It can't be don't ok next day cause machine was t on. We said we needed it today so she turned it on and charged us an extra 6.60$ for express. Amazon counter returns are NOT at the copy center. You need to go to the far back left of the copy center to the shipping line. I was there for 10 minutes in line in the wrong place to be told to go to the other line. The man told me he would be with me soon and proceeded to take care of all 5 people that were behind me in the other line before calling for someone. No one came so 20 minutes later he finally checks me out. The exit is barricaded because of high theft but they didn't seem to keep disabled patrons in mind. We have to walk or ride all the way around to a small turn to walk thru a small line to exit. Great perhaps for loss prevention but a nightmare for disabled patrons. This is the second location I've had this issue with the Amazon returns being marked in the incorrect spot and then having to walk around the displays to leave. They need to do better. Either stop taking amazon returns or don't put us at the bottom of the priority list to service. It shouldn't take a half hour to return one small item. I did speak to a supervisor and he told me that the barricade was because of 170K of theft annually and they were told that Amazon is the least priority customer. Yesterday I went to the print service department, with a sheet of previously-purchased Avery labels, and a pdf, formatted using Avery's template, with the intention of getting ONE SHEET of 30 labels printed. The associate told me she was too busy, and I would have to leave my order, and come back "tomorrow". I asked if she could help me load the self-serve printer with my label sheet, and she told me that self-serve was for paper only; no labels. I was astounded. I've been a Staples customer for decades. The young lady running the printing center will not speak. Regardless of the reason for her inability to speak, she should not be placed in a role that requires frequent, effective and efficient communication with customers. The print shop does not allow you to use USB devices that are password protected, negating the whole reason we drove an hour round trip to have printing completed. Once we found a way to have someone off site download the document and forward it to the Staples email, making any confidential information no longer confidential, she was unable to make an 11x8.5 any larger in scale than just an 18x24. A high resolution plat should EASILY be blown up to blueprint size. While waiting to speak to a manager, we gave up. When we walked out we realized there's a whole other counter open to check people out with a line of people waiting for the one easily visible check out. 2 employees were just standing there leaning on the counter rather than directing the next customer to walk around and be served. I went in Staples to pick up a Plastic File Box that I had ordered online (Big Mistake, paid more online) they had it previously cheaper and on sale cheaper when I went in to store. I asked the Manager if I could return it? She asked me if I had my receipt & I said "No, but I have my Staples card and she said that I couldn't return it, without my receipt (go figure). I find that the items on sale at staples are priced much higher than they should be. The positive, however, is that they have a large selection of office equipment and accessories that you can browse through. If you are a large company, I guess staples may be a good vendor to work with. When you are in the store and you need answers or help, you may have to find an associate to answer your questions and it seems that help is hard to find. The positive, however, is that when you do have someone helping you, the associates are helpful and knowledgeable. read more

A follow-up warning . . . if you buy anything from Staples online and end up having to return it in the store, this only works if the item is actually stocked in bricks-and-mortar Staples stores. The store "customer service" reps will essentially make you take it back while you wait for an emailed UPS label, which will take days to arrive, and then have it shipped back to the Staples distribution center. How the company which promoted the so-called "Easy Button" manages to be worse than Walmart in terms of e-commerce actually amazes me. I went in to buy some pens and markers. Seeing that my favorite pens were on sale, I decided to buy two packs. When I got to the register it rang up the regular price. I pointed out that they were on sale and she asked for my phone number. I know that I've had a rewards card in the past but my phone number did not show me as a rewards customer. So NO SALE FOR ME. It seems like a good idea to see if I wanted to sign up to be a rewards member and get the sale price, but noooooo.
