We came here last night for a wedding reception and was this place ever hopping! I believe there…read morewere four or five wedding receptions taking place that evening and it's no surprise as this banquet hall is beautiful. When we first arrived, there were a couple of wedding parties arriving at the same time so the front lobby was buzzing with excitement. Thankfully there was a monitor mounted near the ceiling that listed the events taking place, what floor they were on and their room number. The reception we were attending was located on the second floor so we navigated our way to the cascading staircase in the centre of the lobby. The receiving areas outside of the banquet rooms are spacious and have seating scattered throughout providing plenty of room to mingle as the wait staff worked their way through the crowd during the cocktail hour. The setup and decoration of the room was spectacular and sure to please even the most fastidious bride! Looking beyond the beautiful decorations, the banquet room itself was elegant with clean lines, beautiful ceiling fixtures and a large dance floor. For this occasion, the food was a combination of Italian and Indian and although I believe the Italian selections (and the dessert tables after) were prepared by Riviera Parque, I suspect the Indian cuisine was catered from an external company. Of course, having a weakness for Indian cuisine my plate consisted mostly of those dishes however I did sample the offerings from the other tables. The grilled chicken, vegetable bundles and various salads were quite flavourful and presented superbly! I'd even go as far as to say that this was probably some of the best food I've every experienced at a reception. I would like to make a special note about the wait staff who were present that evening. For such a large crowd, there never seemed to be a moment when we were not being attended to. The staff were professional, friendly and the service they provided was second to none! My only issue with the hall (and why I am not rating it a 5-star) is that the music from the adjoining room could be heard clearly in our room which created quite a distraction during the speeches. Although, I'm not so sure that is the hall's fault as much as it might be the DJ's. All in all, I think this is a fabulous venue for any event you might be planning.
