Absolutely horrible, so uncoordinated and not caring, very confusing and doesn't update inventory well whatsoever.

Bought a car 2 years old with only 8,000 miles, had to make expensive repairs to pass emissions right away. They had repaired it using duct tape and voided what would have been a manufacturers warranty covered repair. The oil leaked out by the first week, my mechanic said they reused the crush washer instead of replacing it, causing the leak. That is a part worth less than a dollar. They didn't process the title and registration even though we paid for that. After 30 days the temporary tags expired , they blamed the dmv. When I complained they said the salesman and the manager no longer worked there. Never had such a bad experience. Go anywhere else. read more

This place is pretty shady. We saw a price on the internet from a car website that stated that was advertised at a certain price from Star Auto Mall. It was labeled a "great deal" and $2,524 below market price on this popular website. My husband went to see the car and decided to buy it at the internet price. He was shown the breakdown of the car cost by Ashley on a piece of paper that she wrote out. She did not mention a "reconditioning" fee to him during the conversation (because that would have set off a red flag from past experience) and he did not see it on the initial paperwork that she wrote out. He agreed to the price and she said she would type up the agreement. He was given the typed up paper and signed it but when he got home, he looked at it again and saw a whole different price. It had increased over $700+. He called them and they said that it included a "reconditioning" fee. To say the very least, a fast one was pulled on him. Yes, he was foolish not to check over the second paper but he trusted her. We have 3 kids and have had a few accidents and bought over a half dozen cars over the past few years and never experienced such deception. This seedy place does not deserve your business. I went to this place on Nazareth pike to look at a ml350. Jazz was my sales person.he was nice and tried to negotiate a good price for me. I actually walked out and was in my car, when he came running out after me. He said to come back in the sales office. Long story short, I purchased the vehicle for 17500. I could have done better but the regional didn't want to negotiate further. The car needed a fuel sensor so it had to go to Mercedes. I got the car back after 3 weeks and 2 days. I had it one day and I noticed the inspection was way overdue. I brought the car back on a Saturday and they told me to go to the Star auto on 512. I did go there to get it inspected. The car needed to be run for emissions. It didn't pass. So I went back to Nazareth pike and the manager called over to 512 auto mall. I went back they took it for a ride and the fuel sensor light came back on. The service manager there was so very helpful. He took my car in the shop and had someone take me home. He took initiative to send my car back to Mercedes to get the sensor checked. He also inspected the car and gave it an oil change. I couldn't ask for better customer service then the 512 Star auto. I will not buy a car from the one on 191 Nazareth pike again. They dropped the ball and never called me to follow up. They should have had the car serviced and inspected before pick up. read more

I have purchased 12 vehicles in my lifetime, both used and new, and my experience with Star Auto Mall was by far the best. They listed a vehicle I was interested in on line, I called first to confirm, as I live far away (about 2 hours) and they were ready for me with when I arrived. I worked with Emmit and Sergei, and the process was smooth and efficient every step of the way. They gave me a reasonable price for my trade in, worked with me with no pressure what-so-ever, and even overnighted me plates to ensure I received them in time. We had been to several dealerships looking for a van and kept having issues that were due to incompetence and questionable practices, but this place was fantastic. We wanted a larger vehicle, but other dealerships were awful with explanations on why we couldn't get one. Star Auto actually bothered to explain why we denied financing. We ended up finding another van and the process was smooth and our trade in value was excellent. Other dealerships wouldn't even let us talk to the finance department without a fight, but the Star Auto finance head talked to us directly and had us in his office several times, despite juggling several other customers at the same time. The staff was very friendly and helpful and even permitted friendly pets to be there. They have tons of vehicles in their lots and also have a separate lot for overstock that isn't for the public, but they will send someone to pick up the car you are interested in if it's there. I called in advance to set an appointment to look at a truck. The salesman Xavier told me he would have the truck out front when I arrived. When I got there he told me that the truck was at their other dealership. It would be a 10 to 15 minute wait. 30 mins later the truck arrived covered in bird shit. I had already ran the carfax to get some background on the truck. Xavier glossed over a few positives about the truck and sent me on a test drive. The truck drove nice. When I got back to the dealer I asked if this truck was used for towing. He assured me that it was owned by an older gentleman who couldn't get in it anymore and it was not used for towing. I pointed to the aftermarket trailer brake controller and cheap half functioning aftermarket towing mirrors. He said he didn't know why they were there. Needless to say I didn't buy the truck and don't trust the dealership. If you buy from these people, do your research or bring it to a mechanic prior to purchase. read more

