It's still a good restaurant. I sometimes feel like the price is too high when the food I get is sub-par, but the food isn't always bad.

I tried this place for the first time in early January 2017. I had the pretzel dough hot ham and cheese with a side of fries. I also ordered a local beer. And the prices are fairly high for the food they offer. I would recommend going during happy hour so your tab is not over $65. I found the sandwich and the fries to be delicious. The staff was extremely courteous but, we must've gone on a day when they were very shorthanded as it took forever to get our food. I will honestly say it is one of the better sports bars for the location it's it's in. But, never attempt to go in there during a sports event as it is added right next to a Hampton hotel and is always busy. The ambience and atmosphere was nice. But, I feel this restaurant is only there to accommodate the people who stay in the hotel and customers who are going to sporting events. read more

It's your basic sports bar and grill. Nothing super special here. I went with a co-worker on a Monday. We had made it in time for happy hour and we were maybe one of three patrons in the entire place. That should have been my first clue. Drinks were fine and well priced for happy hour and they had a relatively good selection of stuff on tap. The food on the other hand was really nothing to write home about. On a whim I ordered a french dip sandwhich with au jous. It was mediocre at best. The bread was over powering when compared to the amount of meat I got and the au jous was over seasoned. My counterpart ordered a salad that looked to be way better. It wasn't the worst place I've ever been, but, definitely nothing to write home about. read more

This place is by far the best "new" place in Columbia and honestly one of the best places I've been in Columbia since coming back after a 10 year hiatus in Chicago. I've been looking for a new place to hang out at since most of the cooler places back in the day have been over run by college kids and this place delivers! The food is incredibly great. The wings they serve are lightly breaded and can be tossed with one of several sauces; I recommend the "Real Hot" or the "Parmesan Garlic" ... unless you are feeling courageous then go for the "Insane" made from habanero, starts sweet but ends up burning your throat! They also have an array of burgers to choose from, including some topped with chili to some of the more classics. They also include on their menu some higher end "American" meals with a NY Steak to a shrimp pasta. The first time I was there, our server, Justin, claimed this was a higher end sports bar. I couldn't disagree more, thinking this is more of a higher end restaurant that also serves bar food. They have many flat screens and I've been told will have the sound on for Cardinal's, Royal's, Missouri games and Sunday NFL games. This is by far the best sports bar that I've been to here in Columbia yet and can guarantee this will be packed on MU game days (closest bar to the stadium!). The staff is great too. I've already met the owners and chef and most of the staff (including Rachel, the best hostess around). I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for great food. The fact that it is a sports bar is an added bonus. Oh and they have a 6.5 pound burger challenge, I can't wait to see who takes that on! read more

I'm giving this place 4/5 because of their service. We arrived about an hour before a Mizzou basketball game on a Tuesday night, so we didn't really know what to expect with crowds. We were greeted by a couple of very nice staff members that immediately led us to a table. They were very attentive and nice when taking our orders. Our waitress also came back many times throughout our meal to make sure everything was tasting good. The food on the other hand wasn't my favorite part. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Our food arrived fairly fast. My pulled pork sandwich was really just a bacon cheese burger but with pulled pork instead of a burger. Maybe that's what they consider a pulled pork sandwich but I was expecting something a little different. The food tasted as if it had come straight out of a microwave previous to arriving at my table. It was very very salty and the cheese had absolutely no taste. Really the only part of my meal I enjoyed was the fries. They were actually pretty good. Overall, this place gets a 5/5 for service but a 3/5 for food. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone who is very critical of food. But if you're hungry, not too picky, and enjoy great service, head on over to Stadium Grill! read more

This restaurant is attached to the Hampton hotel - across from Mizzou. We were lazy and didn't feel like going out. Called the restaurant and they delivered to our room. Nice! Note they do charge a tip on your bill - but no biggie - I tipped the nice young lady a couple bucks more. It's a college town and they can use it! To the food. I had a 1/3 burger with bacon and a fried egg on it. The bun was soooo soft and very flavorful! Don't remember what they called it but I would say delicious! We took a serious hiatus from this place because we felt they got lazy with they cooking. Here is what we found in out recent visit. It is a decent burger, but definitely not the best I've had. Wife had the Free Throw and I had the Red Dog. The Free Throw had good flavor, but way too many toppings to protein ratio. The Red Dog was cooked well. It was bland for my palate. They changed a favorite of mine: Chicago Style Nachos. They removed seasoning from the sauce and added soggy bacon. Terrible changes in my opinion. Service was fantastic. In fact, it may be the only thing that will bring me back. read more

