This will be our daughter's second season with SDC. She learned a lot last season and we hope the trend continues. Ms Sarah is very organized, communicates wonderfully and is very responsive to any questions you may have . A huge improvement over our previous dance studio! Recital ran very smoothly too. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the class sizes for the weekday recreational classes seemed really big and we lost view of our daughter in the back during her dances at recital. I'm hoping she'll just get moved up a row or two this season and maybe find seats with better visibility during dress rehearsal. read more

Wow! What an amazing place for a young person to learn many genres of dance. My daughter came to SDCa few years ago and I have been amazed at the growth she has shown. She loves the amazing teachers (as do I). I think her favorite is still tap. She never got the opportunity before and she has taken to ot well. My daughter has been dancing for 5 years. We joined Stagedoor last year so she has been here for two years. She loves, loves, LOVES it here!! Teachers are positive and encouraging! More experienced dancers are so sweet and kind. She takes ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop. We weren't sure how she would feel about hip hop but it's one of her favorite classes. After 9 years at one dance studio and 2 at another we needed to find a studio for the 2 dancers in our house, ages 14 and 5, that was run correctly, where the owner/director CARED about not only the students but the parents, a studio with reasonable fees and where technique and skills are taught as well as the basics. If you are looking for a studio with these requirements, then this is the place to check out! The registration fee is only $25 PER FAMILY, there is a $150 cap per dance for classes, all classes and a portion of what we have paid at the previous studios, the manager actually enjoys the parents and interacts with everyone, not just a few chosen favorites, Classes are a manageable size so each dancer gets the attention that they might need, recital and costume fees are half what I have been paying - the director isn't hiking costs to make money as other studios seem to do. The one thing that impressed me the most was that when we went for Dance Day Open House, the Director actually got out there and danced and worked with the kids, she didn't live in her office that no one can access. That right there convinced me that this was where we needed to be. All parents are friendly, the teachers are great with the kids of all ages and the studio is very professionally run. If you are looking for a GRET dance studio, this is the place to be! The girls have been dancing for two weeks now and the attitude and the thrill of dancing again is wonderful to see, I don't have a 5 year old in tears before classes, the teen is looking forward to her classes and she has even added another class to her list. When you pay for the monthly classes you do it online, the money goes where it is suppose to go and there is no question of it not being accounted for. ALSO, and this is a HUGE plus for me, when I email the owner/director I have a reply back with 30 minutes - even on a Sunday when the studio is closed! LOVE that Sarah responds and puts her students first. The girls have both commented that they love that the owner is in the classroom and instructing, not ignoring them. Wish I had found this studio before we wasted 2 years and a lot of money at the other studio. PLEASE give Stagedoor Dance Centre a try, you will not be disappointed! read more

The variety of classes in different genres has given her the opportunity to explore something she has never had before - tap. She is loving it and I enjoy watching her practice. I can not say enough good about this studio - this is the third studio we have gone to and the FIRST where the where the owners and instructors actually DANCE with the students instead of standing and shouting the instructions on how to do a dance routine! They are right there, showing, doing and helping the students! Elizabeth was unsure last year of yet another change, she left friends behind at the other studio but within weeks she was back in the swing and LEARNING instead of stumbling through classes. We did not hear how the teacher was more concerned that her leotard was not right, her tights had holes and her hair was not in a perfect bun. SHE WAS LEARNING the right techniques of dance! Emily was also learning, the teacher was in the middle, doing the steps, explaining them and while she learned terms, the attitude of the teachers was not the boredom that we had seen at the previous studio. The cost - WOW - half what we had been paying across the board! We were not funding the owner and her entire family to go on several vacations a year including a cruise! Not ONE dollar was "lost" or unaccounted for - we lost over $250 at the previous studio - when Elizabeth had to drop a class there was no rude conversations, the class was dropped from my statement and I did not have to pay just because at one point she thought this was the class for her when it wasn't.. This is a smaller studio and the kids LEARN, they enjoy the classes and the other students, there are no groups where some students are excluded, the instructors LOVE what they are doing. And the recital - it does not cost an arm and leg, it is run professionally, the owner does not feel she has to constantly blow her own horn - obviously I can not say enough about Stagedoor and all the teachers and especially Sarah Samson Miller the owner. Hands down THIS is the studio where your sons and daughters will learn how to dance in a healthy learning place. read more
