From the start, the staff was unhelpful and disorganized. After confirming with my insurance that the office was covered and accepting new patients, I went in for my first appointment, confirmed everything, and had my initial visit. However, when I arrived for my next scheduled appointment, I waited as usual, was taken in, and began the appointment. Then, out of nowhere, the front desk came into the room and told me they no longer accepted my insurance and couldn't see my child anymore. They claimed they weren't taking any new patients, but my child had already been seen before--this was her second appointment! Why was this not communicated when we scheduled? Why check me in and start the appointment only to stop halfway through? It's clear this office cares more about what kind of insurance you have than actually providing care. This is both unethical and morally wrong. I left feeling frustrated and unheard. I expect much more professionalism and care when it comes to my child's well-being. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Ayuste Pediatrics and would not recommend them to other parents.

They have 1 lady, Brenda, who very clearly does not know how to do her job. She left me an extremely rude voicemail about a claim from over a year ago. This was the first time this claim was being brought to my attention and Brenda told me my insurance has been waiting on additional information from me for this claim to be processed - which is completely false. She told me I was responsible for working with my insurance company to get this cleared up. Brenda could not articulate what was needed, just that someone needed to pay this claim. It turns out this claim was paid in full by my husbands insurance. Brenda said my insurance still needed to pay it (even though it was covered 100% by my husbands) because she doesnt have a way of keeping track that payment was received. I spent multiple hours on the phone with both brenda and united healthcare and it turned out united healthcare had all the proof that payment was made. They told me I should not be involved since I am the patient in this instance and the doctors office should work directly with the insurance company. My insurance rep called Brenda and actually had to hang up on her because Brenda was yelling at her and being extremely disrespectful'. The UH rep was trying to help and explain which policy paid,when they paid, proof of payment, etc. Its very obvious Brenda messed the billing up on her end and doesn't know how to get out of it. Very disappointing in the amount of hours I had to personally spend on this matter because billing doesn't know how to keep track of payments received. Not sure if she didn't get the proper training, or is new, but in no instance should they be able to speak to a patient or insurance rep the way Brenda did.

After searching and reading reviews of many different doctors, we settled on Dr. Melanie Lachman at All-Star Pediatrics. I knew we had found a winner the first time we met her. Our daughter was definitely experiencing the usual anxiety of a doctors office and began to cry when she laid eyes on Dr. Lachman. In order to sooth her, Dr. Lachman began to sing to her. Something so small really touched me deeply. I knew that she would always treat our child to the best of her abilities, even if it meant singing to her. Really, what more could we ask for??? Since that first visit, we have not been disappointed. All Star has always been able to accommodate us in a timely fashion and even at times where our baby has suddenly fallen ill. Their offices are conveniently located to our home and there is always available parking right outside of the door. The waiting room is nothing fancy, but comfortable. The staff and nurses here area also equally wonderful and have great bedside manners. My son has been a patient here for seven years, and I've finally decided we will not be returning…read more At his recent seven-year checkup, I received a $130 bill because the office tried to classify it as a "double visit." After multiple calls and days of waiting, I was told the charge wouldn't be covered because I had asked for a letter for speech therapy. Even worse, the original explanation given to me was that we were charged because "autism was brought up" during the visit. This is absolutely unacceptable. My son has been on the spectrum --why would I be charged extra for discussing his health during a well visit? If this was truly a "double visit," that should have been communicated upfront, not hidden in the billing process. It feels dishonest and misleading. Families who already have enough to manage should not have to fight surprise charges or be made to feel like discussing their child's diagnosis is somehow billable. After this experience, I cannot recommend this office. Parents deserve transparency, compassion, and honesty in their child's care, and unfortunately, that is not what we received here.
