You could say I'm a regular in the stag scene. I've attended dozens of events around Vaughan and Woodbridge over the past 10 years. From my experience, there are generally two types of stags: clean stags and dirty stags.
Clean stags usually feature professional hostesses who run games, sell raffle tickets, and help create a fun, social atmosphere. The focus is primarily on fundraising, games, and light entertainment. These events tend to be well-organized, stay within expected boundaries, and are similar to what most banquet halls anticipate when booking a stag.
Dirty stags are quite different. While they often start with the same structure (open bar, dinner, poker tables, and games) the entertainment becomes increasingly adult-oriented as the night progresses. This includes lingerie clad hostesses, suggestive performances during games, and situations where hostesses are encouraged to go topless for extra money or participate in motorboating with guests. In some cases, these activities may cross into areas that violate city bylaws regarding adult entertainment.
Four Aces Stags definitely falls into the dirty stag category. I attended several of their events between 2017 and 2019, and again in 2022. From those experiences, I got a sense of how the operation works both on the surface and behind the scenes. One thing that stood out was how aggressive the owner could be in pushing hostesses to participate in certain activities. In one instance, a hostess appeared clearly uncomfortable with allowing guests to motorboat and was close to tears, which made the situation feel especially off putting. The overall atmosphere resembled a strip club, despite the hostesses not being professional strippers, and compared to clean stags, the experience felt tacky and uncomfortable.
Overall, the contrast between clean and dirty stags is significant, and this one clearly leaned toward the latter. read more
