If you ever want to see a company who does not care about customers nor train any employees,, then this is it.. Horrible customer service from start to finish and my story is not even over yet. The store people are not trained nor do they seem to care. They did not honor an appointment set by their customer service dept. and told me that "customer service doesn't know what is going on".... The optician is not skilled and damaged my lenses during a simple adjustment. Sent me driving home with no glasses for 2 more weeks, for no good reason.. At least 6 times the customer service department has me on hold 20 minutes and then drops the call, doesn't call back. I used to be a Lens Crafter customer, the price was higher, but the difference in service is like night and day. This is the first time I had an eye exam at this establishment. The exam was great and I chose glasses. I have been patiently waiting over three weeks for these glasses. I already paid for these glasses over $200. I've called several times within the three weeks corporate advised me that the glasses were ready and the local store had different information for me, that once the glasses is ready they will call me. I understand things are delayed due to Covid-19. However, the company has provided no communication or status updates when I will be receiving these glasses. They just charged my insurance and I paid the difference of $200. Normally I obtain my glasses from LensCrafters, which I would have had my glasses same day or next day. I am extremely unhappy and will not return. This is not ethical. read more

I read some of the negative reviews and knew I had to write about my experience since my experience was very positive. I went into the store with 2 pairs of glasses with broken frames, hoping they could be fixed. I was greeted by Inna who was very friendly and showed her the glasses. She said that Doug would be able to fix one pair but not the other. She had Sebastian and Chris check to see if my glasses were under warranty and since they were Inna assisted me in finding frames that would fit my lenses!! I had a very positive experience.... I did the exam at Glades Stanton Optical, Boca Raton, on February 13th and bought 2 pairs of glasses, they said it would be ready in 10 to 14 days. However, when I passed on February 25th I was surprised that my glasses had not yet been ordered, I don't know why .... Attendant Jessica said she would order on the same day (25th Thursday) and be ready on the 26th Friday, I don't understand how she would do it. I returned on Saturday the 27th to see if it was ready and yes it was ready but with the wrong lenses, they asked me to take the old glasses to check the lenses. After that I realized that they are bad at what they do. They said that Monday March 1st would be ready, I went on Tuesday 2nd and it wasn't ready, the service was done again by Jessica, I asked for the return of the full money, because I don't know if the exam is correct or not . However, she only returned the money for the glasses, claiming that the exam cannot be returned (even if she doesn't know if the exam is correct or not). How am I going to make glasses elsewhere ???? I will probably have to take an exam again in a more reliable place. If I knew I had seen these reviews before, what surprises me is being rated 3.6 and most reviews have only one star. I've been going to lens crafters for 20years, I finally said you know what these prices are out of control let me try something new. Mother of god, I would pay 10x the price to not deal with the headaches involved with this place. 1-obviously appointments mean nothing, waited 30mins beyond my appointment window. 2-contacts ordered were late and took longer than expected, I had to call multiple times to check on my order 3-glasses had to be re-made 3x the lenses were horrible manufactured, the coatings were horrible it screamed amateur hour If I could give 0 stars I would that's how painful this process was. read more

I really wish I had read these reviews before scheduling an appointment at Stanton optical! When I called in to inquire about costs etc they told me all about their special deals but never mentioned a doctor wouldn't be present. Who in the hell thinks it is appropriate to conduct an eye exam through a video call??? When this was presented to me I ended up agreeing to go through with it anyway since I had already taken the time off of work to be there. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. After the result came out, the receptionist was the one that discussed the result with me and she had no idea what she was even talking about! Was basically guessing at what it meant and could not answer my questions. Mind you no one ever asked me one single question about myself or why I might be there until the end when I had complaints and questions. Biggest waste of money I have ever spent. Whatever you do stay away from Stanton Optical. I've never seen shadier,, more dishonest company, in all my 60 year of getting eyeglasses. First they use examinations without an actual Dr present. Your put into room with a TV screen and a Dr on the screen does the examination remotely from God knows where. .When I first received my glasses, ( after waiting 4 weeks) they were the wrong prescription , and then , they turn me over to a real Dr who reexamined me and tried to correct the prescription. Then they reorder a new pair and make me wait 3 weeks. They try charging me originally $1400.00 and when I told them that was ridiculous, they cut it in half. I still never recieve d a pair that was correct and had to call the credit card company to cancel the charges. read more

