L!!…read more We found 4P4L due to a Petfinder search back in 2021. The dog we initially adopted wasn't good with our cats even though he was fine in his foster home with the resident cat. 4P4L understood and we were able to return him. They had asked me to write an updated bio for him so that potential adopters would get a better understanding of his demeanor. He was such a sweet dog but my cats weren't his thing, which wasn't his fault in the slightest. I wrote the bio and he got adopted. I was then asked to volunteer and become a foster, so we started fostering. A 3 day sleepover for a foster pup is how we started and since 2021, we have fostered over 100 dogs and volunteer at adoption events. While it is so tempting to adopt all our fosters, we know we're just helping them adjust to home life. There have been a few that we invoked the 6 month rule: if we have the pup for 6 months, we would adopt him/her because at 6 months, you're a part of our pack. Last month, there was a need to foster these 2 rottie pups because it was time for them to separate from their momma and momma needed a break. Rotties are one of our preferred breeds! Well, we invoked the 6 DAY rule knowing that the pups would be adopted within the week. So that's it! That's how we got our Saoirse! Even if you cannot adopt, please think about volunteering with us or becoming a foster! A little weekend break from the kennel is what all the dogs need and you may just invoke your own 6 day rule!!

So SOMEHOW, SOMEONE here at Yelp took away my ORIGINAL , TRUTHFUL review of this crappy rescue…read more Pics to prove what they did. It appears this rescue is able to pick and choose their posted reviews! Really Yelp? What have you turned into if we cannot post our TRUTHFUL experiences here? This upsetting and honestly, it's CENSORSHIP! Let me try again and see if yelp decides to censor me again. We adopted a cockapoo here. My mother paid $480 for our girl. We arrived and she comes out to us, UNBATHED, UNGROOMED and she SMELLED awful. She had diarrhea all over her rear end and she was SO terrified, she was shaking and pooped in the girls arms as she was carrying her. It was OBVIOUS that not ONE person had worked with her, bathed her or groomed her since she arrived at this facility! Just put her up on line and waited for someone to adopt her. Clearly NOT in it for the welfare of these animals. Just the money. Never an apology or explanation for this. No follow up phone call to see how she was adjusting. NOTHING. Based on everything here, we DO NOT RECOMMEND this rescue. They are SHAMEFUL!

Abi and Colorado Peak Puppy saved me. And, also, I will continue to use Abi on a consistent basis…read morefor my dog, Chewy. I looked up dog walking services yesterday on Yelp and was impressed by Abi's website. Very professional. I called and she was able to come meet Chewy right away. I am out of town today and tomorrow and she is checking in on 3x a day while I am gone. She sends me updates and text messages photos of him while on walks. My place of work through me under the bus with this traveling thing, but Colorado Peak Puppy helped me take care of my dog. Chewy will be seeing Abi regularly as well because there are times I play in a softball league after work. I no longer have to leave Chewy alone for 14 hours. Abi can take care of him in the afternoon and he'll get his exercise for the day. I recommend this to anyone. In addition, most recently, I recommended Colorado Peak Puppy to a friend and they have had such a great experience with Abi. Abi is dependable and that is sometimes hard to find in small businesses these days. My friend backs up everything I just said and is impressed with her dog's improved behavior since Abi has been walking her. My friend states that Abi must be doing a little training while on the walks. I am not saying this would be true for all dogs, but I truly believe Abi has dogs' best interest at heart.
