I was called by this rude receptionist exactly at 9 am…read morethat couldn't even pronounce my name correctly and when I corrected her caught a huge attitude. I explained I was two blocks away and the majority of the time I come exactly at 9 the doors have not even open yet. She proceeded to have an attitude and slammed the phone down on me. I arrived at the doctor's office at 9:03 am. Tanisha asked if okay and I said no that the person who just called me was rude and not even an apology or acknowledgment of the situation was addressed. The receptionist proceeded to tell me she wasn't rude and then rolled her eyes. My family and I have been with this establishment for years even before Dr. FINELY decided to open the adult side. The receptionist on this side needs more training on phone etiquette and customer service. It is currently 9:18 and I still have not been called.

I've have braces 2 times and the teeth started to shift. I'm in my 30's so braces weren't an option for me so veneers was best for me. If I would of know about veneers I would of gotten them long ago. I spent so much money on braces, implants, among other things. The final result was amazing!!!!! As for my husband he too wasn't going to get braces he did veneers and he has the perfect smile. You can't even tell they are veneers because we didn't go white as celebrities do. Their sign says to "sign in and have a seat and they'll call you if additional information is needed". At first I waited for the woman to pick up the chart as she would have saw that I checked off the box for new patient. She didn't acknowledge me standing there, didn't ask what I was waiting for, nothing!! To "respect" their sign, I sat down. The woman picked up the sign in sheet 26 minutes later, 4 minutes before my daughter's appointment time, this is when I was handed new patient forms and was told that she'd call the insurance to verify coverage. After ANOTHER 30 minutes passed, I asked the woman about how long it would be before my daughter was called as I had to go back to work. I reminded her of the appointment time my daughter had versus the time it was, she said 1 person was before her and she didn't know how long AND "there was nothing she could do". My daughter didn't get seen until a whole hour AFTER her appointment time. What's the point of having an appointment if you're not going to see patients at their scheduled times? A doctor knows approximately how long a procedure should take and thus should know how many slots and slot times they allow for a certain amount of people or type of visit. They need to work on scheduling and hospitality. I could see if we were late but we were more than on time. Most offices tell you to come in 15 minutes before the scheduled time - we were there 30 minutes prior.

As a Health Care Assistant Director of Operations, I have experience managing a dental office and a strong understanding of the business. I know that dental care can be quite expensive. I have a Union Dental insurance plan with a $2,400 annual cap, which isn't enough to cover the extensive work I need. I appreciated that Dr. Katayev assigned me a financial counselor who explained all the resources available to me. Mrs. Elizabeth was very knowledgeable about their financial system, which made me feel comfortable with the pricing and the quality of the porcelain crowns. After four months of treatment, I can confidently say that the NY Dental Group office in Coop City is an excellent dental practice that meets all my expectations. The exam rooms were clean and adhered to all infection control rules and regulations--this was my first consideration when choosing this facility. Additionally, the customer service is outstanding. I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit when the receptionist greeted me by saying, "You can have a seat, Ana," without me even having to tell them who I was. The system had my picture, and they made it a priority to know their patients. I also want to give a shout-out to the clinical team assigned to me. During my first visit, I underwent the initial treatment for an implant placement. Dr. Katayev was fantastic, and the procedure was quite tolerable; I would rate the pain as a four out of ten. Dr. Katayev later introduced me to Dr. Daniel Ilayaich, DDS, and Mrs. Karen, the dental assistant, and what a team they are! Dr. Daniel is very courteous, and his empathy and compassion for his patients were evident through his actions. He excels at his work because he truly loves what he does. Mrs. Karen is a sweetheart, gentle and compassionate with her patients while assisting Dr. Daniel. I am truly grateful to have such a wonderful team taking care of me. Many practices demonstrate courtesy, but few embody all three qualities: courtesy, empathy, and compassion. Today they remind me to come in for 6 month follow up, but nothing about that crown. I cancel and they tell me to "come in so we can talk about your crown situation." Yeah, I bet, come in so you can bill a visit. How about you me now on the phone why your service leaves a lot to be desired? 2 years ago, same thing with a no Hygienist to clean teeth because "he was in school." Really? What does that got to do with me? What dentist keeps patients waiting because of his staffing and HR issues? I am done with these people. Convenient location does not mean good customer service.