I had an excellent Omega burger my first night in the hotel next door. The next night I tried the Hot Receiver...not or well-received. It was definitely a fresh burger, but it was not as tasty as the Omega. There were 4 jalapenos and some special sauce on the burger: just not hot enough for me. I am from the Gulf Coast though, and I'm used to ultra hot. The staff were nice. The restaurant was clean. I have to explain that I ate here because it was attached to the hotel where I was staying. So I didn't really go for the sports bar atmosphere. When I arrived the place was packed, yet they where still able to find me a place away from the bar. Seemed short staffed but everyone was working hard and trying to keep up with the sudden rush of people. This is the only reason I gave the place four stars instead of five. Service didn't have that personal touch, yet everyone was busy just trying to take care of everyone. I ordered a hamburger with cheese, chili, and a fried egg. I believe it was called "foul line". Made with a homemade bun, fresh jalepenos, and comes with homemade potato chips. For a sports bar of this size my only complaint would be that the screens seem to be small. read more

I stay at the attached hotel for work quite often and have tried Stadium Grill a few times in hopes that that were off nights when I had been there. The only think I have had that was above average was the gumbo. My last trip the salad was terrible. It was obvious that the lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes had froze at some point. The wings tasted like they were precooked frozen wings that they didn't fry long enough. The breading was mush. Service has been hit and miss. It appears that either employees that are not working or friends of employees are at the bar and that is where the bartender and some employees stand and talk. I gave them every chance I could because of their location. Only drinks for me in the future. read more

Stadium Grill used to be a real favorite for me. However, recently I would have to say that the food has been rather disappointing. I have eaten here numerous times and often I order the same thing, either the Free Throw, Three Pointer, or Bistro burger. I have always believed that the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. Just over ten dollars and you can get a 2/3 lb. burger with fries. There is a lot of variety in the burgers, from avocado topping or a giant onion ring with BBQ sauce, the garnish is not the issue, but rather the meat. The burgers used to be very juicy, but now they are dry and lacking flavor. Consistency is there, but not in a pleasing fashion. The last three times I have been here, the same problem has existed when ordering a burger. Poor flavor and overcooked patties. The menu overall is nice. Aside from the burgers, there are sandwiches, large salads and seafood/pasta dishes. Typical American cuisine, especially considering it's a sports bar. The atmosphere seems clean, Mizzou decor graces the walls and there are a lot of TVs. The bar is slick and there are many options of domestic and import beers, but the prices could be more reasonable. I understand that Stadium Grill may not be going for the college bar setting, because it's not really a college student joint, so their prices are fixed for those with families. If you want a cheap beer, head downtown to one of the bars, you're sure to find the better deal. Service is honestly hit and miss. I'm going to attribute this to the lack of experience many of the servers have and I suspect this establishment has a high turnover of employees. Serving, especially in a setting that is not very busy, should be easy. Bring drinks, refill said drinks, take order, etc. it's not rocket science but some of the servers make it seem like it is. Overall, this place is "meh." Think Buffalo Wild Wings without the wings. If you have been to BWW you know what to expect, ok food, sports, similar prices and decent service. Come football season this place can get crowded, but by mid June when school is out, you're better off going somewhere else on a weeknight. read more

Went here for dinner as I was staying at the Hotel next door. Since I was alone I sat at the bar and the bartender was there right away with a menu and took my drink order. It was happy hour so that was a bonus--drink prices were decent. I ordered some food and it was Okay, as others have posted it's not the worst nor was it the best I've had--I found the menu to be uninspired and typical of the bar-food variety. I'd say it was mediocre at best. I will say that the bartender was really great on the night I was there so that always makes things better. read more

What a find!! After a long drive, and tired of fast food and Chinese or pizza delivery, we stop at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Columbia, MO. This little gem is attached to the restaurant and we had grilled pork chops with sweet potato waffle fries and steamed broccoli. First of all, there are two rather large, perfectly prepared chops topped with lime butter that were very tender and moist. The sweet potato fries were so plentiful that my hubs and I shared them and loved them. They were crisp but not crunchy. The broccoli was steamed to a point that made it tender but not mushy. It was obvious that it was not from a freezer bag but, cooked from the real, fresh veggie. EVERYTHING was top notch and delivered in about 20 minutes. If you're near Mizzou Stadium, this is a great place for dinner. They better treat that chef well or someone will try to steal him/her. read more

