We had Stanley Steemer come in to clean our condo shortly after we closed on it. The previous owners had a dog and had lived in the unit for more than 20 years, so the condo was definitely in need of a deep cleaning. It was a fairly large job that included multiple rooms with both carpet and hardwood flooring, as well as two couches we purchased from the previous owners. The technicians were professional, friendly, and did a good job with the floors and carpeting. Unfortunately, our experience with the couches was much more disappointing. We were initially quoted one price, but the technicians recommended additional services to give the couches a deeper cleaning, which increased the total cost. We were happy to pay the additional amount if it meant the couches would be thoroughly refreshed, especially since they were heavily covered in dog hair. However, after the additional cleaning, both couches looked essentially the same as they did beforehand in terms of the amount of dog hair. Given the extra services and cost, we were understandably disappointed and felt that the results did not match what we were led to expect. That said, the support team did a great job addressing our concerns. Daniel from the Clifton location in particular was extremely helpful, responsive, and worked with us to reach a satisfactory resolution. While the results on the couches were disappointing, we were impressed with how the situation was ultimately handled. Based on Daniel's customer service and the resolution we received, we would be willing to give Stanley Steemer another opportunity if we need their services again. read more

Fransico and Raphael did a phenomenal job on steam cleaning my couch and lounge chair. Very professional, friendly and fast plus the furniture looks brand new! Impressive job considering it was a ten year old hand me down. Definitely would consider for other jobs. read more

Despicable service. Liars. We arranged on the phone MULTIPLE TIMES with the service crew to be their first appointment. They didn't come. Called customer service - said they are on their way now - will be 1 hour late. We further cancelled work plans to accommodate. We call 1.5 hrs later - they said - sorry will be 2 hours more. 2.5 hours passed- still didn't come. WE CANCELLED WORK TO BE THERE. no ETA. Scammers. Liars. I said never again. Vote with your wallet. THEY WILL NOT COME. THEY WILL BE LATE. THEY HAVE ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. THEY PROBABLY JUST TAKE A BUNCH OF APPOINTMENTS AND have zero respect for their customer's time. So glad we moved all the vases and small things to do a 5 room job. Waste of time. Certainly will never use this ridiculous service again. read more

Excellent price. Friendly service. Quality results. For getting serious stains out of couch cushions.

I read some very negative reviews about the Clifton location and I can't understand why. I hired them to clean carpet that was only a year and a half old and in a rental property that I own in Clifton and my former tenants were unfortunately very filthy. I was afraid I was gonna have to replace the carpet as it appeared that the tenants never wiped their feet before the entered the house. They seemed to have wiped their feet all over my brand new carpet. I hired Stanley steamer to do two staircases the living room and one of the bedrooms and the carpet looks brand new. The two technicians were fast, showed up early efficient and very professional. I also thought the price was very reasonable $260 for two staircases a large living room and an average size bedroom. read more

These people are thieves. Tech went into our son's night stand, into his wallet, and took out at least $100, which my wife had just put away because it was on top of his nightstand. My wife confronted the techs about it and they falsely denied it. Manager is helping us get that money back, but sorry, the damage is done. DO NOT USE THIS BRANCH!! read more

They are terrible!!!! I had a quote and when they arrived they tried to upsell me. When I said no, the tech explained that the carpet would have a bad odor without the additional costs for $90. When I said no, he raised the price by $100. When I said, let's call the office to figure this out, he ran out the door. The office brought the cost back down and said they would send someone. They called and sent a confirmation but no one showed up. I am over 60 with a leg in a brace because of a detached Achilles. They are ageist and ableist... Terrible people!!! read more

The technician immediately tried to upsell me to get me to spend more than double the estimate. I sent them away. I will clean it myself. I detest when men come to do work and assume that because I am a woman I will listen to whatever they say. It is beyond insulting. Will never trust them or any other carpet service again. read more

Apparently it's only suggestion. Never again...will shop local from now on. Food for thought if you book online you should also call them to book again as their internet booking might be disconnected from their actual booking system. Do not use this Stanley Steemer location -- everything is handled by the national company. They don't even have a working number for this franchise. The local owner's number is not in service, and the national number is not helpful. The men who came to clean tried hard to upsell me, saying the basic cleaning wouldn't do much. They did a good job, except for the kitchen grout, which did not look clean. Avoid this franchise. read more

Servicing location: Philly South - 056 7860 Airport highway Pennsauken, NJ 08109 (800) 783-3637 Service Address: Lumberton, NJ Service Date 9/27/2024 Invoice # 12891362-56 Customer # 5464738-43 On 9/20/24, indoor tile stripping and cleaning service was scheduled. Two servicemen came and prepped the kitchen, dinette and laundry room areas. After completing the stripping job, the tile appeared blotchy. Some areas dull and shiny throughout the entire area. Informed a repeat cleaning would be required using a stronger stripping solution which the workers did not have available. A second visit was scheduled to redo the job. This required supervisory approval and it was obtained via a phone call that same day. 9/27/24 date rescheduled. Technicians returned and repeated the work. Upon completion, the tile floor has a consistent dull sheen appearance. But the lower portion of the cabinet panels to a counter peninsula in the kitchen appeared wet in comparison to the remaining upper area. The tech told me this would dry and would be fine. This never occurred and the lower portion of my cabinets had dark splotches along with darkened discoloration of the kick plates along with baseboards that were stripped of paint and wood scraped. Reported this to the company via multiples calls and emails. Multiple pictures sent to them along with sending them to my insurance company. To date they have not taken accountability for the damages caused by their machinery or provided me with reimbursement for the payment they received. General Mgr: P.O. and Branch Mgr: D.I. have not taken accountability to reimburse for the repairs needed. read more

