Super convenient for Amazon drop offs but D***! I am soooooo tired of the rude chirren that work here at this Woodyard Road location. NO acknowledgment of my arrival or existence. NO, "I'll be right with you" or anything! Another cashier finally walks up (AFTER 7 minutes ... yes, I'm the petty patron that starts timing when my patience wears thin) and literally just stares at me. NO, "thank you for being patient", "hello", "what do you need", "how can I help you" ... The nonchalant-blank-death-stares BLOW ME! 1. Poor customer service skills Je' Neice seems like a nice person in real life (first time we met she was training to be a manager/supervisor very flustered as she was learning the process of printing etc. But I don't think she works well under pressure, very dismissive and passively rude, this might not mean much but online might be best for people today because of folks like her .. I rather invest in my own products and become those DIY type person in the long run I'll probably save . Rude, nasty incompetent staff, skip this staples at all cost! They are not adapting well to Amazon returns, and they are understaffed.

So this Staples has some potential. The store is organized and clean and from my last two experiences at this location the customer service has been very up and down. They get 2 stars for willingness to agree to rush my print jobs. I often have to print government proposals which are costly and fairly large printing jobs especially when getting multiple copies. With that being said I usually place my order over the phone but before paying I always call and verify the store can handle that size order the same day before closing. Timeliness is everything. The first time I did this a young woman answered the phone was super helpful asked me exactly what my order would be (I hadn't placed it yet to ensure it could be done). She assured me she could get it done and it would be ready around 8:30PM. I asked her what time they closed she told me 10PM. I showed up slightly early and they were printing and binding and I noticed the door said they closed at 9PM. There were 2 girls working on the binding and I was finally finished and ready to go around 9:30PM and sure enough people were still coming in and out. Yesterday, I did the same thing. I called before ordering to verify the job could be done. A young man answered the phone, Eric. I asked him if it could be done before closing and he responded "should be able to" well before placing a $300 printing order I needed to know. I also asked for verification what time they closed. He told me 9PM. He finally gave me a yes to getting it done that day. After arriving (I headed straight from the office because DC traffic), I saw a young man sitting in the "copy & print" section who appeared bored (again this is just speculation because i'm not sure what he's supposed to be doing). I walk up and told him I was there to pick up an order gave him my name around 1.5 Hours after placing the order. He then began to print, this was around 7:30PM. Around 8:15PM he flags me down to tell me my order was ready. I walk over and I'm watching him put all 400 pages of my documents in a box without binding. I politely remind him that there are 6 documents there and they should all be bound with covers. He looked at the order form said "oh.. that might take a while" Needless to say, he finished around 9PM exactly but I'm grateful i got there early to walk him through getting my order completed. Also I went to ask the cashier a question about returns on envelops I was buying (if they didn't fit my proposal they would come back), she cut me off mid sentence to tell me she knew nothing about the "copy & print" center. I kindly told her I wasn't asking about that, but about the envelopes in my hand. I think the intentions are good here maybe just some more customer service training. read more

I only come in here to mass print for my job. Every time I go in Niecey in the printing departmentis always working hard trying to meet the demands of clients asking questions and taking care of other tasks. All while helping clients in the self service section. She helped me to refill my printer all while tending to customers. She is true multi tasker all while maintaining great customer service! She even helped me with putting my prints in a box so they wouldn't fly away (it was windy that day!). I'll keep coming back as long as she works that section. She does a great job and it reflects great for Staples. read more

