Not a bad place to eat if you need it. Lines are controlled, and seem long, but there's no shortage of daily food, thus there's no reason to push and shove. A lot of people complain about it and I happen to feel it's not so much the quality of the food but the other homeless people in the dining room. They complain, but what do they expect for free from donated resources? Lobster? Filet mignon?
As a vounteer of the associated food pantry, I ate there 4-5 days a week and I won't complain over a free, nutritious meal. At times the available meal didn't quite meet my dietary expectations but rarely do I see myself as a chooser and rather than a person who is lucky to be served decent food.. It's gotta be hard for Ray Trevino who brings an ALMOST UN-SALEABLE food item and puts it skillfully into meals for the masses. There is no way to make everyone happy all the time. People who regularly eat at the dining room are mostly decent people... Many just a paycheck away from homelessness. This could be YOU. read more