I had a great experience here during my car shopping quest. I've been in the market for awhile and often browsed through the selection at Star since my wife had purchased her previous vehicle from them. Each time I stopped over to browse, the staff was more than helpful, but did not suffocate you with a sales pitch. It was relieving to say the least. When I came in to look at my 2014 Outlander, I was able to take a good look around and when I found the vehicle I liked, they took me through the process in a manner that was clear and stress free. Their sales staff was top notch. I initially dealt with Chelsea who hooked me up with the test drive, upon my return, Emmet handled the rest of the process with some help from the location manager (forget his name). Both of them worked with me to not only get a price deduction, but a great interest rate that brought my payment down to dollars off my goal payment. I highly recommend purchasing a used vehicle from this dealer. Emmet was a straight shooter and in my past visits he would let me know if a certain vehicle had a bad reputation, good reputation, known manufacturer issues/recalls, etc. I never felt like he was ever trying to upsell me or pressure me into making a purchase. This is why I came back to eventually purchase my vehicle from them. My Outlander is not only in spotless condition, but it was low on mileage, and listed below market value! Couldn't be happier... Absolute crooks. Told them I wanted a newer car but I still owed on my old car so I needed them to lay if my old loan. Told 4 people this and everyone said it would be no problem. Ten days later I noticed my old loan was still not paid. I called and they told me it usually takes around 20 days to go through but if there was some kind of a problem they would call me back that day and let me know. I heard nothing. A month later still not paid off. They admitted they messed up on the paperwork and I tried to be understanding. But after months of them blowing me off and lying, and the whole time me not making payments on my old car because they were supposed to pay it off, I was forced to file a complaint with BBB. Only then did they actually reach out to me and tell me they had no intention of paying off my old loan. Didn't even offer anything for their error and hurting my credit. So now I'm stuck with 2 car payments because of them either being incompetent or dishonest and taking no responsibility for their mistakes. If there was any kind of problem they could have possibly foreseen they should have told me BEFORE I bought the new car. Not lie to me and duck my calls for three months, then refuse to do ANYTHING to remedy the situation. Absolutely zero integrity. Will do anything and tell you anything for the sale. Let me begin by saying the salespeople are very friendly and helpful. It ends there. Bought a 2012 Lexus which we bought at a fair price. There were a few issues that dealership took care of. Driving off the lot we noticed low air pressure with one of the tires. Immediately called. We were told to take car to there 512 dealership to check out tire. They found nothing. During the next few weeks tire kept loosing air. Took it to a Toyota dealership and sure enough there is a small nail in tire that can't be plugged. Called Taj auto and explained about tire. We were told they would get back to us. A week goes by and no one calls us. After calling and being promised a new tire since we drove off the lot with the nail in the tire. Well, it has been three months and no tire! We are going to buy our own tire, don't want anything more to do with this dealership. I will be taking this information to better business bureau. After buying car I was going to give them a 4 star rating. Glad I waited. read more

However the 1 Star comes from how awful things turned out when I was charged $389.46 from Ally financial for my monthly car payment on a car that I traded in on 2/29/20. I contacted the dealership and spoke to Paul who is the WORST!!!! He was a rude as could be and showed no concern for me and the financial issue I was addressing that caused my bank account to overdraft and incur additional fees. He LIED to me and told me that my loan payoff was sent on 3/13/20. Today I received the tracking number for that payment which shows the check was sent TODAY 3/19/20 at 10:30am. Today is day 20. I have purchased several cars over the years and I have NEVER had a dealership take so long to pay off a trade! So I basically just paid a car payment on a car that I no longer have and Paul refused to reimburse me due to THEIR ERROR! Paul is a liar and has exhibited shady businesses practices to say the least! Had I not of called yesterday who knows if my trade would have even been paid off at all?!?!?! My experience at Star Auto Mall (on Nazareth Pike in Bethlehem) was as follows: I saw a car in their inventory for $10,995 online on a Sunday and was still the same price by Tuesday. So, on Tuesday, I set up an appointment for Friday to test drive the vehicle. The price had gone down to $10,695 on Wednesday. Then on Thursday I saw that the price was up to $11,995. When I got to the dealership on Friday and mentioned this fact, I was told that the $10,995 price was a mistake and it was their error and that they would waive some sort of 'dealer prep' fee that was worth $1,195 to make up for the error. After I had test driven the car, I noticed only 2 things about it: the tires were all pretty worn down (they must have barely passed inspection the previous November) and the tail lights were not working. They agreed to fix the tail lights but not provide new tires. The only information they seemed to know (or willing to discuss) about the vehicle was what is reported on the free Car Fax report that you can view online. They did not do a credit check on me since I decided to pay cash after inquiring after 0% financing and they said no. Yes, they