They should post their regulations on their website. They will NOT take any items that are in your house. They missed out on a house full of beautiful furniture. And they will not take seasonal items either. They went to the wrong address and we had to reschedule pickup. They should be more organized and explain their rules up front. read more

I went on a saturday so it was super busy and parking lot was full, but i found a spot eventually. the deals on saturday are the best, i wouldn't come any other day unless discounted like saturdays. When I donate I like it to be a worthy charity. I have always held St Vincent's in that regard . The last three times I've dropped items off they looked through my items and told me they wouldn't take them. I found it rude and offensive ... We tried using the SVdP donation pick up service to donate a 5 YO reclining sofa due to its weight. We were surprised to see they only sent 1 person to drive and do all the pickups for what is a 2 person job. The guy refused to pick up the couch because he saw a few cat hairs when he turned the sections of the couch upside down! We offered to clean the few cat hairs with a hand vac but he was in a hurry and that would take too long. He left without taking a very nice donation. Our personal opinion is he couldn't physically load it himself onto the lift so he wouldn't take it regardless. We are now using another well respected organization to donate our couch. Ive already spoken to them and a few pet hairs are fine (sent a detailed photo) They thoroughly clean the furniture they receive. I would not recommend using the SVdP donation service. Its not really free when you have to wait over a week for a pick up they refuse to take anyways. read more

I like this location. Yes, it is smaller but I aways find great deals when I stop by. The workers are so nice. Nice neighborhood thrifting and close by. They have a dollar rack and I have seen designer brands on that rack. I went today and got about 200 dollars worth of winter clothes for an upcoming trip for ten bucks. They also have a points program. I have found, and they usually have the most, amazing book selections at this location. The amount I saved on just two books here has been worth all my trips I have ever made to shop other items. So far I have purchased a lot of cool storage baskets, bowls, kitchen tools, work uniforms, clothes and even medical gear for a handicapped friend. The parking lot can be tricky to maneuver if they are busy. People with bigger vehicles refuse to park correctly but that is true anywhere I guess. Just be careful. Enter and exit off 7th slowly and you should be fine. read more

I have donated to SVP for 30+ years, never with an issue. I scheduled a furniture pick up donation for two couches. One of which was 18 years old and used for most of that time, the other was 4 years old. The guy inspected it as if he was buying a new car. They refused to take the newer one because of "damage". There is no damage. Its a used couch. I looks used. That's the point, hence its being donated for free. They guy's only response "It doesn't help our cause. Times have changed". Either be more specific on the website (i.e. we don't take used couches that appear used) or retrain your pick up crew. The whole thing felt like they were only trying to make as much money as possible on items vs the charitable intent. If I left the couch on my side walk it would be gone in a day. They didn't get either couch. I will find another charity that is focused on the charitable intent. read more

We paid over $325 to donate furniture and when the driver called and sounded annoyed that there were stairs I had a feeling it wouldn't go well. They then informed us that the furniture items such as a sectional couch would count as multiple items of furniture. They seemed ok to take items until they realized they were heavy. They took a cheap bed that was in poor condition but refused a heavy armor that matched a different bedroom set because they did not want to use a dolly moving cart. I would never waste my time or money using this company again. read more