My review would have been 4 stars if it was just about the person who helped me. His name is Prince. I'm used to walking into Staples, Office Depot and FedEx and getting no help. I'm used to finding things on my own. I had gone to another Staples and the guy greeted a White customer but ignored me. When I did ask him for help he could not grasp what I was asking for, which was single sheets of large white paper. Anyway, back to Clinton, I came in about 10 minutes before it was about to close. I was rushing trying to find a roll of poster/banner paper. Prince stopped me asked if I needed help. I was shocked. He wasn't quite sure what I was looking for so I pulled it up on my phone. He didn't just wave me to the area and leave me to find it or not. He walked me to the exact spot. When I told I would talk about him in a survey if I got it, he said it was ok and not to worry about. So I am here to say Prince is the greatest Staples employee I have ever experienced. He should be manager. Polite. Helpful. Respectful. There was another employee who was helping customers. She was dark-skinned, with glasses I think. She was helpful with customers, including a young mother who wanted pictures. Four stars instead of 5 because when I went to the register where a reddish-haired customer service person was she immediately said, "You gotta go over there." When I looked confused because she was standing behind the register she said she was closed and then walked away. There was no one at the other register. I found Prince and asked him where do I go. He checked me out. Also, when I told him about my typical experience and about my experience at the other store, he apologized! Please clone him, promote him, give him a raise. read more

I'm assuming this Staples is going out of business because they are always horribly understaffed and customer service is a foreign concept. There was one cashier which is typical with a long line and over the intercom a request for a manager to pickup a call six times. It got to the point where I wanted to pickup the call while I was waiting in line. The manager slowly walked up to the front, picked up the phone call, about 15 seconds in says well I'm the only one here so it's gonna take me awhile so I'll have to call you back or you'll be on hold for awhile. I rarely post a review but today although there where employee in the store there was no customer service initiative to help customers. I tried unsuccessful to exchange paper for another color and the gentlemen walked away from me because my receipt had been emailed. I also informed the gentleman that I was a member of Staples Reward program which meant NOTHING to him. I left the store with out making my exchange. read more

So I pay an expedited fee for fast service and I'm waiting quite a long time as I watch the employees wait on others, check smart phones n zone out. Time is money, right? If you need to use Copy&Print then look for another Staples. I had a terrible experience for 2 times in this Staples. I stood in the line for 15 minutes and they had only one operator over there. When she got to me she also have taken an order for the lady that was standing behind me in line and started to process her first. Why? Because they know each other, maybe. Anyway. I don't recommend to go into this particular store for Copy&Print. This store need some new management and more people on staff. read more

I was very disappointed in this stores Tech Repair. The rest of the store may be fine, but the sheer incompetence in this arena was astounding. First, I called and selected the Tech option - no one ever answered. Second, I finally went down there, and was kept waiting 20 minutes because there was only one person processing customers and he spent half that time busying himself, waiting for answers from another employee and never thought to get the next person started. Third, when I finally got assistance, despite being very clear what problem I was having with my computer, I was asked a bunch of questions about unrelated issues I wasn't having. Fourth, and final - I'm then told they don't even service the model netbook I brought in. So, everything... total waste of time. read more