Both Ina and Ellis went out of their way to help me to make sure that I found the correct frames for myself and I left feeling that I was in good hands. Horrible experience! The 2 for $69 only works if you need basic glasses, not progressives, tinted, anti glare usable lenses! GOOD salesperson at the time until the final bill came to $645! No follow up communication at all--glasses took almost 3 weeks to be ready! We still aren't sure that the glasses are acceptable--defects in the lenses! This was the worst experience I have ever had at a doctor's office. First, they refuse to verify your insurance over the phone because all they want to do is schedule an appt and get you in the office. So I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appt time (9:15 am for a 9:30am appt) to verify that I would be covered by my insurance. The office was dark with no staff in sight (at 9:15 am when the optical sections office hours start at 9 am). Finally, at 9:30 am someone opened the doors. Verification of my insurance required calling the insurance company which took about 20-30 minutes. Once insurance was verified they asked me to sit in the waiting area where I waited for over 20 minutes. The man who was to do my exam was walking around the whole time and finally asked me if I had already been checked in. I replied yes and he then proceeded to clean the room. Finally my exam began and yes the optometrist portion was done virtually. Weird but fine. I then had to wait another 30-40 minutes for the "doctor to sign off on my prescriptions". Turns out the pictures they took of the back of my eyes had not "uploaded" and I had to do it again! I did it again and then proceeded to wait about 20 minutes for a print out of my prescriptions and samples of contacts. Once I got the contact lens samples they tell me that they don't have the samples in the prescription for my left eye (only for my right eye). When I asked if they could provide me an alternative choice I was told to just wear the same ones for both eyes since the difference in my prescription between eyes is not that big!! What?!? So then when I asked for two samples of the same one to put in both eyes they refused to give me another sample pack and said I could return in 3 days to pick up the other sample pack with the correct prescription. After all of this when I go to check out they want to charge me the out of pocket price! They didn't realize I was going through insurance! After all the phone calls done at the start of the visit. I will never ever return to this place. Do not entrust your eyes to this business. Also, while I was there two separate people were complaining that their prescriptions on their glasses had been done incorrectly and other were complaining because they never received calls informing them that the optometrist had called out sick today. Came to the Glades Rd. store to get eye exam and new glasses for my wife. Eye exam had to be done twice because the first prescription turned out to be way too strong, but the second exam corrected everything. My wife picked out two pairs of frames but when we came back to get the glasses we noticed they were the same display frames she had tried on because one had loose bows and the other had scratches on the bows. We brought this up to the staff person and asked him to order us new frames, which he said he would. Later I tried to check on the status of the order online and found out that there was no order. So I called Customer Service and explained the situation. The respondent was actually very helpful and offered to contact the store to resolve the issue. I told him that I would rather not deal with the same person due to our experience and asked if I could instead go to another store. He coordinated with the Palm Beach location to have me come in and order the frames, which we did. Two days later I got notification on my voicemail that the frames had arrived. To our dismay they were sent to the Glades Rd. store, but no biggie, I thought, since we would at least be getting the new frames. This morning we went to get the new frames but the staff person there told us that he could only find one of the frames. He told us to wait for the guy that previously helped us as he was on his way to work. When he showed up he gave an explanation for the missing frame that didn't make sense to me but the bottom line was that even though the order status for my wife's glasses showed that both frames had been delivered, the missing one stayed missing. This being our fifth trip to the store, we were just too tired to deal with this debacle and decided to just take the frames and go home. I really wished I could give this vendor a good review because I saw how helpful the other staff members at the store were to other customers. read more