accepted a personal check, which kind of surprised me. They did call my bank, however, to verify that I had sufficient funds to cover the amount. The out the door price ended up being $12,969. The salesperson I worked with, however, was nice and easy going. That said, the salesperson with whom I worked was fairly nice and easy going, but it didn't make up for the negatives. So, my suggestion is: Beware of Star Auto Mall. The prices of their inventory fluctuate daily. If you see a vehicle you like on their website at a price that you find attractive and set up a time and date to view the vehicle, my guess is that it is likely the price will be higher than what you saw online (or they'll say it was a mistake. Be prepared for that. Bring a printout of the price you saw online (though they could just tell you that it was a mistake anyway and that they will not honor the price at which you saw it). The fees add up and you will pay more than what the sticker price says on the vehicle. Also, the whole place seemed fairly run down and seedy with a lot of fake smiles and forced friendliness. If I had to do it again, I would have done more research and looked at other vehicles, but my situation didn't really allow me that luxury. Ultimately, the whole car buying experience at Star Auto Mall did not leave me feeling good. read more

I am happy with the car I purchased at Star Auto Mall, but very unhappy with the Star Auto Mall experience. Let me explain. The used car I purchased from Star came with three unsafe tires, not something you expect with an $18,000 purchase. The first of these tires popped in the first small pothole it encountered. The tire had been plugged and the plug simply blew out, totally ruining my Labor Day. When I got the car to my normal, highly reputable tire and repair service, they found the plug and of course would not even try to fix the tire. When they examined the rest of the tires, they found two that had very bad cracking on the sidewall, exposing the tread, and were therefore unsafe to drive on. I bit the bullet and and replaced the whole set of tires, plus the fender liner that the blown tire had taken with it. A few days later, I went in to ask Emmet at Star for some relief on the money I had had to spend. His response was to berate my repair shop, without even knowing who it was, and go off on some tangent. In short, he refused to stand behind the product he had sold me. Clearly, he sold me the tires as well as the car, and his organization put a safety sticker on the car, passing it with three unsafe tires. He never offered to reimburse me for the tires or to do anything else to make the situation right. All he did was run off at the mouth, finally making me so angry that I had to leave. I would never buy a car there again, and would recommend that you stay away as well. Buyer beware; these people won't stand behind their products. read more

Very disappointed with this seller. They advertised a 2016 Prius c Four with all the standard options. When I arrived from Philadelphia to purchase the vehicle, I discovered that the vehicle was not a Four, but the base model, with none of the options I was looking for. When I pointed out that the car they gave me to test drive was not a Four, they asked me how I knew. I told them I had thoroughly researched the car for 3 months, had test driven 2, and this car had none of the options they listed in their own ad! They claimed not to know it wasn't a Four and asked for the key. They made no effort to accomodate me for their mistake and did not aapear to be genuinely sorry. This was blatant false advertising! In addition, there was another buyer there that was very unhappy as well because she could not get the vehicle she wanted or her money back. Buyers beware!! My car was sold to me with a clean Carfax although the car has been in an accident and has a new windshield, bumper and repaint on the body. It also came with a shaking steering wheel at high speeds and unbalanced tires. One tire was mounted wrong and potentially dangerous. We were able to find the one that we wanted and were serviced by Emmet who was very helpful and was able to provide as much information as he could while personalizing his own experiences to ours. We went into the office to discuss and go through paperwork. A boy named Ahmid working in the financial department had informed us that he will give us a call on a specific day at a specific time but did not follow through on his commitment and promise. Horrible! Took my deceased sister's Nitro there to be detailed. It was returned to me soaking wet and dirty. I had to use my shampooer to suction our all the water they left in it. Al the salesman Joe the sales manager all the way up to Glenn ruined this experience and left a bad enough taste in my mouth to right this review.... I called ahead and showed up at the dealership which they assured me they would have the car I wanted to see ready up front for a test drive. So I got there and turns out the car was not at that location and they told me I would have to return some other time to see it or travel to another one of there locations to see it because they could not get anyone to drive it over. So I treked over to their next location. Test drive the car and said I was interested but concerned over a noise. Al the salesman assured me they would look over the car and make sure everything was in order. We worked out the deal and bought the car. Got in and thought the sound was still there. Told Al who said they looked at it and everything was fine... fast track a month later was still hearing the noise and called Al who said they would take a look at it make sure everything was ok. Brought the car back and they serviced the car and performed oil change and looked into the noise and said nope everything was fine. Even offered the oil change at no charge... He said