They did a pretty ok job. They were punctual. They finished the job in a timely manner. The carpets looked decent when they were gone. They did some upselling, but that was expected. The thing that bothered me was that they claimed that they would wear masks and gloves when they were here, and they never wore either ever. It looked like a father and son. They were pretty nice and tried to make pleasant small talk with me, but unfortunately I shut them down because I was upset about their lack of PPE. We've had them out to our home twice. First time was to clean a large area rug & our couches. The second time was to clean 3 bedrooms, hallway & stairs. Each time they did a great job. Order for 2 rooms of carpet and furniture cleaned. First, the techs that were sent were not the ones I requested(that I had a great experience with in the past), but kept an open mind with this new crew. The ones that were sent were nice, professional, knowledgeable, fast, but the actual cleaning was subpar. After, my re-cleaning 3 days later by a different crew it became evident how subpar. At the first original cleaning -dog hair was left on my furniture. When I questioned the lead tech, I was told "it's impossible to get up all the dog hair". When they left I used my $10 roller and all the dog hair was gone. Needless to say I was annoyed, but let it go...I noticed that some of my carpet was still dry and untouched behind a piece of furniture when they "finished". When I mentioned it, I was told that they "don't move mirrors" so that's why that was not cleaned(I had a stand up mirror that leans against the wall). I said well, I'll move it then, so you can clean the carpet in that area. If I hadn't pointed it out it would've been purposely missed...1 larger stain- I was told it couldn't be removed. The lead tech was more of a salesman, than labor intensive and had an answer for every thing I pointed out that was concerning. He seemed very knowledgeable and convincing. So, I believed his responses, until I realized later on that his responses were just excuses for doing a lousy job...Once the carpet dried I noticed a couple more spots the next day that I knew should've came out. And at that point, I had to call in to address my concerns. I had spent $500 and it did not reflect in the work...A second crew was sent out to clean all the areas of concern that were neglected by the original crew. The second crew-Ben and Austin easily removed the stains that I was told by the lead tech from the original crew that "couldn't be removed"...I pointed out the areas that needed to be addressed again. Ben and Austin even noticed areas that needed to be cleaned again that I hadn't even mentioned. I appreciate their attention to detail and their keen eyes. After Ben and Austin cleaned the carpets and furniture, it was such a pleasant difference! No dog hair, no stains and they moved furniture so that each area was addressed and cleaned thoroughly. Scheduled service, they would not honor national coupons from their own website?? I was not home when they came out, I got delayed in an appointment. My wife was home, they up-charged her and did not offer the discount I was quoted on the phone. I came home and called them to ask why, they said "the extra room would be $1 not free" I said come on back out to do the extra room for $1, they responded "its $79 a room to come back out" VERY unethical. I am sure they have an explanation yet who would decline an extra room for $1? Sad that you have to be a slick negotiator to navigate their "pricing matrix" and receive fair and ethical service. read more

Dave and Nathan did an amazing job cleaning the carpets and furniture!!!! They were on time, very friendly, explained everything to me. I wish I would have took before and after pictures. The difference on everything is amazing. I have dogs and they were able to get all the stains and slobber out of everything. I will have them come back again. I was very disappointed with my experience with Stanley Steemer. I booked my appointment over a week in advance. At that time, I was given a 5 hour window (11-4); however, I was told that the day before my appointment I would receive a two hour window. When I didn't receive a call the day before my appointment, I called Stanley Steemer. The representative was not very helpful and couldn't give me an appointment time. I reiterated that needed to give my employer sufficient notice in order to leave work. Nate called me the DAY OF my appointment stating that the technicians were on the way....giving me very little time to leave work and make it home. This showed no respect for my time. I was surprised at the limited number of options for carpet cleaners in NWI. I called one - they didn't return my call. Emailed another, no reply. Found one with an online scheduler and they didn't have ability for a month. I found Stanley Steamer and easily used their online quoting tool and requested an appointment for 48 hours later. The guys showed up and they were just great. They provided great information and did a fantastic job. Carpets look back to brand new. read more

I doubt I will use them again. We wanted the den, living room, couch, and loveseat cleaned. They wouldn't clean the furniture because it was chenille... too risky according to corporate. Then said they had to charge me for 3 rooms, because the living room was over 275 sq. ft., even though 1/2 of it was covered by an area rug, which I did not want cleaned. So I said it was fine to clean the area rug in lieu of cleaning under it... No, area rug is an extra charge. To make their (and my) time worth it, I asked how much to clean the walkway around the master bed, and not move any furniture... corporate would never allow that. So we paid for 3 rooms plus an area rug, even though they only cleaned 1 1/2 rooms and an area rug. Those areas were nicely done! But I didn't get everything I wanted cleaned, and it wasn't worth taking a day off work. Next time I'll try a Mom & Pop business... all that "corporate won't allow it nonsense" was frustrating... I would have preferred to spend more money, and get more done. read more