This has got to be the absolute WORST place of business I have encountered! Everyone is (fairly) friendly but utter incompetent at their job except the ophthalmologist, who is very good. After that, it goes downhill. I ended up with 4 free pair of glasses/sunglasses due to their errors. Only got results after contacting Better Business Bureau, and that was after 4 months of one mistake after another. I felt I was more than patient. Since I had a $300 credit, I thought after 3 years is try them again. Stupid mistake on my part! Messed up again! Still waiting for this to be fixed. Do not waste your time and money!!! This place is a joke. Everyone that works here makes you feel like a ghost and that you do not exist. It is so unprofessional. The employees at the reception desk are rude. They tell you to wait a few minutes and someone will come help. I waited over an hour the first time picking up my prescription glasses order and no one came to help, so I left. I came back a second time a few days later to pickup my order and STILL no one has come to help. This is frustrating. It's the absolute worst experience at any optical visit I've had anywhere. I went to Stanton on Jan 18,2019. I paid for an exam and ordered a pair of glasses. I was told I would receive a call when they were ready. That call never came, I finally called and asked about the status of my order. I was asked, "did you receive a call?" I said, no but it's been long enough can you check anyway? Sure enough my glasses were there. I drove to pick them up and they were the wrong prescription. Needless to say I was upset. The front desk manager offered me a free pair of sunglasses to write a favorable review; she even went as far as writing her name down so I could get it right in the review. I admit I accepted and wrote the review PREMATURELY (which has now been removed). It is now 2/6/19 and I still have not received a call, so I call them. I spoke with Chris - who informed me the glasses were received but can not be found. Asked for my number and said he would call me back. In this e-mail I have made a very long story short by omitting all the additional calls and visits I have made. I was told, the 2nd time they placed the order they would put a rush on it - well surprise surprise the 2nd pair with the "rush" is taking even longer than the 1st pair. I've already written a review with the BBB, my next step is to file a complaint. This is not acceptable, glasses are ordered out of necessity and not a mere want. My husband purchased glasses from Stanton ten months ago. Since that time, the lenses has developed bubbles in them, inside the glass. The glasses were not damaged from scratching or dropping, it was a defect within the lenses. He went to the store to have them fix the glasses and they told him that it had been over 60 days, therefore, there would be a 20% charge if he wanted them to repair the lenses, inasmuch as the "LIMITED WARRANTY" had expired. The representative also said the problem could have been caused by the environment or the way he cleaned the glasses. It should be mentioned that two pair were purchased at the time and the second pair is absolutely fine. There is no commercial on television, that we have seen, that indicates there is a limited warranty on Stanton's glasses. I think that senior citizens should be very wary when they go to these glass places to get their eyewear. My husband is not only a senior citizen, but a disabled vet, and they don't give VA discounts. They don't tell you there is a limited warranty. He spent over $600 on glasses and frames and got absolutely no satisfaction when he called to let them know there was a problem. In fact, the regional manager absolutely refused to do anything further for him, other than the 20% discount. I write this so that people will be more aware when they see these slick ads on TV telling them all about those "BOGO" specials they have. They try to win you with smiles and politeness however their service is the worst I've encountered at any business in S. Florida (Ok, so Comcast is just as bad). Between husband and I ordered five pairs of glasses, only two were ready within time frame specified. one pair had Rx reversed in lenses, plain sunglasses had a prescription added to them, another pair for an unknown reason 'couldn't accommodate'. After ten days and seven visits finally have glasses. This morning I received a call from their hotline advising me one of my two pairs were ready for pickup. Really? The salesman, Ellis, made us wait a while before he attended to us because apparently he was starving and needed to eat the pizza another employee brought. $432 later I got my glasses. I went to Stanton Optical, having been told that they were not the best place, but was (very) pleasantly surprised. I went for an eye exam, as my driver's license is about to expire & I wanted to see about my vision exam at the DMV. Dr. Cole was both friendly and professional in administering my eye exam. Then, as I was leaving, one of the employees chased me down saying "the manager" wants to talk to you. As I had already paid the $45 eye exam fee, I thought maybe I owed some more. Instead, the manager (a lady whose name I don't remember) told me that I was entitled to a pair of glasses for NO EXTRA charge. I couldn't believe it, they wouldn't let me leave without my getting my full money's worth! I am not making this store up, this is a good optometrist's store. read more

What a bizzare experience. I walked into the store and there no one around. I found this attendant guy behind a counter who was packing a box. He directed me to the doctors office further back in the store, where I met the sales associate- he was the only one for the whole store. After some discussion it was determined that prescription lens couldn't be made for the glasses I had, and I was asked to select another pair in the store. They were having a sale- two for one. Wow! What a trashy selection! The frames were made in China and looked like something you'd see a vendor selling on the street in some third world country!
