Came here as a recommendation from a friend. She bought the six week boot camp for $99 as her new…read moreyears resolution and absolutely raved about it! So i decided to join her one day as her plus one. First off, know that you have to drive all the way to the back of the plaza to find it. But there's plenty of parking. The studio is run by two nice trainers: Sally and Jordan. They are very open and all about helping you. They tell you their story and listen to yours. It's all about setting goals and appreciating the little accomplishments. First thing when you walk in is that it's one big room. Not little alcoves here and there. Just a huge mat for you to get sweaty on. I did notice there's not one mirror- which is quite interesting. There is complementary child care and very nice locker rooms. They are like to do one on one meetings to check in with you every other week. Their hours are a bit wonky so check the class schedule each week before coming in. But what I like most about this place is that if you can't do a conventional push up, they find another way to get your body to work the same muscles. My advice? Come try it out!

They advertise a floating floor which is great for joints however for me, I felt that the jumping moves were not always stable. I have witnessed at least 3 people become injured during the class and Im sure that there's been more. In order to make the workout less repetitive, they try to incorporate new moves that aren't completely safe. Yes, you can modify, however now the workout is less effective. On top of injuries, the lead trainer Kristen talks nonstop throughout the workout. Nonstop. Its distracting and makes the workout even less enjoyable. She is also difficult to deal with when it comes to billing issues and mistakes and will not give out any additional people to contact, simply tells you to email. The one plus, if you have children, childcare is included. The room is clean, and most of the sitters are interactive with the kids. However, if you dont have kids, your still paying for childcare. My advice is stay away from this gym. I was a member for over a year and ended my membership when they told me I was going to be charged a annual $49 maintenance fee. This fee was to be used to upkeep the gym, buy new equipment and make improvements. I never saw any of these things, only seeing equipment that was worn and needed to be replaced. ( medicine balls) There are alot of similar gyms out there that aren't nickle and diming you to death, and charging you for services you dont use. They also don't have a long term contracts. Buyer beware!

But it wound up being more expensive per session. They do a lot of partnering stuff which brings me a lot of anxiety causing me to have panic attacks, which causes me to go even less. Great work outs though and knowledgeable staff. Very difficult to cancel, so now I am just donating money to them every month until my contract ends.

I'm a mid 40's male and now almost exclusively train with Kettlebells while occasionally adding in some sandbags and running. Since early 2020 I left the confines of the gym and went to the local high school track in the mornings and have never looked back. I have just about an hour each morning and Mike's programming fits perfectly into that slot with most days running about 46:00 max from start to finish. Using another app for a timer I plug in the routines with some built in rest and it's magic, I'm feeling stronger and more well rounded in my fitness than any of my years in a CrossFit box

I needed to find a well-educated, professional, and experienced trainer to work with (until I feel ready to participate in a class by myself). I am very impressed with Cross Fit AR's first free workout. After that, the next four sessions cost $25 each. After the four sessions, I could have started classes. I chose personal training and could not be more pleased Don't get me wrong, it's very challenging for me. Ian, my trainer, pays close attention to my form, frustration level and when I need to keep pushing to the "next level." Unlike trainers I have worked with in the past, Ian genuinely appears interested and doesn't just "get by" with a cookie-cutter workout. I have also trained with Danielle. She is also extremely talented and good at making workouts challenging, yet fun. There are regular "classes" with the Workouts of the Day - these are customized for every individual. I was very impressed to learn that there are also very structured classes for kids. I know that there are a multitude of "Cross Fit" options available. I urge you to give Cross Fit AR Strength a try.

Ian, Corey, and the other coaches really helped push me beyond what I thought I could do. I left with some great results and even better friends. I try to go back whenever I am in the area as I have yet to find a gym (traditional or CrossFit box) that challenges me in the way that this place has. Highly recommend!

So here we go - my pros and cons Pros - Friendly and welcoming owner Mel greeted me and chatted while we waited for the class to begin. He is a very nice man and even made me laugh a few times. Plus for not having that 'gym machismo' factor. Pro - This workout is intense - I'm pretty fit, but I got my butt handed to me so much so that the next day I went out and purchased a fitbit heart rate monitor so I can see how close to cardiac arrest I am should I ever go back. Pro - This is a total body workout - strength, cardio, balance, they hit all the zones. Pro - First three classes are free - that is very generous, most places offer your first class and then you're on your own. Cons - There was no stretch what so ever. The class ended and everyone just left. I was kinda left there looking around like "is this it?" Mel said I was more than welcome to stay and stretch if I like, but they dont do it. I felt kinda odd since other's were coming in and so I just left. Cons - I am a person who need a class card. I travel a lot and so I purchase class cards so that I can use them when I'm in the area. This is the type of place that you need to buy a membership. I don't live in the area, but would love to work out here if I'm working in this part of Jersey. Cons - I hate putting this down as a con, but here goes. When this class was taking place we were just told to which exercises to do, there was no demonstration. I know what almost all of the names of things are but even so, there were two or three things that I wasn't sure what they were and I had to look at my fellow exercisers to see what they were doing. It would have been good to see something demonstrated or to have received some correction and adjustment to prevent injury. I would be back if they sold class cards and used something like #MindBodyOnline so I could see their schedule and book classes - but that is only if they sold class cards. If you are very very new to working out, you may find this to be an intensely challenging class.

Quite possibly the best butt-kicking money can buy. No two workout sessions are alike, and expect…read moreto get a full-body workout each time. Mel definitely knows what he is doing and genuinely care about each and every person in the class.