I visited the Clinton location looking for thermal paper for my adding machine. I didn't see it in the aisle , only regular adding machine paper. I approached the rude non mask wearing young lady at the counter to ask a question and she belts out that the check out is on the other side. I informed her that I wanted to as a question regarding if they had any thermal paper. She came over to the aisle where I had already searched for the thermal paper. She then said this is all we have. Never even checked the computer. She was not familiar with the inventory , obviously. She asked another employee who showed us both that it was one shelf over from the regular adding machine paper roll . She could have much more polite . I did inform her that jus because wut I had in my hand said adding machine roll did not mean it was specific for my needs because it did not say thermal , which is wut i needed. She could use her free standing time at the register when no customers are present to familiarize herself better with the inventory rather than jus telling me that's all they had, as if to say take it or leave it. Associates were very unprofessional. My husband and I were the only customers in line. It took the associate over 5 minutes to call us up. She was busy talking to another before calling us up. They looked at us occasionally but continued talking and cleaning their cell phones before acknowledging us. Very unprofessional. I will do everything I can to avoid this Staples from now on. I usually go there because it has a UPS drop off which stays open later than the UPS store. Every time I've been, it takes 10-15 minutes to drop off a package despite them being completely boxed up with prepaid shipping labels affixed. Tonight was the last straw. I had somewhere to be, but was hoping against all odds that I could quickly drop my package off and still make my appointment on time. Those hopes were dashed when I walked up to the print shop counter where the UPS drop off is and saw a sign stating the entire print shop was closed for the day. I went to a cashier and stood in line for a good 5 minutes while one cashier helped a customer and the other cashier and the manager helped a customer who was disputing a price. I swear these were the only three employees in the store. After about 5 minutes, one of the cashiers asked what me and the gentleman behind me in line what we needed (in a helpful way), I told him I was trying to drop off a package with a preprinted shipping label, but no one was at the station. He told me no one from the print shop showed up to work that day and the only person who could take my package was the manager, but that because I had a prepaid shipping label, he only needed to scan its barcode and it should be quick. I thanked him then went to wait my turn to speak to the manager. He asked what I needed, I told him I was dropping off a package with a prepaid shipping label and he let me know he'd be with me momentarily, so I went and stood by the UPS drop off counter again. He finished with the customer who had a price dispute and I kid you not, started slowly sauntering around the store doing everything BUT coming to scan my barcode. After about 10-15 minutes he waltzed into the stockroom and I decided to leave. I barely made my appointment and I still haven't mailed my package which I really needed to ship by today. read more

Multiple trips to get documents printed, I should have learned by now. They are so unorganized and don't have a lot of paper selection, they are always out. Went to get a laptop since they were having a sale and all they had were 10 laptops on display. Every single laptop was locked so I couldn't which one worked best. We called for help several times and were blatantly ignored. In the end we left without getting anything or being helped. 30 minutes wasted along with gas. read more

Copy Center staff (lady with the long braids & gray colored contact lenses)was very unprofessional. First and foremost, instead of formally speaking to me she says "yes?". Then proceeded to ask what did I need and I told her copies. She then replied "well, how many do you need because we're backed up". I went to the assistant manager and told her my issue, of course she gave that same old tired retail line "I understand". I can almost guarantee that she doesn't understand. If the staff can't handle the work load in the copy center fire them and hire new staffers. Customer service ought to be paramount in a customer service store. read more

Wow.... I can't say anything more. They're horrible. The manager is passive aggressive. I bought chap stick while waiting on a print out and he gives me one look then looks to see if my debit card is fake... I wouldn't mind the checking my ID part but the fact that He looked art me like I was a criminal was hurtful. He checks it and let's me swipe. Their printing is bad too. The only reason I went there was because my printers ink had dried up. They also open up late. I will say however that The employees that work there are okay though. read more

Went in yesterday to recycle ink cartridges because our organization gets credit for it. Well first it took 10 minutes for the one customer in front of me to be told someone else needed to help her. I guess that was a supervisor. After I told the clerk what I wanted to do, the supervisor said something to the clerk. The clerk went and looked out the window (being proactive) and said "we don't take the boxes and you can throw them away outside". I was stunned! Ok so I'm recycling....WTH difference in or out of the box. C'mon Staples! Recycle the whole thing!The supervisor said it again that they don't take the boxes. So I took the cartridges out and took my boxes to recycle at home. This is the first time I have taken them to Clinton, Waldorf store never said that. After that I am going to pay more attention to how much it really saves. They price match but not with Amazon Prime. With customer service like this, good luck Staples. read more

Do not go to this Staples. I literally needed stop what I was doing and download the Yelp app because I felt that compelled to write about my terrible experience. I found a product in the store that I wanted to price so I went to ask a sales associate. Immediately the sales associate made me feel as though I was bothering him, as he was behaving in a manner that was very combative, snide, sarcastic, and all around unpleasant and unprofessional. I asked a follow up question after his snide reply to me and I soon realized I was going to go nowhere with this conversation. Long story short I decided to scan the item with my phone, find it cheaper somewhere else and exit as fast as I could. I also manage my firm's corporate account with Staples in Washington, DC.
