A good friend of mine is heavily into karaoke and suggested we go here to get the night started. We got there around 9:30, and while still relatively early, there was a decent amount of people playing pool while others did karaoke. I sat in the upper section close to the bar. Within a span of thirty minutes, people started coming in droves and the place was packed! While I didn't do karaoke, it seemed like their list of songs was extensive as many people sang songs ranging from the 70's and 80's to present day. The patrons were friendly and really seemed encouraging and cheerful to each person who sang. Drink wise, I went for my go to, which is a three olives grape and sprite. Both times the pour was a bit heavy but rest assured, I had NO complaints! Despite the large crowd, the bartenders seemed to get to everyone and never forgot about me when I requested water. This was a great place to get started and doesn't seem like a bad place to end the night. I'll def. be back and hope to maybe sing a song! read more

Stan's is a fun little dive bar with a following of regulars during the week and karaoke/party folks on the weekend. Karaoke is often loud and jam packed, so choose your nights wisely if that's not what you're looking for. Otherwise they have cheap drinks, pool, basic snacks (chips etc.) to help soak up the booze or you can bring in real food. Can also be a chill spot to grab a drink in the early afternoon and catch a game and you'll often find Stan hanging out at one of the high tops with his people. As others have mentioned the bathroom set up is strange..2 toilets close together, separated by a wall with no stall doors - so if you want privacy double check that you've locked the door to the bathroom itself. There's also a cool little laundromat down the street, so if you time it right..well, you get the idea!!! read more

Stan's is one of my weekend favorite places! Me and my friend go almost every weekend. The bartenders are great, friendly crowd, good mix of 20's up to 60's. Karaoke on the weekend is always fun! No food but small chips and pizza read more

Stan's is our go to for karaoke on Friday nights! Sometimes it's busy, sometimes it's not. Either way we have a blast. Drinks are reasonable and bartenders are friendly in a stand-offish sorta way but it works. Bathrooms are weird but if you didn't want to stop talking to your bestie but had to pee you could go in together and pee together and keep on talking. (two toilet seats are right next to each other. If you don't bring a friend into the bathroom you can lock it so nobody walks in on you lol!) read more

We arrived at 8:00 for 9:00 karaoke, for our daughter's 21st birthday. Stan, as well as the guy at the door, were so kind and helpful. They let us out tables together and hang 21st birthday decorations. The karaoke DJ made the night incredibly special for her, even buying her a drink. He had the whole bar sing happy birthday, as well as reminding everyone all night that it was her birthday, and calling her up to sing several times. It was the perfect way to celebrate, and we are so grateful for this awesome night! read more

What an amazing dive bar I wish i had visited years ago!! They have karaoke, cheap drinks, and friendly staff!! Stan at the door is SO nice! Also, it's really spacey! It looks small from the outside but plenty of room to move! I wish there had been another bartender though, the line moved a little slow. No fault to the girl working she did her best! Last night was my first visit to Stan's Bar. I came up after work to meet some friends after a long day at work. I would not return. The bartender was incredibly unfriendly and rude. She took care of all the men politely and treated the women rudely! She would take care of all the men before she even acknowledged that I was standing there waiting to order another cocktail. The bartender was delightful and did a wonderful job so I'm giving Stan's two stars. Otherwise, I would give it one star. I normally love dive bars, but this place wasn't for me. People can smoke in here and the bar smells AWFUL. Like strip club awful. You notice the smell the moment you walk in the door. The nasty smoke scent envelops you; you smell terrible when you leave. The bar was filled with obnoxious drunk guys and one pushy 50-year-old woman who was looking for a man. No thanks. If you want food, the only menu item available is for them to cook a frozen pizza. read more

As a south-side neighborhood dive bars go this one is a-okay. I mean it's a bar, so most people know what goes on here so I will avoid giving you a run down on that. However, I will point out that this place seems to have a good following and was rather busy the night that I came here. This place was hosting a 50th birthday party for my uncle, so this is why I came here, I am not that much of a bar fly but I will come down to have some drinks and celebrate if I have to. This was the occasion, and they didn't disappoint. There was a friendly woman behind the bar that I felt a little bad for because she was the only one there with quite a crowd to attend to. She was however quick and it did not take long to get an order when one needed refreshment. The bar is split into two large rooms, one side with games (video and some pool) and the other has televisions and karaoke! Yes! Karaoke is a favorite here I was told on Friday and Saturday nights. The crowd really get into it, although I think when you have a few drinks it IS easier to get those whom are shy up there and having some fun! So, if your looking for some fun in a nice quite neighborhood and don't want to spend a lot on some libations, come here.It may be a little divey, but who cares? I didn't! read more

Well it's a smoking bar. Is there anything else you really need to know? On a positive note, I went there for karaoke and was pleased by the service the bartender and DJ provided. I would have gone one star but because they were so nice and prices were cheap this will be one of the few smoking bars that I will give more than one star. read more

I've been to Stan's many times. Their beer selection is limited, the layout is dated, off-street parking can sometimes be a challenge, and the worst part is that I always go home after a night at Stan's reeking of cigarettes, and I don't smoke. But I really enjoy coming to Stan's because there are no pretentious, uppity people here, karaoke nights on Fridays and Saturdays are tons of fun, and the staff is always friendly and very attentive. read more

Stan is The Man! Older crowd which was a welcome relief after passing the frat house bar down the street. Fun karaoke and $12 6-beer buckets every day of the week. Yes, you can smoke there. That's why we went. If you don't like smoke, do not come here. We had a blast and will be back for more. read more

I really enjoyed my visit here! It is your average dive bar. I went on a Wednesday evening after work and there were maybe 10 people at the bar. I was a little concerned because previous reviewers commented about how smoky it was. I don't smoke but it was not at all bothersome to me - but that's probably because it was a slow week night. I was meeting my date there and was a little nervous waiting alone but the bartender, Heather, was awesome. She made a great Long Island Tea and made me feel welcome. I will definitely be going back whenever I want a decent drink at a decent price. read more
