I highly recommend pops electric!! I had a hard time finding an electrician. Two different personal referrals canceled or didn't show on me! So I reached out to Bob who responded to my request on a Wednesday evening and was out to fix my power line on Friday morning, right on time. Bob the owner was super friendly and respectful! He explained what the plan was before he started the work and wrapped up in under two hours (he had to install a junction box in my dining room to replace a power line going to my air conditioner). The work was clean, priced as quoted, and quick! Can't ask for more than that right?? We had someone come and attempt to do the work and the young person was pretty much clueless and couldn't fix the issue so we had to call another company and they immediately knew how to fix the issue yet Pops still wanted full money for a failed job. However, I recently reached out to Pop's Electric for a quote to install four ceiling fans and install another electrical line. I asked if he was interested in the work? I was texted back by his Office and said yes! He requested a picture of the fans and a picture of the electrical panel. So, I provided everything he required for a quote and was told that Bob the Owner would provide a quote. A few days later, I reached out by text to the Office as I have been communicating with Pop's Electric and heard nothing in six days. Absolutely nothing! I like these guys - I used them to help me install an EV charger for my home - but it is painful trying to actually get the process started. I can't imagine how much money they are turning away. They offer free estimates but it takes LITERAL months to hear back from them, and you have to be the one following up with them. It took me about 3 months to get my estimate for the EV charger, and another two months for the permit process, so almost a total of 5 months to actually start the job. I wanted to use them again, thinking it was a fluke, but I'm still waiting on a simple quote to replace 3 light fixtures in my home from September (I'm writing this in November) even after following up. I reached out to another electrician 3 days ago who just charges by the fixture and he's coming out in 3 days. That's how it *should* be. I doubt I'll hear back from POPS by the end of this year. They gotta figure out their estimate process -- from the reviews, it's their biggest downfall. The one thing I do appreciate is that the pricing is relatively fair and the electricians themselves that came out for my EV charger, although like the [two] stooges (I had a lot of laughs overhearing them bicker), were very honest about the type of panel upgrade I will need in the future, and told me specifically that this one type of panel upgrade most people will try to talk me into that isn't actually what I needed based off of my service, and I could get away with the more affordable option. I really appreciated how much they cared and were looking out for me, and it's a bummer that the administrative stuff to get them on the job is SO hard that I can't use these guys in the future. read more

Although I'm pleased with the work that was done, I am much less impressed with the commitment of Pop's to follow up. When Bob came out to service my backup generator, he did a very effective and thorough job of maintaining the system and providing me with extensive insight on the shortcomings of the installation which he hand-wrote on the invoice. He admitted that his handwriting wasn't the best and that he would email me a printed version. The service date was 9/30/21. I have yet to receive that email. I called Bob and left a callback message. That call has not been returned. Great work. Lousy customer service/follow-up. read more

I called regarding a small job and was handled nicely by Charmaine who answered the phone and was very nice. However, apparently the job was too small to even look at and the owner never bothered to talk to me. We had our kitchen destroyed due to water damage. The existing electric was 20+ years old and out of code. Pops came in and took care of everything from planning and advice to the most professional service I've ever had. Friendly, affordable, trustworthy, and meticulous. They went out of their way to make us happy. They replaced ALL the wiring in a 400 sq ft kitchen and powder room (including removing all the old wiring throughout the crawlspace), replaced the old breaker box, installed 11 recessed lights, 4 multi-switch plates, 13 outlets, plus sconces and a ventilated light/fan in the powder room in THREE DAYS. POPS Electric is a great choice when you're looking for an electrician. They had the job of working with my garage's ancient wiring. Kevin and Chris were great and very considerate. They went over the job before beginning to verify the needs I had, and pulled it off flawlessly. The only down side is that they came a little later than I expected. The initial appointment was set for 8 am and they arrived at about 8:30. This wouldn't be an issue if I didn't meet clients in my home. They arrived at the same time as my client which caused a couple of hiccups. But, overall, their work was beautifully done, and after their clean up it was like they were never even there. We had recently moved to the area, yelpd this company, saw good reviews and tried it. The day of the appointment (we had to stay home from work for it and were told we were first) got a call saying since we were staying home anyway, they were pushing us to the last appointment of the day (which means our half day from work was now a full). They came, told us they fixed the problem and left. The problem was whenever it rained, it kicked off electric to our garage door opener, an outlet in the garage and two in the bathroom. He replaced things, charged us $400 and told us it was fixed but for a few thousand he could install new direct lines to each outlet (which is unnecessary for the amount of wattage each outlet needs) and he would provide a quote. We never got the quote. Next time it rained, it blew everything again. I called asking them about their policy because we never intended to pay $400 for a band-aid. She assured me that was not the case and they would make right by us. That was over a week ago... still no call. I do not advise this company because of the rudeness you recieve about making and getting an appointment and for the classic contractor response of (your last guy did this all wrong, let me fix it for thousands of dollars for you) approach. I know electric and this problem (tracing where the water comes in, blows the circuit and fixing it) was not done. They just replaced parts, not fixed the problem for a solution. We will not be back... not like they called to make it right anyway... read more

