I have numerous dogs and cats with chronic/ conditions that require frequent visits to the vet. My family and I were clients at one of the largest vet facilities in Onondaga County for over 40 years and as they grew, their business practices suffered. Great experience. The facilities were well maintained, clean, and cozy. They even had a separate waiting room for dogs and cats (which I appreciated, being a cat owner. It's lower stress on my little guy). The staff were friendly, I was seen quickly (I made an appointment), and they seemed to care about doing a good job. Dr. Lovejoy was great - personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. They also didn't try to pressure / guilt me into spending thousands of dollars I couldn't afford. She was able to talk with me about what options were available that fit within what I am able to spend. Again, great overall experience and I highly recommend them. read more

We moved here a few months ago with 4 dogs in tow. Stack is by far the BEST thing we have found in Syracuse! Our Jack Russell needed surgery to remove bladder stones for the 3rd time. Dr. Clark, Dr. Hurley and Dr. McDonald all collaborated on different treatments for my little guy even trying a homeopathic avenue before deciding that surgery was the best option. I have never had such attentive and caring doctors in all my years as a pet owner. After the Urethreostomy, or making of a new "pee hole", my pup is doing just wonderful and hopefully won't need surgery again for the rest of his days. Dr. McDonald even sent him the sweetest get well card. To top it off, Deb in the front office called as well to check on him make sure his follow-ups were scheduled properly. I really couldn't have asked for better care for my fur baby. If this place and its staff could be cloned and put in every city, the world would be the better for it. read more

I have been bringing all of my dogs to Stacks for over 13 years. Even though we moved from the area we still drive in. With one of my dogs, Jack, now 13 1/2, we visit frequently and see Dr. Hurley. She is amazing! My two younger monsters see Dr. Congel and we love her! And of course, Dr. MacDonald who has done multiple knee surgeries and probably another this fall - amazing!!! Dr. Stack and his staff are truly amazing. I finally had to put my 13 1/2 year old dog down, a very difficult and traumatic choice. The staff from the front desk to Dr. Stack were unbelievable kind and caring. They truly care about the pets and their owners. Before finding Dr. Staff years ago, I had gone to various veterinarians and put down a couple dogs over the years. My dogs have never received the service Stack Veterinary's Office provide. I've been coming here for years. I drive from Cicero - passing several Vet Clinics as I go. But I don't want convenience, I want the best and that's what you get at Stack Veterinary Hospital. It is always clean and smells fresh; the staff is friendly, attentive, knowledgable and friendly. Dr. Stack encourages continuing education and learning what is knew and improved in veterinary medicine. There isn't a doctor there that I wouldn't trust our dog with. Dr. MacDonald is an incredibly knowledgable surgeon - there is no one better. I've reccomended their hospital to several friends who were new to pet ownership and to friends looking for second opinions or wanting to improve care for their pets. Stack hospital took care of my first dog, Rudy, for 9 years. Unfortunately, he got out under the fence 4 winters ago and we never saw him again,. The entire staff at Stack are amazing and the facility is clean & beautiful. Always kind, compassionate and eager to help. My pug Buddy has been going to Stack for his regular care the last 10 months or so, and recently we had to go to a 24 hour animal hospital for a rapidly deteriorating corneal ulcer. The animal hospital advised me to follow up with my vet (Stack) first thing in the morning for a check up visit later that day. I was planning on calling them on my way to work around 7:50am in the morning and I didn't even have to... they called me FIRST at 7:35am, 5 mins after they opened, saying they received Buddy's animal hospital record from the night before and that they wanted to see him ASAP. They didn't have much availability but they squeezed us in with Dr. Stack himself later that afternoon... and they rang us up as a complimentary followup.
