There were only a few other people in the restaurant. Our food finally came. I ordered a blue cheese chicken salad, my wife got a patty melt. The meat was very dry. There were 2 strands of onion on it and the cheese was about the size of a nickel. The bread was so dry, she couldn't eat it. The chicken on my salad was sliced so thin to make it look like more. This was my second visit this month and both were disappointing. Starting with being seated taking way to long for an empty restaurant to the waitress falling short and the food has gone down hill. The blonde male bartender was throwing trash, slamming plates and unable to service a barely full bar. He was so rude to my boyfriend and myself as if we knew him personally! He didn't even put our order in correctly and when asked about a food item he literally laughed and walked away. I'm SHOCKED this person has a job in the hospitality industry. JJ Muggs is a nice place to go before or after a game at Rodger Dean Stadium. Its a pretty typical sports bar/grill with typical sports bar/grill food. Not the best, but not terrible. I dont dislike this place because of the food or the drinks. I dislike it because of the people who frequent this place. If you go to JJ Muggs to party, its like a high school reunion gone terribly wrong. Most of the people that go here to drink are kids that grew up around that area. Its like a bad dream. Except its not your dream, its like you are watching someone elses bad dream and all you can do to cope with it is drink more. Its a great place to hang out if you are underage because these people dont really give a damn as long as nothing gets broken and you dont get arrested inside the bar. Otherwise, have fun. We have been going to The Stadium Grill which used to be JJ Muggs for the past 15 or so years. This was our first outing since February. Was so looking forward to seeing other people. However we were very disappointed that the servers did not have on masks nor did they have on gloves. During our trip to Florida during spring training we visited this bar and grill. We were in town to see the Minnesota Twins play the World Series Champions St. Louis Cardinals. The Twins lost but this place was a hit! The place was packed pregame but the service was very good. We were in and out of the place in well under an hour. Our family ordered several different items on the menu and all were served fast and piping hot. The chicken I ordered had great taste. The restaurant was filled with memorabilia including a photo of Gator Tim Tebow! A must stop before or after any baseball game. I've been to JJ Mugs twice now and have had great experiences both times! Both times I have gone at off times for lunch, so I've had no trouble with seating or service. My family loves buffalo-anything here! I've tried both the buffalo chicken sandwich and last time had the buffalo chicken salad. Both were delicious! The location is smack in the middle of Abacoa. The location is what makes this restaurant ideal for people who are on a budget. With that being said, the food was mediocre and the service was horrible. We ordered an appetizer and four meals. Despite the amount of time it took to get our food, we never received the appetizer. After requesting the appetizer twice we got a sad excuse that "the kitchen made it three times, and they did not like how it came out." If that were the case then we should have been notified of the delay. Either way, it was less then a good time. Wasn't expecting to eat here but ended up here for a meeting. First, this is definitely a sports bar. It's located in Abacoa right next to Roger Dean Stadium. When I arrived, it seemed to be men's night! I was the only female in there apart from the waitress'. The menu is typical, burger and wings with a few salads and oddly, pizza. I had the grilled steak salad. It was not bad and I admit the steak was cooked to my liking. However, it was nothing spectacular. Too many raw red onions for my taste. Staff were friendly and attentive, not intrusive. So that was a plus. I suspect if you go here during the spring training period, it will be busier but still ok food. read more

Have been here 3 times since Spring Training was cancelled due to Corona virus. Food & service was excellent and so glad they are open for us few stranded fans! Comfortable outdoor area. Food is good, we enjoy eating outdoors, but the waitress was just mean!! She never brought us our appetizer, when we got our meal we asked for it to be taken off the check as we no longer wanted it, it wasn't. Instead, the waitress yelled at us!! Apparently it wasn't her fault we didn't get it, but somehow ours??! Then we only left a 8% tip, which I thought was very generous under the circumstances, and she grabbed the check, looked at the tip and yelled at us again!! I enjoy going to JJ Muggs. The food is good and at a good value, especially being in Abacoa. I often go to lunch here for a draft beer and wings, or a burger, or a sandwich, or another beer. Always seems a little light on staff, but they work hard. Roger Dean Stadium is across the street, making it good for pre and post game, especially if St Louis Cardinals fans. Went here last night with my daughter who has an allergy to dairy. They were very accommodating in her questions about what has dairy and not. We started with the fish dip that is served creamy and smooth, with a generous serving of jalapeños, black olives, chopped tomatoes with tortilla chips and crackers. Amazing as that was, we ordered Philly Cheese Steak, and as often as I select this on the menu, I was taken aback as to how unique and delicious it was. It is served on a baguette, which was odd at first sight, but it was without question the best cheese steak I have ever had.
