We love this place--the pizza is better than most places in Columbia! They also have a good variety of sandwiches and salads and stuff (haven't tried the burger yet). Yummy fries. It's nice inside, I think it's been remodeled in the past couple years? Anyway it's a nice pub atmosphere, clean and with tons of tvs if sports is your thing. The service has always been friendly inside, and when we get to-go orders our food has always been hot and ready when promised. This is a good place to go to lunch with the kids, or ditch them later and get pizza and a beer for dinner. I'm sure it's fun if games are on that you like, plenty of screens all around! read more

Outstanding service and food (pizza and a salad) at SouthSide pizza! We were here is the Columbia area riding cycles on the Katy Trail. Our camp host suggest the delivery service that is offered and we took her up on it! After a small SNAFU we needed to visit the actual restaurant the following day. Because of the SNAFU we had to come into town anyway to purchase new equipment that was damaged to continue our journey. The owner, by the name of Mousa, would not return phone calls or meet with us in person to settle up an expense that was incurred. He would NOT return phone calls yet he had the time to relay through Youen (the manager) that we needed to deal with the 17 year old delivery driver to settle up on a $380 bill. What a coward of a man, hiding behind employees and not taking responsibility. Mousa would not make amends however the 17 year old employee and manger went out of their way to do the right thing. I would suggest Mousa take a lesson from these two outstanding employees on customer service. Due to the time we spent resolving this issue is why I am leaving one star rating. May S@$t roll up hill this time. read more

I have never eaten at Southside before. I didn't know what to expect, but I knew they had pizza and sandwiches. My wife and I ordered a pizza and a sandwich. The pizza was $27 for a 14 inch large pizza. The crust was mediocre at best, and the toppings or flavorless and inadequate. In addition, the sauce was not flavorful at all. The sandwich was the smallest sandwich I have ever seen. It was perhaps six bites. It was nine dollars, and not worth half of that. The service was good, and the waitress was friendly. Let me start by saying we really like this place. Great pizza and atmosphere. We did have a glitch with the chicken Greek salad. Having ordered this several times before, it has always been very good. This visit however the chicken was cold and hard. Not good at all. We ate, tipped nicely and left. We decided to call and politely let them know that the salad was sub par due to the chicken being cold and hard. I was very surprised that the evening manager said "well we we're busy". Offering no comment, apology or interest in our feedback. Yes. We were all there. You were not busy. While I was being quite nice and complimentary, I was met with a rude, uncaring manager. I have met and talked with the owner. She would not approve. If you can't serve your best quality food if you are busy, how do you expect to stay busy?? We expected a more sincere response as we didn't want anything other than to suggest the salad is much better when served with warm fresh chicken. Pretty disappointed in the staff on this visit. I came with my friends for some karaoke. When I first walked up the the DJ to put in a song, he ignored me. After about 10 minutes he finally asked me what I wanted to put in. Now, you have to understand that there was a guy behind me who also wanted a song, and he put him in as well. Long story short, at 1 I heard the call for last song, and it was the guy who put in his song AFTER I did! I was confused so I went to ask the DJ what was going on. A pretty great place to go with friends. Free trivia nights on Tuesday and Karaoke on Wednesdays (I think). The happy hour is one of the best in town. I'm absolutely appalled at the service we received. We went in on a Saturday night around 5:30, and there was literally NO ONE there, except for a few people at the bar. With it being our first time, we were confused as to whether we should seat ourselves, or wait to be seated. The lady (who ultimately ended up being our waitress) just stared at us while we continued to look confused. We ended up just picking a table in hopes that someone would notice that we came in. Once our waitress FINALLY came around... and after some drink confusion, we ordered our food. I have to be honest, I don't know what all the hype is about their pizza. It was just alright. Now, maybe it's because it was thin crust, (which I don't like) or maybe it's because it was cut into squares (which I also don't like) but it wasn't that good. I could have picked up a red baron pizza at Gerbes and have been just as satisfied. Then, heaven forbid we wanted to pay for our food and leave. No, we had to wait around another 30 minutes in a completely dead restaurant just to pay our bill. Their food is basically bar food. If you're drunk as hell with numb taste buds and you're completely ravenous, then I'm sure Southside is gonna be BALLIN. But otherwise, stay away. I enjoy coming to Southside for karaoke on Wednesday nights. They do get pretty busy then so it may take awhile for your drinks or food but I still enjoy it. The bathrooms seem to be neglected during that time because it is so busy, which is understanding, but a bummer where there is no toliet paper in the stalls. I end up asking one of the owners or their son, for toilet paper so I can just make sure my other ladies dont run out. They have very good service and good pizza. The waitresses are always friendly. I prefer them over any other place but I am not a big fan of when they have UFC nights and that requires a cover so I will just go home instead. Lots of TVs and large projectors so watching a Blues game or Cardinals game is exciting there. Also its Christmas 24/7 because they have string lights lining the inside which makes it look cool. Upon arrival - without the original pizza - we were essentially accused of lying. No one on the phone told us to specifically bring it back, so we left it at home. Came for the World Series final and got our check, put cash on the table for the tip and the waitress snatched it up, walked to the bar and proceeded to talk badly about our table to other servers because she didn't think it was enough. "come on man lets get this started..." I literally hung up and didnt even want to order but my mom insisted...TONIGHT. out of that all that bullshit, I spend $40 avg when I order... These MF gave me a half raw ass burger, My mom ate most of hers but mine I didnt... I tasted the fuckin raw meat and Microwaved for 40 seconds before I even ate...MIND you when we called she had told them I had taken a few bites Im not a little kid i got a big ass fuckin mouth tf. So I was just there with my girlfriend and her friend and we were probably never going to be served but my girlfriend eventually got up and requested that somebody help us. Even then the service was very poor and while I very rarely do anything like this, I left less than a ten percent tip. Well I am glad I did because we soon realized that my girlfriend's friend had left her phone and when she logged into her iCloud account from my computer I got a very unfriendly call back telling me I could stop pinging her phone and that it was at the bar. We recently started going here. My kids (2 & 5) love the pizza and each time we've had a server named Natalie. She loves kids and will do anything to keep them happy!! They'll even let them play pool. It's been hard to find a place to take my rambunctious kiddos. Get the house pizza. The pizza is great. They are open late. Those are the two things that attracted me. The service makes me want to never step foot in there again. I had to wait forever I was greeted by a surly young women who we order waters from and told her we needed a menu. My water tasted like soap.