One Star because - when Stanley Steemer ruined our 6'x14' fine wool rug, they handed over the case to their Insurance Adjuster, rather than taking responsibility themselves for the replacement. Background: Previously, we had recently used Stanley Steemer on two occasions where the work was perfect. Therefore, we were quick to call them to remove a few mud footprints on our hall rug. All seemed well, and the rug was cleaned. I paid over $600 for the service at that time. However, the rug would not flatten out; ripples persisted. SS came back and took the rug to their NY workroom where the final restitution did not succeed. We were told the rug was irreparably damaged. I cannot vouch for how the rug became damaged ... too much steam? I do not know. I just know that Stanley Steemer washed their hands of the incident, turned it over to an insurance adjuster, and moved on without being supportive of a loyal customer. I spent almost 2 months haggling with their adjuster about what was fair and right because of Stanley Steemer's carelessness. I got nowhere. The adjuster was not going to give us the replacement cost for our very fine rug. Although the rug was 9 years old, it was in perfect condition and would have lasted us a lifetime. I provide this information for your consideration only. Be alert - Accidents can happen and when they do, you want to be dealing with a company that will not run away from their customer obligations. Stanley Steemer's services are broad; their work can be superb; but accidents can happen, and that's when you want SS taking full responsibility for any incurred damage. Otherwise, you will be left like we were - receiving a pittance from their insurance adjuster for a very big blunder. We used the Stanley Steemer of Edison, NJ and live in Princeton, NJ. read more

I scheduled a service appointment and was given an 8-1 service window. I called the morning of my appointment to confirm that someone was in fact coming. The representative told me that she could not provide me with an ETA. Then I called back at around 1:05 only to be told that things were running late and the technician would arrive within the hour. I did not get notification from the company until 4:40 that someone was on their way. Needless to say....i canceled the service. Please don't waste your time or money on Stanley Steemer. You can likely find a local less commercial company that respects your time and provides a better quality service. read more

Toms River NJ-Long read but worth it, might help you when your alarms go off. I would leave a NEGATIVE number if I could. Plus I should have read the reviews first. We needed family room, walk in closet, 3 bedrooms, hallway and 2 stair sets. I admit the carpets are old and there are some stains, but it looked like they just ran the machine over the carpet leaving lines in the carpet and not getting out any dirt even in the UN-walked on areas. They were out in a little over an hour?? How?? When my realtor went in, the Carbon Monoxide alarm was going off. I called Stanley steamer tech who said yes it went off but they shut it off and they were finished so they left. The alarm is going off and they just left?? They didn't even think to call me?? The realtor called the Fire dept who called police and then the levels on the 3rd floor were so high with CM we had to stay out of the house for 3 hours with windows open. WHY? Because they backed their truck to the garage and left it running into my house all that time. So the house filled with carbon monoxide. On top of that, even the Fire dept and police could not believe the carpets were even touched. I complained to Stanley steamer about the whole situation and said I wanted my money back. They said only thing they could do was come back and clean again. I was not happy but said ok. Better than nothing. BUT leave your truck out of the driveway or something. I don't need CM in the house AGAIN. Well needless to say they still look the same and this crew was also out of there in a little over an hour. I state how horrible the job is because I went in with my home upright carpet cleaning machine and did a small section. Guess what, when you take your time and go over the area properly you can see the difference. I did not expect all the stains to come up but I did expect areas to be clean. They did a Horrible job and I am out almost $500.00-guess I will have to pay someone AGAIN...house cannot be sold with the carpets looking like this. I am moving into a village in North Jersey and they were looking for someone to do a group cleaning of the homes here and vents. Guess who we AREN'T going to use. Not even for Vent cleaning. My Suggestion "Hire someone off the internet, it has to be better than this" Again, How can you clean that much is a little over an hour. WORST COMPANY EVER. read more

The two service guys that came were so professional, kind and courteous. The lady in the office on the other hand had no customer service qualities whatsoever. As a local customer of over 12 years, I was very satisfied with Stanley Steemer in past years. I liked your quote of $266 and arranged to have them come Tuesday morning , March 14. When two technicians arrived yesterday I was alone in my house. Please listen to me, the experience was disturbing, even frightening. I was shaking when they left. I felt these men "double teamed" me throughout, seemingly friendly but persistent, overly persistent. Talking and talking. There were upward of TWENTY interactions over additional services. With me refusing, and they endlessly coming back at me over the * amount of carpeting to be cleaned * additional services * pricing * then their discount after supposed discount As I consistently refused services I was ignored and met with additional questionable sales tactics. And I felt they were deliberately confusing me, going quickly, making supposed calls to management, When they began to work it took less than 20 minutes. I'm not even sure I got those additional services they claimed. As I've described this was an overwhelming, disturbing experience. You will apparently tell me I signed your documents, I would counter that I was intimidated and behaved nicely just to get them out of my house. They are destroying what was once a respected marketplace brand. read more

