Staples as a whole has been my go to for printing and binding. This particular staples location I would deter you from visiting. I waited 45 minutes for them to print coloring book pages that I was told would take 10-15 minutes (which is also weird) and when I followed up with the girl she said she never received my email. I was standing next to her for 45 minutes and she didn't think to tell me she didn't receive my email? She also knew what I was printing and when she finally received my images she said "oh I should have told you we can't print this kids game bc it's copyrighted". Which she should have told me at the very beginning so I essentially spent an hour for nobody to tell me that they can't even print my pages She acted rude and like she had better things to do the entire time as well. I had to bite my tongue leaving the store. I will never be returning. read more

Staples - Shipping Centers Near Me - Vernon Hills, Illinois

I visit this Staples fairly often for a variety of needs. While the staff is nice and hard working, what you see is what you get in terms of products. I recently visited for stationery - the selection is very limited with no real high-end option. They are sometimes out of the ink cartridge that I need. Also, the return program is a bit wonky - you only get credit if you return two cartridges in six months, so I have to keep cartridges at home while I wait to have two... what a pain! They sometimes are out of the gift certificates that I need - I come here for specific ones and they are not always in stock! Check-out can often be backed up with several people waiting though multiple managers in the store. I have always had good service dropping off my UPS return parcels. I come here to print my posters all the time. The last couple of times I've come the customer service and timely service has been very questionable. The general manager Jeff doesn't know how to do anything and apparently can't get staff to come in. Wasted an hour waiting for them not to even call to say hey your items won't be ready at all. Needless to say I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Came here on a Friday night to print a few things and I was very happy with the service. The gentlemen that were working there were externally helpful and attentive. It may have been because I was the only person in the store but they made me feel like I was only person in the universe and their entire purpose in life consisted of helping me print some stickers on this fine Friday night. All that to say... I had a great experience and would highly recommend that more people start hanging out at this staples. read more

I went here to buy some office supplies and also print the papers I needed. All I can say is that everyone inside was so nice and helpful. The customer service is really great. I came here early just to ensure that I could do everything I needed. I also considered going in here early since I have a lot of papers that need to be printed that I cannot do alone, so going in here is really nice and convenient for me. While waiting for everything to be finished, what I did was buy the supplies that I needed, particularly pens, notepads, and everything else. I ran out of stock, which I also bought from this store. When it comes to the supplies I need, I like their quality. The specific brands that I wanted for my supplies are available in the store at fair and reasonable prices. I just wanted to buy everything that I needed, but I was also able to buy other interesting and useful things that were not really on my list to buy. It is still worth it since it will be useful. When I finished printing the papers I needed to print, I was very pleased with them because every page is flawless and they pay close attention to detail, making everything look really nice, clear, and overall amazing. read more

This place has gotten trashy. It looks unkempt, disorganized, un-stocked and even a bit seedy in general. I feel like I need to take a shower after coming here. Their prices continue to go up, more so than other places with the same or similar merchandise. At the same time the selection has gone down and the quality of what remains is not what it used to be. read more

The print services department at the Vernon Hills Staples earns kudos for their customer service! They employ a team effort and it shows. Sometimes you have a straight forward project and sometimes it needs some tender loving care. I'd say the staff here went above and beyond to get the job right. Thank you for working hard to problem solve, the finished project was perfection! Additionally, all staff at the store are customer friendly and noticeably helpful. It's a trickle down effect from the management who was present, tuned in and customer oriented. read more

