Today is March 30, 2020
I went to Staples in Crossville Tennessee this morning to shop for home office items. During this Coronavirus lots of people are doing work from home. I went in search of some paper storage items. I had been shopping for a few minutes and I finally found the correct isle. I started to that area, and as I turned to go down the correct isle, I tripped over a tote that had apparently been left on the floor. I am posting a picture of my leg. I went straight to an associate and showed her my leg. She called for someone to bring the first aid kit. Within a few minutes, I was greeted by a woman, who asked where this occurred. We told her and she left me there with bandages and walked away. Another associate came 3 minutes later with miscellaneous items. His name was Carlos (general manager). His first words were "I can't touch or apply this, but here are some things to use." He opened an alcohol wipe and handed it to me. Then he opened a triple antibiotic cream and handed it to me. He then gave me a roll of gauze and I wrapped my leg. He had no tape to hold the bandage in place, but he then took out a pocket knife and attempted to cut the gauze. The knife was not working well, so he asked me to hold the gauze tight so that he could cut it. It didn't work, so he finally asked another associate for scissors. He didn't ask my name or even if I was ok. He then just left me to go about his day. I yelled thank you and left the store. They took time to remove the tote from the isle, before they even took care of me. This is scary, because I have a fib and I take blood thinners. My leg was bleeding and although my life was not in immediate danger, they could have taken care of me while someone else removed the tote. Anyone on blood thinners could bleed to death in minutes. I wanted to add pictures, however, I can't seem to locate that option. Please be careful when shopping at this store. Watch for things to be obstructing the walk way. While I was waiting to be taken care of the first associate who came to me asked my husband to show her where this happened, so he did. She took something and cleaned the tote, while I was still waiting for someone to help me. Priorities should be to help the injured party first, and send someone else to remove the danger. read more