Got a quote from a representative for one carpeted staircase to be cleaned. All of my floors are hardwood - did not need cleaning. She said it would be $124.00 because they can't come out unless it costed that much. She said they would add the deodorizer to fill in for the amount so I can get my money's worth. The workers showed up, and said it would cost $280. I said NO. I was quoted $124.00. He then said, $230. I said NO, this isn't about haggling. I was quoted a price and would like my stairs cleaned. As they're in their van, he sticks his head out of the window (can't even make this stuff up) and yells, "Ok! Ok! $124 but no deodorizer!" "NO! Go home!" The End. read more

I've never used Stanley Steemer before. I was moving into my new home, which has brand new tile floors. I decided to hire Stanley to steam and seal my floors, before I move into the house. The rep showed up when they were supposed to, but said they were not told about the sealer, so someone would call us to reschedule. The rep did advise that we may want to clean the grout before they seal, as the steamer won't get out all the construction grime. The rep was helpful. Five days later, I had not received a call to reschedule, so I called Stanley. The rep said "You are on the schedule for today, actually." I said this won't work, and no one called me to reschedule. I also asked what product they would recommend for cleaning grout on marble floors. The nice lady didn't know, but said the manager would call me to advise what product is best. Again, no one called. On the day of my 2nd appt, the rep calls to say, "I'm really sorry, but I left the shop without sealer, so we need to reschedule." I told the guy that at this point, I'm going to cancel. I've done the research myself about how to do a deep clean, and I will seal the floors myself. It's laughable how bad Stanley is. All they did is cause a headache, and they never even did the job - on two separate dates! Maybe I should thank them. After doing my own research, I now know how to do the job myself and saved money. I was looking forward to the convenience; it was only a headache. read more

Stanley Steemer's final cost was about 70% more than their written estimate. I got an estimate from Stanely Steemer, as well as from a previous service I'd used, for a family room carpet cleaning, and ceramic tile cleaning/ color sealing in a foyer, a half bath, and two full baths. I gave the person I spoke with (on the phone) the sizes of all these spaces. They emailed me an estimate of $ 729.32. They came in under the estimate of the company I'd used previously, so I decided to give them a try. When the technicians arrived (they arrived shortly after 1 pm, had been told they would be here between 8 am-1 pm), they told me the actual cost would be over $1300, which was about 70% more than the estimate. We had company coming, and had moved out furniture-- the choice was to say OK to that 70% increase, or say no, and not get anything done. They kind of had us over a barrel-- I signed off on that. I called both the local Clifton Stanley Steemer branch, as well as the national number the next day, to complain about the huge discrepancy between the emailed estimate and the actual price. They told me they would give me $150 off my next service. I told them I'd never be using them again!!! Their technicians were very nice, and did a good job. However, if i'd known it was going to turn out to be so much more than the estimate, I would have gone with the company I'd used before. (Their estimate was way more accurate when we used them.) read more

I also indicated it was a high rise. A certificate of insurance is required (Stanley Steemer knows this- it is not the first time I used the service). On day of service at 9:45 I received a text saying technician was on the way. At 11:00 I received another text, on the way. At 12:30 I called and was told the service was for 1pm to 6. I told them about 3 confirmation emails and texts. Story changed-they were on the way. Showed up at 3:10 WITHOUT certificate of insurance and said office closed early and they could not get one. Called them to remove cat urine odor from a couch. They told me it would be no problem at all. The technician was very nice and professional and two of his managers also came. However, after convincing me to spend the extra money to clean the entire couch because "urine travels" I am left with an extremely stinky couch. I contacted the technician who told me that the tools available to him would not sufficiently get into the area that needed to be clean (in between the fixed cushions) therefore, stanley steemer would not be able to do the job to get the smell out. I am forced to call another service quickly because cat urine cannot be left. After contacting Stanly steemer at least 4 times for a refund I have yet to get a manager to call me back. I am now out $225 for a couch that still smells like cat urine. Don't use them!!! They don't stand behind their promises. read more

Been using Stanley Steemer for quite a number of years. I ordered cleaning services for two sofas and my kitchen floor. The gentlemen came to my house and immediately tried to jack up the price!! What was told to us is that the sofas we have is larger than a "normal" sofa and they needed to charge $60 more per sofa. I changed my sofas since the last time we used STanley Steemer but the size of the sofas have been the same. We never had an upcharge like this before!! Then they proceeded to look at my kitchen and said, "your kitchen is bigger than a usual kitchen so we need to charge more as well". So there are no parameters that say what size a kitchen should be and also it does not differentiate the sofa sizes as well on their website. What is the point of having me order the services on the website and then overcharge when they get to our house. To charge us 70 dollars more per couch for protection and almost 80 dollars per couch just to deodorize is utterly ridiculous!! read more
