Excellent service! First time using Independent Electrical Services. Will definitely use them when…read moreI need an electrician again. The owner, Dave came out to estimate the small job. I needed an outlet installed for a new tankless water heater that I was planning to have installed. As I was getting estimates for the new tankless water heater, my old water heater started leaking a lot of water into my laundry/utility room, so I needed to act quickly. When he came out to estimate the outlet installation he asked if I had found a plumber yet for the water heater installation. I told him I had an estimate from a local company but I thought it was kind of high. The two other plumbers who I had estimates from we are no longer able to take the job because of staffing issues due to COVID-19. Dave said he knew a good plumber and called him on the spot. He FaceTimed so that the plumber could see the job. The plumber he recommended was able to give me an estimate within a couple of hours. And came in $700 lower than the previous plumbers estimate. Plus he could do the job the very next day. Hurray! The plumber that Dave recommended came out and did a great job on the tankless water heater installation! They worked in a tight space in an old house and even were able to run my vents up through an attic and crawlspace and out behind a chimney so that they cannot be seen from the front of the house. Then Independent Electric Services came out and did a perfect job on the outlet installation for which I had originally contacted them. If I had not called Independent Electric Services I would've spent more money on my water heater and I would probably still be trying to get the job done. Dave made it happen fast, competently, and at a great price! I cannot recommend this company enough.

The owner of the company Dave was very receptive and responsive to all of my questions and concerns. The work they did was top notch and the price was more than fair. They were reliable, punctual, and did clean work. I would highly recommend them to anyone for any residential, commercial, or industrial needs.

If I had an electrical issue, I would trust Greg to provide a fair and honest assessment. Full…read moredisclosure, I only spoke to Greg on the phone for a consultation because our schedule did not align and I needed someone to come out urgently. A few weeks ago, I noticed a burning smell in my basement and followed it to the electrical closet. I spoke to Greg on the phone about the issue and he was very professional and honest of what he could and could not do about the elusive issue. Most importantly, he did not use any scare tactics. Unfortunately, he had a client that day so my husband found another company to come to diagnose the issue. After opening and thoroughly examining the electrical box, the person could not find the problem and recommended an escalation to perform a full diagnosis, which would be nearly $500. I called Greg and he talked to me out of my panic. He also recommended a solution to test for the source myself. Later that day, my husband and I took Greg's advice and we were able to narrow it down to our home security system. Having an electrical issue is always scary, but I am grateful to find someone like Greg who is honest, and actually goes out of his way to educate his customers.

Greg answered my call immediately and was very generous in recommending detailed troubleshooting…read moretechniques and a general assessment of potential causes of my issue even though he did not have immediate availability to address my issue in person. He recommended a trusted colleague and invited me to reach back out if I had any further questions or concerns. I'll keep his number handy for future reference, and would recommend Greg to you for your electrician needs.

I "tried" to speak with a man (assume it was the owner), but from the start he did not listen to…read morewhat I was saying.  I began by telling him he had a guy at our townhouse "condo" community the day before doing some work for one of our owners. I said again we are a condominium community and wanted to see if they could quote work for us that included replacing a light fixture on the exterior of a Unit.  I explained the fixture is approximately 18 to 20 feet from the ground, mounted on the balcony roof overhang.  So here I gave him all these details but he starts asking me why isn't the homeowner calling.  So I repeated myself saying we are a condo community and the Association is responsible for this and AGAIN told him the light fixture is approximately 18 to 20 feet from the ground thus would need a ladder.  He then tells me before he can quote the job he will need for me to take a picture from my cell phone and send it to him so he can determine whether the job can be done with a 6 foot ladder or if it needs something higher. Obviously this guy is tone deaf.  But then it gets worse,  I said I usually do send emails with pictures, but his website doesn't have an email, and before I could tell him my cell phone plan doesn't include data so I can't send a picture via a text, he rudely interrupts me and begins speaking in a slow condescending manner saying again I need to take a picture with my cell phone so he can determine what the job entails.  That's when I said I can't do that and don't like your attitude, so forget it! I tell my neighbor who used their service only to learn she got the same treatment from this guy along with his worker who came out to do her job. I am female but have enough knowledge in home repairs to carry on an intelligent conversation with a contractor. Maybe this guy doesn't like talking to women.

HIGGINS ELECTRIC -- DREAM TEAM TURNED IT AROUND. Must read!…read more New to the Media area, just closed on a condo and 1 day later ... ELECTRIC ISSUES! With specific electric outage switch issues throughout the new (but dated) place (ie kitchen, dining room and bedrooms). I thought I was being Punk'd - I haven't even unpacked! BASED ON A REFERRAL Called HIGGINS ELECTRIC - I spoke to Theresa (so nice and solution-oriented), who put me at ease and ultimately dispatched some of their best electricians, Krista and Bob! Krista and Bob both came (after confirming every step of the way via text or call/ their arrival, next steps etc)... masked, helpful, kind, friendly- PROFESSIONAL -- straight to the point. Like CSI-"Where's this issue!? What did you experience, etc" They both went to their detective work. Very thorough, asking questions and checking outlets and overhead wiring, panels, etc. THE SOLVE/RESOLUTION HIGGINS ELECTRIC TEAM soon identified a a random switch outlet in the condo that was rigged to control all those rooms (who knew?) HIGGINS ELECTRIC TEAM soon updated my outdated electric wiring: replacing my kitchen ballast and switch; swapped out my dining room fixture; and updated the master bed room light/ceiling fan with LED/remote control fixture! THE SWEET SPOT From being so very upset, frustrated and despondent about the electricity in my 1st new place, I was immediately transformed to a place of THANKS AND APPRECIATION above and beyond! and loving the fabulous and functional updates! HIGGINS ELECTRIC TEAM ROCKS! I recently learned this is a family owned business operating in The area over 75 years - and still going strong! you will see why... They deliver! they are knowledgeable! they are Professional and fair!