since it was a large SUV I was probably not use to the way the car sounded. Fast track another month and still concerned something was not right I decided to schedule a service with manufacturer dealership. Listed same problems I told Al. They test drove the car and within an hour told me what the problem was and that they assured me it was the wheel bearing and hub. I called Al who pushed me to Joe who pushed me to Glen this process took a whole week before Glen then told me sorry we are not covering it. I told him but I bought the car with this problem and he said sorry it would not be covered under the warranty. Which I told him not concerned about the warranty as you sold me this car with this problem from the beginning. He refused to correct the issue and said that I shouldn't have bought the car then. The whole time sold me on the fact that if there was any problems they would take care of it. In my opinion they can not be trusted. If they have what you want and you are not deterred by this review make sure you do your homework and have your own mechanic take a look before purchasing in my opinion they can not be trusted and don't live up to there word. This place is horrible. Went to their New Jersey location and test drove a 2016 Kia Sorento L. I liked the vehicle and it performed well, so I gave them a down payment to hold the vehicle, this was on a Saturday. I sent them an email with all my information(insurance and drivers license), also on the same Saturday. So Sunday rolls around and I see that they sent me an email telling me that I sent the email to a wrong email. Finally Monday comes and I withdraw the amount we agreed on, I spend an hour and thirty minute drive to get there and when I go and talk to Lou(the guy that I've been talking to about the vehicle the entire time about the vehicle) and he tells me that the vehicle was sold Sunday. Everyone knows that car dealerships don't open on Sunday. So why lie, this place is filled with scammers that just want your money, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Never buy a car from these guys. Bought a 2008 mazda3 and two days after purchase the check engine light came on. They never did anything to fix this problem they just reset the code on several occasions claiming they could never find the code. One time we brought it in with the code on and they "lost" the code. Eventually they got some sort of code for an 02 sensor but they said it wasn't covered. After spending $500 to fix that the check engine light came on again and the tranny is done for. We brought it to a trustworthy mazda dealer and he said that star auto mall had unplugged the cars battery and reset the whole history. NEVER BUY A CAR FROMM STAR AUTO MALL, the salesperson, Emit lied to us on several occasions saying he would do the right thing and if the car wasn't fixable that they would give us a different car. Where do I start. If I could give this dealership negative stars I would! They are completely unprofessional, rude, and liars. I purchased a car from Star Auto in August 2016. I am deployed in Afghanistan and they took full advantage of me. They fraudulently overcharged me for government tax, title and license for my car, and as of now 12/21/2016, 4 months later, my car has yet to be registered. I have not received tags for my car due to Star Auto not filing my paperwork, so I am basically paying for a car that I can't legally drive. They do not respond to emails, and when you call they will lie to you, or just blow you off! Shiv, the TTL representative, lied to me on several occasions about the status of filing my TTL paperwork. He told me that he filed my paperwork, however when I called the DMV to verify, I was told that there is no record of my car pending registration and my title is still in the previous owners name! When I confronted Shiv about this, and asked him for some kind of tracking number to track when he sent off my TTL packet, he talked around my questions, contradicted himself, or came up with some bullshit excuse. Ron is not much better; he is somehow magically never available to talk, and whenever I requested for new dealers tags due to them taking forever to get my registration done, he told me quote on quote, "you can drive on the expired registration, it is not a moving violation, and if you get a ticket, we will pay for the ticket." Are you kidding me? I even filled out all of the paperwork myself and sent it to them to file with all the needed documentation with NO RESULTS. All I ever got from these ppl was lies and the run around. I am now at the point to where I have to pay almost 2k out of my pocket to get my own registration done just so I can legally drive my car. Pretty much I'm paying double; what I paid them (almost 3k), plus 2k additional to do their job for them! It does not help to be nice to these ppl, nor argue with them. I have never dealt with a business like this! They do not care about their customers and if they can take advantage of you they will! I am suing these ppl! I had received a flyer from star auto mall saying I won an iwatch so I proceeded to the dealership the next day 1/25 now we all know nobody wins what it says and the winning code must be matched to the play board. Upon arriving at the dealership around 11 am I was greeted by my salesman Frank, I had explained I was not really interested in a purchase but for the right car at the right price I might be. That happened to have a scion FRS that I had test drove in the day time but I was not impressed by the quality of upholstery or the vehicle ride. Then Frank and informed me they have a Subaru BRZ if I would like to test drive that but it was not on that lot and he could have it brought over. Since it was now 4 pm I had personal things to attend to while they brought the car over and I would be back afterword. Returning that evening around 6 