But then, thankfully, I was told that I could be put on a waiting list! I was seen the following week. The Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the doctor is very thorough during his examinations to make sure that you get the exact prescription you need. This is only my second pair of glasses so I was struggling to find frames that I liked, but Amy was there to guide me through the process. God bless Amy because I would've walked out with a pair of clown glasses for sure. Highly recommend!

She quickly found an appointment that works for my schedule that is not a month out like other places. I have gone here for several years and every time I go in, I'm seen right away and get a very thorough exam, but I get in and out very fast. I also looked around at glasses for a little while, and they had a great selection, and I was shocked at how reasonable they were. That is refreshing in today's pricing gouges that are seen everywhere else. Please give Dr Sugarman office a chance; you will not be disappointed!

I've had mixed experiences here, but my last visit crossed a line. I was two minutes late and…read moreneeded to quickly grab my phone from my car (as a single parent, it's essential I stay connected). One staff member acted like I needed her permission to leave the building, which was both unnecessary and condescending. During the appointment, the person fitting my glasses made inaccurate assumptions about my vision history, dismissed my input, and even physically hurt me during the fitting--with zero apology. When I politely corrected him, he brushed it off entirely. What makes it worse? I sent a kind, detailed follow-up email asking about important next steps in my eye care--lenses, drops, treatments--and nearly two weeks later, I've received no response. For a place that had no problem taking over $600 for glasses, the lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. I don't recommend this clinic if you expect to be treated with basic respect or to receive professional follow-through on your care.

Impatient and rush you through trying to learn how to wear them. And then do not make sure you are aware you have 90 days to get them correct. 3.5 stars based on 2 separate visits- I'm rounding down based on the most recent experience…read more I like how you can make an appointment via text so you don't have to call and be on hold, or wait to speak to someone. That's my favorite part. I had been here once before, last year, and became a repeat customer for this visit based on the efficiency and the friendliness of the staff and doctor. Here are my notes from todays visit. I had a 930am Friday appt and even though I got there early, I still had to unfortunately wait to be seen 25 min. I know that's unfortunately what to expect these days from doctors- I just appreciate communication as to if I'll be needing to wait longer. Common courtesy. I love the eye doctor, Dr Hoyle. Fabulous. Personable. Knowledgeable. 5 stars for her. Other than the overall excessive waiting, it was fine generally speaking. What to expect - You sign your waivers at the front desk with the expo marker and they scan it into your files- you wait to be called. You're walked through the initial eye check process like the glaucoma check, questions, initial eye screening, etc...then from there you're handed off to the doctor, with a wait of course in the room- then to the payment counter with clear explanations to any questions you have. A bit overpriced for their services - like $60 for a contact "fitting" for me that took 30 seconds to do- it was to see if my old prescription was still satisfactory or I wanted to try a stronger one. The technician or doctor didn't even check that the contacts looked proper on my eyes this time actually now that I'm reviewing my visit. that's definitively overpriced now.... Speaking of pricing, I had to ask for the free solution sample both times I came here-I was never offered any free samples which is sure a small thing/ but to someone like me paying $99 for a checkup, just the offer goes a long way. I didn't like how they can't provide a physical copy of your retinal scan image- they will gladly email it, which is fine, but aren't able to print it and you pay them $39 for this 1 second picture. Quite overpriced I believe, and it's not something they ask if you want or say you need or don't need- it's just assumed you'll get it even if not a high risk individual. The efficiency- That's what I appreciated from the first time I came which is why I returned- but after having to wait so long overall [before appt & then after seeing the doctor to try on the contacts prescribed this time, and no clear reasoning as to why all this waiting ]-- I did an entire yoga stretch routine in my exam room as I waited to be brought contacts to try on- I think I will consider another local optometrist since there are plenty in the area.

I shall not mention any names…read more The eye doctor I used to see in the area had the bedside manner of a bored sloth. The doctor at Huntersville Eye Care Center took a while to warm up, but once he did, he was very easy to talk to and he laughed genuinely and often. Friendly and knowledgeable guy with a calm demeanor. I'm always worried when the eye doctor takes that magnifying-glass-thingy and gets really close to your eye. This stems from an experience back in NY. That dude's mouth was WAY to close to mine. If I was Popeye, I woulda eaten me spinach. I was quite perturbed and borderline breaking point (takes a lot). He finally pulled away. With body language and tone of voice, I let him know I wasn't happy and wouldn't return. This eye doctor doesn't play those games. Very professional. The day after the eye tests (very thorough and no eye dilation but lots of lights), I woke up with vertigo. After brushing my teeth, I needed to use the wall for balance, then sat on the bed, then slid off the bed. The worst is at the gym. I hide it well (I think) because I don't want someone working there telling me I'm not in condition to work out. It will eventually pass. Had it for six months once already (gym included with no problems). I don't know if this is result of eye test or coincidence. I recommend this eye doctor. Everyone there is friendly and professional.
