I put in an expedited online order that went to this store as it was the closest to Fort Lauderdale and I'm here on work. they received my order and I was told it would be completed by 1pm. I showed up at 2 and was told it wasn't started, then I was told there was nothing they could do because of a staff shortage, then I was told their printer wont work with the paper stock. Now I'm out all my prints for the trade show I'm presenting at and no one cluld do anything to correct it in store or by phone at c corprate. Ordered some customized wrapping paper from here for the holidays as it was 75% off. I believe I ordered on Saturday and my order was ready on Monday, so very quick turn around. The store itself just seemed run down and old, but what do you expect with staples I feel like it's a dying chain. I dont really shop on Staples but I've been here a couple times for copies and many times for quick and easy Amazon returns. They used to give a receipt with a Staples coupon when you made an Amazon return but they domt do that anymore. You get an email from Amazon. I came here to buy a luggage and found this location super under staffed. The phones were ringing non stop and there was only one associate that was working in the customer service area. His name is Jay and he seemed overwhelmed. There was no associate at the registers to scan my item. Jay called an associate called Sherry and she was able to scan my item. She was super sweet and attentive and apologized for the wait. The suitcase I bought was on sale from $69.99 to $59.99. I was shocked that they have a party city area in case you would like some balloons. They also provide passport photos as well. The parking is free and close to the location. read more

I have been a Staples customer for so many years. They were always my go-to for office supples and even some technology. This review is pretty much the same from location to location: I am definitely a Staples fan.... These days I am just not as happy with their store upkeep. It is not with the team members, they are always helpful and I definitely felt their frustration when they are constantly out of items and the unfortunate part is that it's out of their control. It's a beautiful clean and bright store, but very few people. The store I was in (Tamarac) was a beautiful location and not very busy, why? It's holiday season, do you want people browsing and shopping in the stores? At this rate people will continue to use the internet for al their office shopping (Which can even be done in Best Buy and Costco.). They must get their marketing campaign back. I did not see anything dedicated to Black Friday... No signs in the store. I want to see their flyers back in the papers and hear them saying, "That was Easy." read more

I have been here a few times. Their prices are sky high. But I had a gift card I had won to use up. I still have some left. But I will use it online only. Why? Well, the last time I was here I actually witnessed a robbery! No joke. Luckily the guy had no weapon. I actually saw him sleeping in the back of the store before he attempted to steal. I give the managers credit. They put themselves at great risk to make sure the doors were closed to lock this guy in. I saw them fight him and they are brave. Now I was actually in the middle of paying when this happened. The manager ran so fast to the front door. Later I thanked him for keeping us safe. Sadly, he said this happens a few times per month!!!! The other manager was injured. He had a black eye and a cut to his face. Went in and did not see an item I was looking for. I walked multiple times isles to check before asking a staff member. Justin, a cashier, did not know where the item was so he asked his boss. Told me a wrong isle. Went back, double checked, and even checked the isles around to make sure. Went back to Justin and his response was so vague... it pissed me off. "We should have it there..." "we're probably low on stock..." so I asked "so do you guys not have it or...?" He went ahead and say "yeah probably...". I asked him to direct me to someone because he was clearly not help and he was not intending to help anyone. The manager did come around and walked to the right isle and apologized and even went ahead and made recommendations for my purchase and followed me through the return policy if I was unhappy with it. Justin should really learn some customer service if he's going to be working with customers, or retail over all. I am sure this incident happens all the time and it's not even corrected. A vague response as "probably..." without hesitation, nor offering the extra help made my experience in this location so baffling poor and I will definitely not be coming back to this Staples. read more