This location isn't nearly as fancy as the Scottsdale location, but I did find some good deals here. It's clean, organized, and many items in good condition here. I went to the store (2 miles away) and was told they are very picky with their products to sell and a table without chairs is not helpful. this is the 3rd time I've tried to donate to SVDP with no success. fortunately habitat for humanity appreciated the offer. Such a large presence outside I thought for sure I had hit the mother load of thrift stores! I was really disappointed when I walked inside. Unlike the others that left unfavorable reviews, I had a great experience with the staff here. I was welcomed by several different women throughout my visit. The store itself appeared clean and all walkways were clear. The reason for the 3 stars primarily has to do with the inventory. The shelves seemed sparse and each area seemed to be lacking. I was really surprised to find a bar stool that had large chucks of upholstery missing priced for $10 (see photos). The china cabinets (that no one uses anymore) were priced at $200 - wow - really? Usually I find them at other thrift stores priced at under $100. They make great display racks for small businesses once repainted or a crafty diy project but for $200 I can find something brand new at Ikea or Target. They did have a number of household items from Target and some dinnerware from Pier 1 but most everything else was marked "made in China" or without any brand names. Pricing for household items seemed fair and within the range of the other thrift stores. There were very little brand names in the clothing. I did find two items NWT in the women's section but again - nothing remarkable worth reselling. Prices seemed reasonable just the selection seemed really low. Usually I can find a number of brand named items in a St. Vincent de Paul store. Not the case here. Items with an orange tag were 50% off but I didn't notice anything I liked with orange tags. Usually the back rooms are stocked with donations and staff is hustling to put things out. Not here. The back room seemed empty and no one appeared to be putting merchandise out on the floor. I thought maybe they were low on inventory because they just opened due to the pandemic and the protests/riots . Looking at the other reviews though, makes me think otherwise. This thrift store can hold way more merchandise than it had today! I'd try another store if I came to this area again. read more

I walked into this store(very run down by the way)and saw a bike that was exactly what I wanted. A dorky looking male manager yelled at me "the store is closed and to leave". I told him the front door was open and there was no closed sign on the door. The dork actually had the gall to tell me "I have no common sense". I asked him what college he graduated from(no answer from him and I'm a Boston University grad, my common sense has never been ridiculed before). He then had the temerity to insinuate I am stupid since their "gate is closed". It didn't occur to this mensa wannabe that the small gate was for their parking lot not walkin customers. I recommend Goodwill for thrift stores because this is the 2nd bad experience I've had with SVDP. One time I was a customer at their Cottonwood location and they gave me over a year old food which I only noticed when I got back to my apt.! I ran a foodbank in San Diego and am familiar with the nonprofit sector and this guy and SVDP makes the whole sector look bad which is a bad idea when more people are looking for low cost stores. Note to SVDP staff: Think about how the Saint Vincent would view your behavior and treatment of customers. Not recommended. read more

My friend recommended this location as great for drop-off, it was close to me, and so I loaded up my car! They have a great donation area with MULTIPLE staff members to unload your car FOR YOU! Um...Goodwill sure as heck doesn't have ANYONE to help you unload, let alone 3-4 cheerful, appreciative, and funny folks like St Vincent de Paul has! My father did volunteer work for Saint Vincent de Paul for years, buying groceries and bringing them to families in need. He often brought me along. He never explained. We just bought groceries and gave them to people. Nothing needed to be said. It made an impression on me that this was powerful and good work. I want to carry on his work. My volunteer work is to set donations of clothes and household items on my front porch. Really great people come and pick them up, put them in their truck, give me a receipt and a friendly thanks, and drive away. Very pleasant experience, plus it helps me make good use of my extra belongings. read more