I recently had a great experience with Chris from Pops Electric. He fixed various receptacle problems around my home (open grounds, reverse polarity, dead outlet, non-working GFCI) and did a general safety check on my main breaker panel. I really appreciated that when he found what was causing the issue on each receptacle, he showed me what was wrong with it and what he did to fix it. He was very thorough when checking the breaker panel, tightened up a few neutrals and checked the voltage of the hots and neutrals on each bar to make sure everything was the same. I also really liked that for every receptacle faceplate he removed, he aligned the screws vertically when he put them back on. read more

I've known Bob for years and finally got a chance to work with him and the crew for my kitchen remodel. Before everything started, he worked with me to draw everything out, and clarify details for the job. We even discussed different options to figure out a good combination of energy efficient lighting and visual impact for the room. Once the plans were together, he gave me a fixed price for the installation and materials, and stuck to it! Two separate days (rough in and final) were scheduled ahead of time, so as I got to each step in the process, I let Bob know in case we needed to adjust calendars. Rough In day was a great experience as the crew ran through all of the plans with me first thing in the morning, and they were careful to remind me to turn off computers and such before they got started. Final day was again great and when questions needed answers, they called and described so they could move forward. Last year my smoke detectors had expired and had been chirping constantly. I called a few companies I had seen online. Pop's Electric was by far the most reasonable and the most accommodating. Your company installed 5 new smoke detectors in my home last year. An appointment was set up to fit me in the schedule on the same day. The person who set this up for me was extremely pleasant and understood the need to replace the detectors as quickly as possible. The gentlemen who came to install the new detectors were very knowledgeable; they explained why all five had to be replaced at once and they took the time to explain how to maintain the detectors. Almost exactly a year later, I thought one of my detectors was expiring. I called the office and once again, the person answering the phone was very pleasant and accommodating. She set an appointment for me after 4pm (I know the hours are normally 9-4). The gentleman came and stated immediately that the detector would be replaced free of charge because it must be defective if it's not working properly after one year. He listened to the downstairs detector (the one I thought was chirping) but said that wasn't the one. He walked upstairs and noticed the hanging light on the landing of my stairs was out. He asked if I had replacement bulbs and he got on his ladder and replaced the bulbs for me. He then continued up the remaining stairs to listen to the detectors upstairs. He determined that the sound was indeed from downstairs. In the end, the sound was coming from one of my carbon monoxide detectors (I completely forgot I had them). He replaced the battery and the noise ceased. Needless to say, I was quite embarrassed; however, the gentleman was simply happy the problem was resolved. I asked him how much I owed him for the service call and he said there was no charge. I was flabbergasted; rarely, if ever, are there any other companies that are so generous. I want to thank the entire company who worked so diligently to resolve my issue only to find out in the end that it was my carbon monoxide detector. I have told all my friends this story and will ALWAYS recommend Pop's Electric. Thank you! read more