Speaking on the customer service of one individual at this location, Monique from the print center has to be the worst employee I have ever dealt with. All of the things wrong with this experience are as follows: 1. I went into the store to discuss the formatting errors I was getting when uploading documents to print edge to edge on 11x17 paper and laminated. After uploading it wouldn't fit flush. I showed this to her, and she said just order it online and it will fit flush, knowing that the document was not flush as a preview in the template. As I'm explaining to her what my issues are with formatting, she continues to roll her eyes and purse her lips, not paying attention to what I'm saying, and just says you can do it online. (Not helpful) 2. While I'm pulling up documents on my computer, she was sent a new employee to train. Brings her over to the desk 5 feet away and proceeds to tell the new hire how much she hates customers and how adults that she deals with on a daily basis can't read. Additionally she states that she'd rather be in the back where no when can bother her. Not knowing, I can hear this entire conversation. What a way to set a new employee up for failure, if this is how you train your employees. 3. The pictures below are the results of what I ordered. She did not pay attention to what I asked and did not even center the 24x36 print, because it cut the bottom off. My 11x17's are not even edge to edge like she said. She shouldn't be allowed to work here, because she obviously does not care and should be fired for her lack of professionalism and poor attitude. --------------------------- I will applaud Q the store manager and Derick at the print shop for assisting me and getting me fixed up, to get these re-printed and picked up next business day. Terrible service. Staff is inept and incapable of following instructions. They don't know the passwords to their own emails, so they can't even perform any remote services. I ask for help three times, and each time was a new excuse on why I'm unable to be helped. I had to ask for their manager to get any employee here to work. I needed a binder and a few other things and I looked for the nearest Office Depot, but it's miles away. I usually go when I have other errands to run, but then I remembered Staples (I don't know why I forgot about them, but I did). I looked and they are almost walking distance from my house (but I'm not about to walk that far). So I drove to the plaza and went in. First, the place is huge. Generally, Staples stores are pretty big, so that's not a shock, but I was impressed with the size and with the selection. They had everything I needed. And the prices are fair. The only thing they did not have was the H&R Block tax software. They have TuboTax but I prefer the other one. They do the same thing but the other one is cheaper. But they didn't have it and I didn't feel like driving ten miles just to save a few dollars. And the TurboTax was $10 off. So, I went with that one. It works just as well. It's nice to know they're so close by. I can run over (well, drive over) any time I need something. read more

Epic disaster. I ordered Christmas cards from here, but the cards were WAY darker than the proof. I was told by the manager Denny that their printer sometimes prints darker and to lighten my photos, order again and exchange. I did. I was told my order would be ready the next day. The following day I didn't receive an order pick up email. I waited 2 more days and called. I was told they had issues with their printer and the cards would be ready the following day, after 5pm. The next day I called after 5pm to confirm pickup and no one answered after being on hold for over 15 mins. I called the following day and was asked to leave my name, phone number and order number and a store manager would call me back. NO ONE called back. So, I'm Here now in person and I have been waiting in Line for 40 mins (only 2 people were ahead of me) watching this hot mess of a store. Only 2 employees working, printers jamming, and cards and paper products scattered about. Just checked and they NEVER printed the new cards. So now I am waiting on that. read more

I had to walk through the store to find someone. Once I found someone they reluctantly assisted me but said they couldn't find my order. Then they said their print machine was broken. This location is horrible. I had a pretty crappy experience ordering online. I ordered and got a confirmation, I called the Lauderhill Store (only place that had my item in stock) 5 times to see if I could get my system. After 2- 45 minute holds my computer was ready. When I went in, they didn't even check my id to make sure I was the correct person picking up a system worth $750. That annoyed me. I get the system and the specs I was promised was not delivered. So i called the store in lauderhill, the employee told me (the day I bought my system) it's not our problem reach out to dell!! I used to like Staples but this store has gotten progressively worse this past year. Example: I purchased a very expensive office chair - nearly $300 for my home office (not much usage - purchased in October 2016). It has always leaned towrds the right and now getting worse. Upon calling the store they informed me that because I didn't purchase an extended warranty my 30 days was up. They didn't offer any help whatsoever. They didn't give me any suggestions as to a remedy nor anywhere or anyone that would help me. Seems to me that a product in that price range should have an included warranty longer than 30 days. Be that as it may I think the extended warranty is a scam-they pass it or part of it on to the sales force in many cases. I called the manufacturer and they are assisting me in a pleasant and caring manner. Thank you Staples, my business is going to Office depot in the future. Thank you very much.