Don't believe their promotional price. Was quoted $89 + $15 for master bedroom closet. Told them exactly what I wanted and specifically did not want any treatments of any kind and they entered that in order and said fine. They hustled my wife and took advantage of her and charged $240 for 2 rooms! Complained to corporate and they said it was independently owned and nothing they could do. I have never posted a review of a service company, but felt compelled to warn everyone about the horrible and greedy owners and customer service of this company. I scheduled a tile cleaning for 3 bathrooms in my house. Received a quote , paid $140.00 and job completed...ok. Prior to the service people leaving, I asked that he give me a quote to have the same service done in my foyer and kitchen....I thought he said $92.00. After they left I called to schedule the additional cleaning for the next week. When the service people arrived I was informed that the cost was 3X more than what I expected. My mistake. I could have sent the service people away and cancelled, but I didn't. Even after the price misunderstanding they continued to try to upsell the job with additional products, which I declined. Over the course of 2 weeks I had spent over $450.00 with Stanley Steemer. They did a ok job, nothing outstanding. I found a $25.00 discount coupon the next day on my social media page and asked if I could use it. I was told it had to be used on day of service. I asked due to the quote misunderstanding and the fact that I didn't send the service people away (and gave them a tip, not their fault) cancel because of the price, they could make a exception......NO!! Didn't care. This isn't about the $25.00! Its about the lack of respect for their customers and future business. I will get down on my hands and knees before I ever give Stanley Steemer $1.00 of my future business. I have been using Chem Dry in Calumet City for my carpet cleaning for over 10 years. They clean all the carpeted areas in my house (4 bedrooms, large family room and all stairs) for $130.00....I would let these people come into my house on their own...I trust them that much!!!....I paid Stanley Steemer $450.00 + for tile cleaning on 3 small bathrooms, floyer and kitchen!!!! No comparision.....and they insult me by not giving me the $25.00 discount! I even asked if it could be applied to a future service....NO...there will be no future service for me... read more

Stanley Steemer was hired to clean ducts/vents in my home built in 2015. After they finished and left my home I discovered that vents were left and not put back in place the way they found them. The next day a foul odor filled my home. I called customer service and was told that a manager would call me back. I never received a call and when I called back to inquire customer service agent Alex was very rude and condescending he told me that the manager has 10 days to respond to me. He preceded to tell me that he would reschedule techs to come back to my home. I was given a time frame of 11-4pm. At 330 I called, spoke to Alex again and was told that they would be on the way. At 5pm received a call from Laura that they would not be coming and can't come until next week??? I called off work for this appointment, missed a day's pay and still left unsatisfied. Very unprofessional. Still waiting for a remedy, still waiting for a manager to return my call, meanwhile smell that wasn't present before they did the job is present in my 6 year old home. Unacceptable! Please don't use them for this service unless you have 500.00 to pour down the drain! Still waiting.... read more

False advertising- got an actual quote and when the truck came out the price was 200.00 more than what was stated on the phone. Customer service was terrible- when they called they wanted to know why I turned the service down. I explained the situation and response was "we will pull the call and review it". Great way to keep a client- prove them wrong!!! Never will use them, be for-warned- there is no $99 dollar clearing- my bill would have been $470.00 after being quoted $250.00. Got all the carpets in my house cleaned. They did an ok job as far as removing stains goes. I paid extra for a deodorizer in one room that the guy kept pushing for me to get that I didn't even smell or feel like it made a difference. He kept trying to get me to add on all these other services and buy their products and the total he quoted was near $290 after our original quote was $154. On top of that, I found it odd that later that evening my house and car keys were missing. I spent all night looking for them. The next day I still couldn't find them and my son had to miss school. They called me late afternoon to tell me that "They had my keys and the young man doing the cleaning had "accidentally" grabbed them." I have girly/pink keychains on my keys so I don't understand how he could've gotten confused and to not even realize till the next afternoon. And all I got for my troubles was a half-hearted apology. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. The first 45 minutes was hardcore sales pitch on their products and remeasuring my house in case it grew since the last cleaning 1 1/2 years ago. The quote was fraudulent, increased by $60. My house smells like mildew due to the excess water left behind, 36 hours and our socks are still wet. The SALESMAN actually told me that the staff who gave me the estimate probably were just talking fast and I misunderstood them.
