Tonight came to Stacks to enjoy their new hours which started a few weeks back. They're open now to 9:00pm Thursday to Sunday. Enjoyed a nice rib eye, with a nice cap on it as well, medium rare, with a some hash browns (delicious) and side of crisp veggies. Service was great. Definitely will be back for a dinner, as you cannot go wrong with a possible breakfast at nighttime. Nothing real negative about this trip. Food was good. read more

Popular breakfast/brunch spot that's fairly close to the Bridge to Nowhere hike. Came here after hiking around 11am and the lot was almost full. We waited for about 20-25 minutes for a table for two on a Sunday. The portions are quite hefty, and both of us took leftovers home. I got the skillet and we also split an order of the strawberry French toast (which was stuffed with some cream and came in 3). The skillet came with a generous amount of meat and also came with a choice of toast on the side (I got sourdough). The waiters were all friendly. Indoor and outdoor dining was available. Credit cards accepted. Free parking lot that encompasses the restaurant. Overall, it's a down to earth spot with generous plates. read more

The thinly veiled replacement of Flappy Jack's. Décore is the same. Waitresses are the same. Unfortunately, they lost the flavor. The food here once brought people from all over Southern California. People will still come thinking it still has the Flappy Jack's magic, but whether they will return or not is another story. I was neither disappointed nor impressed with breakfast today. It was just, meh! Firat of all, my party of four couldn't get napkins, silverware or condiments when our food was served. Two of us sat their while our chicken fried steaks got cold and soggy. The cutlet was bland, as in no flavor. This lack of seasoning is unexcusable in my mind. All it takes is a pich of salt at the very least, but when you don't season a CFS during the cooking process, the salt shaker isn't really going to help. Other than that, this was basically a trip to Denny's or Coco's, but without the rutti tutti. The mom and pop flair and magic that was once made fresh here died with the name change. Wow! What a disappointment. Didn't wait too long to be seated; twenty minutes. But we sat at our table for thirty more minutes. No waiter, no flatware, no drinks. A different person, other people than our waiter, finally took our order. When we finally got our pancakes we realized the syrup had zero taste and I mean absolutely no taste. The pancakes were mediocre. My advice, come here right when they open because the waiters are not properly trained for a full house. Order waffles with fruit and whipped cream. It's definitely not Flappy's anymore :( The vibe is different. The place is now served by young women who spent the majority of their time flirting with the boys at another table and making tik tok videos. The place is now run by a manager who was busy joking around with his young employees. I have zero issue with any of this (you do you) until it affects the service and food, which it did. Our waitress (as sweet as she was) forgot our drinks and then spilled my water and didn't help clean it. She did, however, loudly walk up to the table of boys next to us and excitedly announced that she had their receipt ready with a special discount. Now on to the food... I had the Irish Eggs Benedict, which used to come piled with homemade corned beef and hash and smothered in creamy hollandaise. Today's version included a broken sauce and what must have been canned corned beef and hash as it resembled a patty of dog food. And the hashbrowns were undercooked. The pancakes were mediocre at best :( The menu items may be the same, but the experience is definitely not. Went today for a midday breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. Our server, Sophia, was absolutely fantastic. Very quick on the coffee refills and never let us have an empty cup on the table. The food was fantastic and the portions were generous. I ordered over-easy eggs, but they came out undercooked with the whites still runny. When I informed the server, she argued that this was how over-easy eggs should be. Plain and simple service is crap! My wife and I have been coming for years. We brought our daughter and new son in law We put our name in waited the normal 15-20 minutes. Seated, waited for drink order. Coffees come out half filled. About ten minutes the waitress takes our order we wait and wait and WAIT! We were sitting there for forty minutes and the waitress says to us that the food will be right out, twenty minutes later it finally comes ...Cold I don't mean mediocre warm its cold their biscuits and gravy cold all the way to the bottom of the biscuit. We arrived about an hour after opening and only waited a few minutes for a table inside. She ordered the Hawaiian Pancakes while I got the Chocolate Chip Waffle. Food came out fairly quickly considering how busy the place was. She loves pineapple so she loved the Hawaiian pancakes but thought the syrup was a bit much (it's served on the side though). I liked the chocolate chip waffle but I thought they over did it with the whip cream. The coffee is just the right strength and the servers are fairly attentive in refilling your cup. We liked Flappy Jack's a lot. If you're on Route 66 and looking for a good breakfast place, it's worth the detour! read more

We had family visiting from Costa Rica and today we decided to take them for breakfast we had a 40 minute wait to be seated as it was busy! Service was ok Sochi was helpful with our order as there were a couple of small mistakes with our food but, she handled it and it worked out and our niece, husband and their daughter who is four loved the ambiance and the american culture as a fifties diner! I DID NOT like when I went to pay I was told parties of six had a mandatory gratuity added now we were five adults and one child who did not order anything to eat as she has a bland diet and when I went to pay the cashier pressed buttons to bypass the customer gratuity screen and I was forced to pay 18% on our bill which I felt strong armed as I always tip well but, it's my choice and really when she said parties of six always get tip added.... I was like confused as we didn't order anything for the child and I felt angry after we left Stacks because it's not up to the venue to give themselves a tip when I could have been angry with service mistakes on food but, as I said Sochi was helpful and I understand they were very busy but, this needs to stop!! i'm a fair person and tip well but, this really pissed me off i've been a customer of Flappy Jacks/ Stacks for 19 years and have never felt this violated! I will think twice before coming to eat here again.