Tried to donate perfect bookcases', dinning chairs and a 70" tv. Was advised to put everything outside by 07:00AM and they've be here between 07:00AM and 05:00PM. They arrived with a "Full Truck" and only took the 70" tv and left the bookcases and perfectly good dinning chairs. To add insult to injury, the driver was rude and did not even say thank you. I'm in shock!! Went to the store to check out the quality of the stuff they were selling and thought - well all my stuff is much nicer than this - so they can probably use it. Kept my best stuff for them. Admittedly, others in the neighborhood wanted my stuff and I gave some of it to them - SVDP made me wait 6 days then all day for their driver. Driver shows up takes a bunch of pictures for a "buyer" and said they didn't want it. I figured out they weren't collecting for the SVDP store - just looking for newer pieces to sell direct to a third party. I was extremely upset - I held the pieces past the Phoenix bulk pickup to they could have them - even my bulk pickup stuff was pilfered it was so nice. So I don't know what game is going on at SVDP but the hoodlum looking guys that showed up for my furniture seemed to be part of a scam of some kind. I scheduled a pick up for furniture three days prior as is required. I called the day before to confirm the pick up and was given the time of 10 to 12 on the day of pick up after waiting two hours post latest time I called and was transferred five times with the final being to a manager named Swan. That phone line never picked up and just kept ringing. I've called back three different times and no one knows what they're doing. Do not donate here and honestly do not shop either. Their ethics have gone downhill so badly I am just in shock... It started while I was waiting to drop off donations of clothing and furniture... I got engaged and we both had been living separately for years so now have two of everything in the kitchen, furniture-wise etc. to go through and make donations. As I sit in my car, waiting to pull up to the little carport they have set up for donations, I see workers going through them immediately... At first I don't think anything of it UNTIL I see a man go straight over to a dumpster that is filthy and throws an entire bin of clothing and random items into it... I then start to observe... Without much thought they are in fact going through donations and just throwing away most everything LOL. I look around where I am parked and see just filth and junk all around the dumpsters. Clothing that looked perfectly fine from my then second car in line position... Being immediately tossed into a bin to be thrown in the dumpster. I was donating one piece of furniture so I just went through with donating it and decided to go inside to see what the store was like... I used to live on 7th St and Clinton just North of here so I came in here often about 8 years ago... My goodness the store snd employees have changed... Mostly racks full of cheap Amazon clothing with the tags still so "NEW" is what they sell here now. It is not a THRIFT store much at all but reselling Amazon stock lol... There is furniture super overpriced for what it is and new, very cheaply made Amazon clothing at the same price you can buy it new. Anything used it seems like they throw in the dumpster or on the ground next to dumpsters when they are full. So incredibly shocking and disheartening... I will never donate anything nice here ever again after how I saw them treating clearly clean donations, lamps, dishes etc. Just absolutely contributing to waste on this planet and disregarding people in need who could use all of the items. This is not a true charity any longer. PERIOD! Please donate your nice items to one of the smaller charity shops throughout city... St Vincent has become just like Goodwill. I have donated at this location for years. They take just about everything. You pull up to the loading area and one of the friendly staff will help assist you pull everything out of your vehicle and give you a receipt. Sometimes your given a coupon to save a percentage of your future purchases. I have visit the store just to see what types of items they have displayed. The store itself may be a little pricey for a thrift store, but St. Vincent's is a great organization that does a lot of good in the valley. I've been donating both clothing and furniture here for years. The reason for the one star comes down to the woman working the register. She thought it appropriate to spew hate speak and tout her anti-abortion misplaced ideas on me when I was attempting to pay for a few items. I don't agree with her views and found it completely inappropriate that she took the opportunity to hold my items hostage as she threw her views at me. I went to St. Vincent De Paul for grade school and Bourgade for high school, I know all about people like her and their views. They don't belong in a place of business. Planned Parenthood has helped more women in Phoenix and the greater state of Arizona than her backwoods mind could wrap itself around. Next time she wants to vomit her ideas I suggest she go stand in a picket line or protest rally. I will not be returning nor donating to St. Vincent in the future. read more

