I agree with all of the people leaving reviews who are put off by the receptionist. I totally get it and I had the same impression before I was actually able to be seen by Dr. So. But, if you can get past that, and just chalk it up to some people are just offputting, the Dr is amazing. I saw him about 10 sessions for severe chronic sciatic pain/piriformis syndrome. I had tried everything, physical therapy, anti inflammatory medicine, muscle relaxers, steroid injection. Nothing ever helped, until I started receiving acupuncture treatment. This is literally the only thing that has ever worked, and it works extremely well. Trust me, I don't appreciate the poor customer service from the lady at the front (she's actually his wife) but if you are able to endure it (lol) and just let it go, it will be the best decision you've ever made! I was recommended to Dr. So by my massage therapist who swore by him! I took my boyfriend who's had issues with his back for many years and he's also been currently battling some stomach issues that we've received no answers from doctors for almost two years. While the stomach problems are still occurring but not as strong, his back pain has went away! We only did one session with him but we are planning on going back soon and hoping he can give him some relief for his stomach issues. They are booked a couple of weeks in advanced so make sure to call asap! read more

They need to do something about the terrible person who works up front. She is rude and very abrupt. She does not convey the messages well. When I went there I told her she said my appointment was today Monday not the 30th but she continued to argue the point. Never tried to fix the situation or be helpful at all. She speaks broken English and wears a mask and is hard to understand. The doctor was nice but i never seen him was his has or wear gloves for the procedure but wire a mask, what irony. This place doesn't answer the phone then after multiple calls then they answer and the first thing they say is about money not "how can we help you" "we want to help you feel better" I understand I have or may have a copay for my medical but what about making me feel welcome to your office and you the service you are about to provide before you tell me ok you pay X amount of money this is ridiculous it's not the first time I have been to a place for acupuncture and I was never treated this way! Called to inquire about an appointment and gave my insurance information because it was asked for. Receptionist said she had to call to verify insurance and would call me back. Never called back. Very next day I called again to see about getting an appointment because my insurance says they accept it, was told "Always full" "No appointment". I asked when the next available appointment was and was told again "always full" "no appointment". Very rude. Was provided no help. Took all my insurance information and never called me back. This makes this establishment seem very sketchy and I wouldn't trust the other reviews. read more

This place was listed as a provider for my health insurance. I called and she instantly said you have to pay the co-pay and you have to pay full price. Cash only now I've gone here several times and I know it's cash only but now that I have insurance I wanted to go here more. Dr. So is very good however, his wife upfront has no skill set and no idea on how medical billing works.. they kept telling me you need a co-pay. My wife and I shelled out $240. We met our co-pay so the third time I went in. She says it's $60 and I says I've met it and she says we haven't gotten paid yet, so when we get paid will reimburse you? WTF!!! so I didn't have an appointment that day because I was not going to pay another $60 just because they don't understand what the hell is going on . I come to find out that I should never have given them $60. I should've only given them my co-pay. I hope that I get my money back minus the co-pay but every time I call she tells me we haven't gotten paid yet. He comes out one day all pissed off and says I can't work for free, which tells me they have no clue as how medical billing works and if they had somebody to do the billing and the coding for them, they would get paid but with that mindset and the fact that they don't have a card reader for health, savings accounts or debit cards or credit cards is very sketchy. I don't even know how they haven't lost their business or closed yet because of the way they operate. This is not just some random bad review because I just feel like messing with a business. I agree with everyone on here about the receptionist. I've never been to this place before it was my first time, I walk in and she just stares at me. Doesn't say anything doesn't welcome me nothing like a receptionist should, I thought I walked into the wrong place at first, so we are silent for a couple minutes waiting for her to do her job and she doesn't so I finally say "um hello, I'm here for an appointment" off the bat she is rude she barely says two words to me and then the says it's cash only wish I thought was weird and very sketchy. So I have to reschedule and again she's being very rude and barely speaking, and as I walk out the office she mumbles something. Now the fact that everyone has mentioned her terrible customer service and how she doesn't preform her duties and yet you keep her there, you're losing business. I'm never going to return and apparently so is everyone else that had an issue with her. Your losing business because of a women who can't preform her job right and can't communicate with people properly or nicely, by all means if thats what you want to do then go ahead but just know your going to ruin your business by it. read more

Dr is very knowledgeable. I felt a relief that I could not get from chiropractors, MD's. Neurologists, becoming a vegetarian, remedies etc. Just so you know my main problem is migraines. I like that he's not pushy like saying to come back 2-3 times a week or something like that. I will come back for another round of acupuncture and this has nothing to do with the Dr I just need it for maintenance. Try him, his service is so worth every dollar. read more

First time doing acupuncture, but I was pleasantly surprised by how low stress this was. Dr Son communicated at each step, explaining the origin and reasons behind each step and made sure I was ok before moving forward. My chronic sciatica was greatly relieved after one appointment and I know as it flares up again, I can come back at my request vs feeling pressure to repeat at specific intervals. read more

I wrestled with whether or not I should make this review since I figured it would make it even harder for me and my family and friends to get in to see Dr. Son. But since I rely a lot on reviews I figured the right thing to do would be to do one. :) I went in for muscle knots. I've had them for years and I've tried everything -- massage, electrolytes and supplements, getting on thyroid medication, chiropractor (although that helped other things) etc. Nothing worked. After the first treatment I noticed a big decrease in the amount of knots I had. Even better after the second and third treatments. It's really remarkable. I have noticed after the last two sessions that I felt this energy shifting in my body, which felt like slight muscle tension. It especially traveled to my areas of muscle knotting and afterwards I noticed release and better range of motion in those areas. It's a very noticeable difference and I'm a believer! I also had more energy and brain function yesterday (the day after my third treatment) but I don't know for sure that it was from acupuncture. I work as a nurse and I spoke to one of the doctors at work about it. He called himself a skeptic (I know this to be true) but said that acupuncture is the real deal and he refers patients for acupuncture for back pain all the time because it works. Dr. Son told me he's been doing this for over 30 some years. I chose him because he was so much cheaper than the other office I called. He's a no pressure person and when I asked him how often I need to come he just said that whenever I am not feeling well, I'll know that it's time to come. He did not try to get me to come regularly or anything like that. But my results have been so good that I know I will continue to see him to a certain degree indefinitely. We had to kill some time while he was treating me so I asked him to tell me some of his favorite success stories while we waited. He casually spoke of patients with lung disease, severe weight loss and malnutrition, and infertility who he recently had very good success with. Apparently he currently has three women who are pregnant who have previously been unable to become pregnant or stay pregnant. I believe these stories to be truthful because he wasn't trying to boast (I asked him), the manner he told them, the fact that he isn't trying to get me in his office for more money, and now I have done more research on acupuncture and believe that it can do those things, depending on the person's problems. Dr So is the best acupuncturist I've been to and I've been to several in the area and in the Bay Area. He is the first doctor who ever asked about other potential symptoms based on other symptoms I told him I was experiencing. Scheduling appointments can be tricky, and they take cash only but it's well worth it. I go to him when I have a cold, feel run down/stressed or have any ache or pain.
