Third time's a charm they say.
The first time I came to this store to attempt to get printing services, the employee who was attempting to assist me did not know how to complete my request. I needed three color copies of an 11x17 paper, then laminate the three sheets. The manager came over and after I explained my request again, the manager asked if I could give him TWO HOURS. I'm sorry, but this is not a large order, and it's not a difficult service to provide. I left.
Visit two. I decided to try again - maybe it was just a bad day the first time I went. I walked into the store, past the female employee at the register and over to the "Please wait here" sign for printing services. I was the only customer in line.
In the entire 15 minutes - yes I said FIFTEEN - I was waiting:
A) The employee behind the counter finished what he was working on then proceeded to play on his phone
B) The female cashier greeted a customer who walked in after me and told him where the self-service fax machine to which then the male employee behind the printing services counter told this guest he was at the right spot when he walked up to the fax machine
C) An employee was stocking and continued to stock an end cap no more than 20 feet from me
D) The manager walked by me at least twice without acknowledgement
During this time, no one attempted to help me. FIFTEEN MINUTES.
Third time at the store. Office Depot is a 20 minute drive in the opposite direction which is the ONLY reason I attempted to receive service from this store again.
As the employee was walking up to me saying " How can I help you?" I read a sign printed that said "Due to and influx of overnight orders we are unable to complete services while you wait." I told the employee, I just saw the sign and verified she did not have time to make one 11x17 copy and laminate it, to which she affirmed she did not. This service takes 2-3 minutes at the maximum. There were at least 3 other employees in the store, but apparently none of them could help with customers who walk in or in processing the large overnight orders.
I'll drive to Office Depot from now on, no matter how far the drive. read more