pm with my daughter they had the brz there for me to test drive. Upon getting into the car salesman Frank was constantly distracted due to his cell phone and stated that he liked this car better but was unable to tell me about any features or functions of the vehicle, I explained more differences to him between the FRS and the BRZ then he could. After assuring that my daughter could sit comfortably in the back set I got in, and looking at the stereo I had noticed it was bright and distracting so I simply sent to Frank "I'm going to turn this off so I am not distract". Then had test drove the car and I was pleased with the experance. After returning to the dealership frank and I sit down to talk numbers, I explained I was willing to pay and they offered to make me a deal. During this process my son had locked him self out of the house and need to leave. Shortly after Frankie called me to confirm they could make a deal I explained I needed things out of my car I would be trading in and needed some time to remove said items. He asked for me to return the next day and I did around 10 am upon arriving the vehicle was not in the same location as the previous night, I did a quick walk around to look at the under side of the car since it was too dark the previous evening to do so. Other than a few miner scratches, dents, and oil over the engin from the oil change the car was acceptable, so we proceed with the paper work or at least I thought we were. After sitting at salesman Franks desk for three hours while car was being detailed the finance manager Ed was able to work a deal that we could both agree upon. After about 30 minutes of signing paperwork sale was made and I proceeded to walk out and got into my new BRZ. As I got in the car and started the ignition the stereo screen said "insert SD card" I immediately went back in and asked salesman Frank "what does this mean" he had then replied I could "insert any SD card". I now know he was clearly lying to me at that point and just wanted me just to leave the lot. I was exhausted and hungry now being almost 2 PM I left to go home and find a SD card. After doing some research about Subaru SD card it is a specific card to that vehicle any SD card will not work, screen says "unable to read card" as well the key fob would not work. At 4:45 pm 1/26 I text frank " Frank I noticed as well key fob is not locking or unlocking doors or trunck let me know when you have available time for me to come down today or tomorrow thank you again" 2 minutes later he replied "I went home I will let you know tomorrow when I go in". Friday morning at 10:50 am I sent a text to Frank "good morning Frank it's Mike let me know when is good for you to see what we can do about the missing Subaru SD card for the stereo, the owners manual, and key fob". Frank then replied 5 minutes after "we can't find the owners manual but you can go on the website and print one or order one but I'm working on the key fob and the SD card I will keep you updated" I then replied "I think the fob might just be a battery" Frank then replied "yes it just needs a battery it's like $5 in AutoZone". Saturday at 10:23 am I had sent another text to Frank "Hay Frank seeing if you guys found Subaru SD card would be great to have a stereo and stuff otherwise I'm loving the car please let me know thank you" Frank then replied "I'm still looking for it I will let you know on Monday thanks Mike". Monday morning around 10 am I proceeded again to the dealership upon arriving and asking where is this SD card, Frank seemed to have a case of amnesia and cannot recall any events that happened during our test drive The finance manager Ed then started going on about how I bought an as is car and then I had sign two papers stating that the car is as is and "they do not owe me anything" after explaining the events that happened during my test drive he then said "he will see what he can do and to call him after 1 pm". Walked onto the lot after seeing a car online. Was immediately introduced to Emmet the Sales Mgr. & the search began. I explained the "type" of vehicle we were looking for with pretty descript parameters. Before I knew it we had a list of vehicles to choose from. Multiple makes, years, & styles. As I looked over the current option, my wife walked the lot. On two occasions she pointed out a car & Emmet immediately said "I won't sell you that car", then explained why it wouldn't fit our criteria. I was impressed. Long story short. After many cars & many test drives I decided on an '08 Jeep Liberty. During the test drive I noticed a strange sound from the front end. Emmit explained that the car was just inspected & as far as he knew, mechanically sound. We finished the paperwork (with another great guy Ron) & left with it shortly thereafter. I brought the car to my mechanic to be looked over a few days later. He found that there was an issue with the ball joints. I called Emmit & he investigated the situation. He spoke with their mechanic as well as mine. After a day or two we agreed on a resolution. They sent a check for the estimated cost of the repair by their mechanic which was slightly less than the cost of having it done by my guy. He explained the reason for the difference was the cost of the parts themselves. His guy based it on wholesale while my mechanic (an independent owner) marks up his parts as most will. Since I live over an hour away from Bethlehem, it was worth it to cover the difference & have the work completed close to home. Emmet couldn't have been more apologetic about it costing me anything, but it was a decision of convenience. In closing. I would highly recommend Star Auto Mall. Emmet impressed me with his demeanor & willingness to only sell us a car that would fit our needs. Very impressive organization. When we're looking for our next used car, this will be the place we'll start. read more
