During my visit, the dental team failed to retrieve my previous X-rays, never mentioned that I had a cavity, and seemed far more focused on aesthetics than my actual oral health. After switching to a new dentist, I discovered I had a cavity that had progressed significantly due to the lack of care and attention at Star Dental. I was told it could have eventually required a root canal if left untreated. On top of that, I waited over an hour just to pick up a night guard that cost me nearly $700, only for it to break within five months. There were also billing issues throughout the process. I was charged roughly $300 more than originally quoted. The front desk staff told me they would contact my insurance company regarding the discrepancy, but when I followed up a week later, nothing had been done, and I never heard back from them again. Overall, I left feeling misled, overcharged, and neglected as a patient. I paid premium prices for poor-quality care and a product that did not last. When I later discussed my experience with my new dentist, they were shocked by what had happened.

She said "he's just being picky". I'm in my 40's. I don't need "perfect" teeth. Especially when my gums are at risk. Dr. Saikaly wanted my treatments to continue so he can charge me more. Now I have to spend more money on my teeth so my teeth don't fall out. I trusted Dr. Saikaly and I feel robbed.

I said to her that even if I had to go to the other side of the city I would find a way!! She told me the address, 2199 Carling Ave.and his name was Dr. P.V. Nguyen. Had a rough time pronounceing his name but when I met the man he was way more than what I expected!! Here I was, with my walker for spinal issues, standing in this new dentist's office which is very open & airy talking with a fascinating woman who said that I would be taken care of shortly. WOW!! I thought...so far so good! He offered me an incredible dental chair that when I sat in it I felt like it was like nothing I have ever felt before! Special to say the least! I even began to wonder if this cost extra! I couldn't believe my luck, he also gave me some of that old laughing gas(nitrous oxide). Well that was the first day of something special for me... going back to this dentist has become an easy chore every time I return. He is the most gentle dentist and even a friend who had a huge fear of dentists now happily visits him regularly for cleanings and checkups. The offices are clean, staff are friendly from the walk in through to the assistants and hygienists, everyone you meet is gentle, kind, and extremely knowledgeable about their jobs. The equipment is excellent and Dr Song keeps up on technology - I've been seeing him for a few years now and the office is always updating to the best tools available. They do direct billing if you are covered by insurance and they always do the work that's needed, but nothing more. I can't praise Dr Song or his team and office highly enough. I hope to never have to find a new dentist again.