I just got food from here and I wish I hadn't. I ordered a French dip with onion rings. The menu said that it is sliced sirloin with Swiss cheese. What I got was ground beef. It had absolutely no flavor!! Now the onion rings. I got 4 onion rings, which would have been fine considering they were enormous. The problem is that they were very thick pieces of onions coated in panko. All I could taste was oil. I'm very disappointed. I will definitely never go there again. read more

I was seated outside as soon as I arrived. It was nice out and the patio was open. My waitress, Jenna Z, came for my drink order within a minute or two, and she gave great advice on menu options. She was extremely attentive but not overbearing, the perfect combo when being a server. I had a spinach salad and a side of gumbo. Wonderful flavor, ingredients tasted fresh, came with yummy cornbread too. If I was staying longer I'd eat here again! read more

We've been faithful patrons of this restaurant for years -- at least once or twice a month. But we haven't been to a restaurant in 3 months because of the coronavirus. This was the first place we went. This is what we found: 1) serving staff does not wear masks, and we were told it was a choice left to them and there were no masks available for them to wear 2) hostess wore no mask or gloves although she handled the menus and gave them to us 3) our waitress wore gloves, but the guy who carried the food for her (not on a tray but in his hands) wore no gloves or mask 3)we saw tables being wiped down with a wet towel, no cleaning fluid. Same towel was used on multiple tables. We were disappointed to see no consideration for the safety of staff or patrons. This may not matter to some people, but it does to us. This place had been open in town for awhile before I met a friend there for lunch. Neither of us had been there before so we decided to give it a try! We both loved all the Mizzou decor. They have an entire wall covered in a picture of the student section at a football game...very cool! Lots and lots of TV's to watch all the games. I ordered a diet pepsi!!! (THANK YOU FOR NOT HAVING COKE!), burger, fries, and a side salad. Our service wasn't anything special, but not lacking. My salad came and I was surprised that it was actually romaine lettuce instead of cheap iceberg! The burger came and looked delicious! I arranged my toppings as I saw fit and took a bite...HEAVEN! The bun was enough to seal the deal for me! It was amazing...soft, fresh, sticks-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth-good, with the slightest taste of honey. The burger itself was amazing too, cooked just the way I like it. My friend and I left very satisfied with the food and on the way out the door, our waitress came running up to us with to-go drinks! She was a sweetheart after all! :) On my second trip, I was with my parents. My dad loves a good, plain burger. Both my mom and dad are addicted to Diet Pepsi, so I knew this was the place for them! Our waitress let our cups go dry a few times before LEAVING FOR SERIOUSLY OVER 10 MINUTES!!! We sat there and waited and waited and waited...I finally took our cups up to the bar for a refill. She FINALLY came out of the kitchen and asked us how our food was (that we had finished a good 15 minutes ago) like nothing had happened...my mom asked for the check, we paid, and left. It was great to see them not only care about us, but to also make sure our two boys had a great visit as well. Was staying at a hotel and this restaurant was attached so for convenience I decided to give it a try. Friendly service and comfortable restaurant. I ordered the prime rib French dip. The meat in my sandwich had been chopped to pieces and I believe microwaved. It was very dry. It was served on a fantastic roll. I ate about three bites as I was very hungry. I just couldn't eat anymore. Very difficult to chew. When my bill was delivered there was no questioning if the food was ok or even if I wanted a box. I will never eat there again. There are so many quality places to eat in Columbia I can't believe my bad luck. read more

It was your normal sports bar there wasn't a lot of activity that night but the bar tender was friendly and helpful with the menu. They have a selection of beer as well. Great hamburger joint with tons of TVs to watch games or just get the college experience. They have a lot of unique hamburgers but my favorites are the Strike Zone (with shrimp on it, I know it sounds strange but it's amazing) and the Cubano (with shaved ham and mustard, similar to a cuban sandwich but it's a hamburger). The place is wide open with high ceilings and sparse decorations ... you can tell it's attached to a hotel. There's not much ambiance except for the fact you can watch sports anywhere you look. Good, typical burgers. Great service. Good for business lunches or a Sunday when you have friends that want to watch their own favorite team play instead of yours. Ate here with friends a couple weeks ago, lots of battered, fried fare. Woke up in the middle of the night with horrible GI upset after crab cakes and beer. Met friends here again tonight and ordered teriyaki wings. The wings were refrigerator cold and uncooked in the centers. This was blamed on "new fry cook".
