I came here for lunch, I wanted something good to eat and a beer, upon arriving it was a nice atmosphere, lots of beer options which is nice, it's a self service for your food which is pretty cool and probably easier for the staff! The food was okay, but the prices were high for frozen steak, and frozen meatballs that were reheated and sold as a 19$ sandwich. Do better. Customers watch the staff make the food.The chips were stale and not salted. They were most definitely fried hours before, you can see buckets of pre fried chips sitting all over the kitchen/ on top of fridges in random nooks along with the chefs not washing hands between dishes. I definitely would not return for food or in general. When I go out drinking I'm looking for affordable food that doesn't break the bank since I break the bank buying drinks as it is. Especially not cheap frozen meat for 19$ a sandwich. The meat in both sandwiches tasted frozen. 19$ for frozen meat from Cheney brothers or US foods that was bought wholesale and resold for that amount is crazy to me. Especially in such a nice area. Please do better. (I am a butcher and it's obvious when you are sold frozen meats you can taste it) - if you used better quality meat that cheesesteak would've been amazing it was dry and tasted freezer burnt. The beer cheese was a nice touch on top and it had a beautiful amount of onions- I did notice there is not an equal amount for the chips on every plate. I watched plates come out with a good amount of chips and I watched my plate come out with barely any chips on it. That was disappointing. Although if you are looking for a variety of drink selections and a place to watch tv this would be a great option for you. They don't have pool tables or any activities. What a beer selection!!! I've only had a few of their snacks but everything I've had was excellent. The bacon platter is a must! Such a great space inside. The outside seating is great too on nice days. Staff is knowledgeable. Everyone behind the bar knows their products. The night we went the temperature was in the low 70's so perfect for hanging out. You order your beverages & food at the bar area then they give you a number and deliver your food promptly. If I had to guess there are probably over 40 beers to select. The food choices are fairly ample. We had the pretzel bites, mahi, mahi bites and spaetzel (German Mac n cheese) which each we very good! Great spot! We came with our family, and it was so fun because it was Trivia Night on Tuesday! We all got something to drink. They had 3-4 ciders, and a huge selection of beers, wine, and cocktails! They were all really good. You just order at the bar. To start, we got the 'House chips' which were homemade chips with green onions, pico, and beer cheese. They were sooooo delicious and our favorite part! We also got some pretzel bites with beer cheese that were yummy too. For my meal, I got the cheesy spaetzle, and it was good! I've made two trips to DAS Beer Garden over the last couple of weeks. I was excited to find a German place right in town. The service is a little odd, you find a table then walk up to an ordering station at the bar. They try to keep orders coming in but most of the time it's just the bar tender taking orders and you're going to wait to take your order. If you leave your tab open the same goes for any more drink orders and closing out your tab. After all is said and done you might end up spending quite a bit of time in the line. The menu has some pretty awesome food ideas but the execution just isn't quite there. The cheesy spätzle was just okay, great idea but just okay. The second time I got a buffalo chicken wrap and again, it was just okay. Meals come with chips, fries are extra, as a heads up. The did have live music both times we were there. The first performer wasn't that good but the music the second night was solid. It's just loud so if you're looking for a conversation this isn't the place. DAS Beer Garden is a great place to go for a beer or two as their menu is huge but I would just stick to the beer if I found myself here again in the future. read more

There were plenty of tables, so we got a seat before Game 7 of the NBA playoff. You get your own water and order at the bar, but it works very nicely! Service is quick and friendly. This place is great! I went for a trivia night last night, and it was so much fun! There is street parking free for 3 hours, or a free parking garage. There are two or three dozen craft beers on tap, and plethora of drink options in bottles or cans. They have a full menu and the kitchen stays open until 9:00 or later. I tried there Reuben egg rolls, which were absolutely delicious, plus truffle fries and meatballs with the side salad. They have two sets of bathrooms on either side of the restaurant. They have a stage in the front that opens out onto the street for entertainment, and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Everyone looked really happy to be there, the staff and bartenders were all personable with each other and with the customers. I really like this place and I will definitely be back. read more