Yesterday I went to this Staples to buy stuff for my office. After I purchased some stuff, I got an email from my boss saying not to buy stuff myself and have the company pay for it so I went back to return it. The cashier performing the return was very nice and efficient, but the manager was a jerk. First off it took him 5 minutes for him to come up and when he got there to override the return, he didn't acknowledge me and no "have a nice day" when he walked off. We had an issue with my card. Since I used Apple Pay, the last four on the receipt wasn't correct (it was the Device Account Number and not the actual card number). We tried a few times and even tried using Apple Pay to no avail. The cashier again had to page the manager, this time twice, and after the second time I heard the cashier, "It's to override a return." The manager again came up, completely dismissive of me, and I tried to explain to him about the device acct number, and all he said was "We have no control over that" which of course I already knew. When he walked off, again no "Have a nice day". I received a cash refund, and the cashier told me to have a good day and apologized for the inconvenience. That cashier was a good guy and very professional and is the only reason I'm giving this location two stars and he can teach that "manager" some lessons in professionalism. As for the actual manager, make him a cashier or sales guy because he has no quality a company should want in a managerial position representing their company. read more

The employees were very nice and welcoming but holy crap is everything expensive (Amazon has spoiled me for sure). I had $15 in rewards coupons to use from buying toner and I walked through the whole store and just couldn't bring myself to buy anything I could easily buy on Amazon for up to 50% less! I ended up buying some of their school supply loss leaders like Crayola markers and pencils, along with a pack of dry erase markers just to hit $15. It's not the individual store's fault, of course, but I can't see buying anything here unless you need it immediately. read more

Beware of this store. I have consistently been charged a higher price at check out than the item shows on the shelf. I have taken the time to talk to the manager about a year ago, and it still happens consistently. The store is hard to avoid because it's right across the street from my office, but now I take pictures of the price on the shelf and show it to them at check out. They lower the price without apology or reviewing a plan to correct it. Very frustrating and upsetting. read more

I rarely yelp anything unless it's great or terrible service. The print department was the worst service ever. Told me my order would be ready. Went back. Not ready. This happened two more times. Finally got my prints home and there was one missing. All the guys did was place blame on each other that it was someone else's job... so unprofessional. Seriously the worst place to go if you need anything printed or want decent service. I decided to order business cards here and get out of waiting/paying for shipping from Vista Print. That was probably the worst idea I ever had. I designed my own cards and took them in on a flash drive two Fridays ago. There was no one at the print center and a line 5 people long. No one was even paying attention to the print line until I went and found someone to tell them how long the line was. The guy that ended up coming didn't even know how to use the computer correctly and couldn't upload my design so I went home and did it myself anyways. They should have been done on Saturday but I decided to give them an extra day and came in on Sunday. They told me my cards wouldn't be done until Tuesday because they were low on black ink. I asked them to print me at least 100 so I could get holiday business. They agreed to print 250, however their cutting machine "was not working" and ended up cutting my contact information off every single card. So they wasted 250 cards but agreed to give me the full 500 I paid for next time since they messed up. I also had to redo my design and email it to them with my contact information in a different location so it wouldn't get cut off and I made it in a lighter font. I emailed them on Monday, called on Wednesday to check the status of my order and ensure they were printed with the right back and was told I would get a call back later in the day. I never did. Friday I finally got a call that they were done and that they look awesome. I came to look at them and not only did they print when the wrong back, but with the contact info still cut off. I'm not sure how this looked "awesome". When I asked the employee he said I only emailed him that day and I said no I emailed you the same day I came to pick my order up last time and he admitted he was wrong. They agreed to redo my order once again to finally get it right. Once I got home I got a call saying that my information was still getting cut off and that I needed to move my information once again. So I did. They finally finished my order that Sunday which is a whole week and four trips to the store later. The cards also look like I did them myself which doesn't bother me too much since I did the cheapest option for everything because I will need to update my cards again soon. I do give the supervisor Eric props for trying to make it right, cutting each card individually since the machine was not working, and coming in on his day off to fix their mistakes. However, if it was done right I wouldn't have had to waste so much gas, miss out on holiday clients, or wait so long. Also every time I came in, someone was there to pick up an order that wasn't ready and they never call you back when they say they will as well as being put on hold for 15+ minutes and being forgotten about. So with all the hassle, extra trips, and waiting for my order I should have just ordered from vista print and will remember that next time. The only reason I am giving two stars is because of the effort Eric put in by coming on his day off. Other than that, it would have been 0 stars if possible. read more
