It is with great dismay after years of being a loyal, regular patient of Dr. Stanley Shiff's I will no longer be returning to him (or to his daughter's) practice. Not for their lack of knowledge nor credibilities or even professionalism but simply to the fact I have not once in the over 20 years I've visited Dr. Shiff felt welcomed there or comfortable for that matter due to one employee.
Shelly, for over 20 years she has been rude, inappropriate and down right mean to me. Via it over the phone, by e-mail or in person, Shelly has not once said anything to nice to me and from my understanding for no reasoning. I will never forget being told from her as a child "that if I kept up with my dental hygiene my teeth would fall out like my fathers", knowing my dad has dentures. My godmother, cousins & my own mother have been regular clients of Dr. Shiff for years. Last Thursday (18/05/10) I had an appointment scheduled for the mid-afternoon, unfortunately that morning I woke up at 6:00 am with at the time was quite serious chest pains and I was having a slight difficulty breathing. After a few hours had gone by and after laying on the ground suffering in pain for a little while I decided to call off my day and head to the hospital. When calling to cancel my appointment with Dr.Shiff (yes, I realized that it was a double scheduled appointment) the phone was answered by no other than, Shelly where she proceeded to give me grief as to the fact that I wouldn't make it to the scheduled appointment.
After being hung up on by Shelly and spending the ladder part of the afternoon in the civic hospital (They move you a long a lot faster when you're there suffering from chest pains because of the possible severity). It was without another thought that I decided that I will no longer ever be going to that dentists office again other than to deliver the doctors note from the hospital to Shelly personally to ensure she doesn't try and charge my parents insurance companies or them for the appointment(s). Now that I am an adult with my own coverage, I finally bid you adieu Shelly. NO ONE likes going to the dentist, no one should have to deal with a receptionist that's worse than the dentists tools.. read more