Stopped in for some drinks and food before catching a baseball game right around the corner. The place was absolutely packed and the band is incredibly loud. The band plays inside but they are aimed out the open windows/doors to play for the people sitting outside or walking by the bar. We sat at the bar because you have to order there anyways, so once we saw seats open, we figured it would be easier for everyone. The beer list is insanely impressive and almost intimidating. It's organized well on the wall so you can hone in on what you want. We ordered a bunch of food to share which included the Reuben egg rolls, das sausage plate, dad tacos, and das potstickers. The Reuben egg rolls were by far our favorite and they were absolutely delicious. The service was fine but it was absolutely chaos in the bar area because everyone is in line to order. There was a festival going on down the road so it made the place even busier. The staff apologized that they were using paper plates and plastic cups because of how busy it was. We'd probably stop in again for a beer and egg rolls but it's more of a bar than a restaurant. read more

My wife asked me what I wanted for dinner and I said I wanted some good German food. We were up in PSL but she did a search and had this little gem on her bookmarks. It was the only German place open around lunch so we figured we'd make the drive. It was so worth it! I opted for the DAS Bavaria and enjoyed a couple of beers while we were there. It's a seat yourself type of place and there's no wait service but the bartenders are great. Your order up at the bar and make sure to get a beer when tou order your food! Great concept. They give you a number and a food runner brings out your food when it's ready. I enjoyed a beer while I waited and then a band started setting up. The live music was a little loud, even sitting outside but it was a great atmosphere. Our toddler had fun and we went on to enjoy Abacoa after eating. Definitely highly recommended. Great food and excellent beer selection. Technically 3.5 stars. The sausages were perfectly cooked, staying juicy on the inside with a snappy crisp exterior. Well seasoned and cooked french fries along side of nice and tangy sauerkraut. Plenty of beers to choose from to wash it all down. Fun atmosphere with lots of TV and Trivia (on the night I visited). Sit inside or out and if out, bring your dog! The only down side, is the guy taking your, or rather my order, is having a really bad day - or the last 20 years or so. read more

We've now dined at the beer garden twice. The first time was last week when I messed up my calendar entries - I mistakenly thought our school fundraiser event was last week...but oops it was today! Both times we visited, there was live music. Last week it was entirely too loud and unpleasant to my ears - also, somewhat worse because we had the kids with us. This week it was so much better re: noise level and I generally liked the music better. We sat outside both times, there is ample seating and the seating not under the awning has nice large umbrellas to protect from sun and rain. Ordering food was quick and easy (order at the bar). Food came out remarkably fast - which is excellent because we were hungry! So far my kids have had the hot dogs, the quesadillas, and the chicken bites. Everything has looked great and for the most part my kids have done a good job on eating their meals. None of us liked the chips that come standard so we've been subbing out for fries ($2 extra). I don't love their fries but they are much better than the chips, and they taste great with ranch ($0.50 extra). I had the Brussels sprouts appetizer both times. It isn't my favorite way I've had them prepared but it is the simplest thing on the menu for me to eat and they do taste good, they're just heavier than I would prefer since they are coated in cheese. I have had a glass of house wine at each of my visits. At my first visit the pour seemed especially generous. Overall we have had good experiences and I really appreciate that they work with our school for these fundraisers. I don't eat much German food in general but if you do I think they do a good job. But at some point (it's been bad for what seems like years) you switch suppliers or learn how to order the right type of potato! Do I need to tell you the name of the bar across the street that does it right? ...maybe take a walk and ask them how to make chips? They had a great beer selection and the food was pretty good. My chicken sandwich was tasty, however the amount of chicken was pretty small for the price. A grilled chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce and french fries was almost $20 and I was still kind of hungry afterward. Also since the chicken was so small and thin it was a little overcooked and tough. Service is self serve on the ordering and beer and runners bring the food to the table. If I'm down there and they have a good band I'd definitely go back for a few drinks. I'd probably grab a bite elsewhere beforehand though. read more