I tried to donate items that were valuable enough that i kept them in a storage unit. The pickup driver noticed a very small tear on the back side of a couch, sent a picture to someone, and decided they didn't want any of the items. So I have visited this location multiple times, And I always seem to like the items they have in the store. Almost more times than not the furniture is always overpriced 50+ dollars per item but today I happened to score a garment rack for $15 that was stored right next to a dresser as well as other bedroom furniture with the tag also marked as such. I carry the item to the register and proceeded to ask the gentleman if there is any sales he told me there are 30% off furniture I said awesome and asked if I could hold it at the register he proceeded to look at the item and see if the cost was only $15 and said I'm going to consider this a household item and not furniture so it won't be 30 precent off. The woman at the register next to him even looked appalled at the fact he just stated otherwise. Last time I was here this guy was having a verbal dispute and kicking another man out of the store, His conduct an attitude towards customers clearly he should remain as a back office employee and not on the floor with sales people the woman at the register clearly had everything under control and he seem to be the only one stirring confusion on the sales floor. His demeanor is rude and one that is extremely not polite. Little did he know this vintage garment rack is well worth more than the $15 I paid for it as to why I continue to proceed with the purchase anyway but for future reference this store should consider alleviating this employees bad attitude when it comes to engaging with customers it sincerely not acceptable or deserving of clients or customers who want to spend money at the store. He should not have a right to pick and choose whom he provides a discount to. Yet again I've visited this location and the customer service is HORRIBLE. Today November 4th i went Into this location and picked up several items, none of these items were price and a sales associate was extremely rude when I continue to ask prices on items that I was interested in purchasing. When I brought the untagged items that she has verbally quoted me on to the register to check out the then rang them at a different price than she quoted me. I tried to drop off over a dozen pair of Levi's jeans in excellent condition and three brand new Nike sweatshirts today, but they denied my donation because they only accept donations until 4 PM even though the store is open until 6 PM. I told them I did not need a receipt, but they refused my donation that would've brought a lot of money!! I've been coming here for over a year and usually love this store but I just witnessed the new manager tell a volunteer she couldn't buy clothes for 24hrs since it was new or something....she even offered to buy them at full price but they told her no. It looks like she was buying baby clothes, I was gonna offer to buy them for her but she left the store. I don't think I can support a store that treats their volunteers like that. This is one of my favorite thrift shops. The remodeled it and made it very open and bright. It is not as large as some and may not have as much stock but what they have is pretty good. If I am really looking for something, often times I will find it here. Don't ask me what there discounts are for different days, I can't tell you. I just know the inventory is usually pretty good. I walked in today and found a bicycle for $75 that with a little work will be equivalent to the $200+ used bicycles I have been looking at. Also, I have been looking for new chairs to go with my umbrella table. What I paid $10.50 each for today are wonderful. Do I always find exactly what I am looking for there, no. What I do find is good quality and is an interesting browsing store. I am happy. read more

I shopped that store for years. I always had fun found bargains and fun stuff. The staff was great, friendly, helpful, pleasant. Since the new management came in with the staff from the Bell Rd. store the place had turned into a Goodwill store/Antique curio high price hybrid. The elderly woman at the register spouts of about weird stuff, is very rude, takes her time at the counter on her phone before assisting customers. An older man with a cap and beard barks at customers making rude remarks and comments in front of you and walks off. The store has turned into a sea of clothing racks, rusted tools priced like rare antiques and furniture prices doubled. The curio sections have been reduced by half and what is on the shelves has been priced as if they were brand new. The staff that has remained from before the new staff are still very kind and helpful but I won't be shopping there any more. If I'm going to be barked at, treated rudely, listen to the manager berating staff then I'll spend my money elsewhere! read more

I really like this store, the people are friendly and the place is clean, uncluttered and busy. There's not a thrift store smell you get in other places and the prices are reasonable. Was shopping here today and witnessed an interaction between a volunteer and the manager of the store. It seemed the volunteer was trying to make a purchase after her "shift" and the manager would not let her purchase clothes for her baby! I could clearly see that the volunteer was upset about this as I'm sure that is one of the only benefits that come from providing free labor here. I have shopped here for years and it appears there is new management. Prices have all gone up on things and now this. Honestly this place has seen a huge decline since the new management has come in. When you're out there hunting, looking for a come up, this is f*cking awesome. You'll be such a cold-ass honkey decked out in your grandpa's clothes, but they do not have any Velcros with which to impress the sneakerheads on your block. The mattresses in the rear of the store really do smell like R. Kelly's sheets. I don't personally shop for apparel in thrift stores, but I did walk out with a Mountain Dew t-shirt, because sh*t, it was .99 cents! *Proceeds go to a very worthwhile charity so the more you buy from St. Vincent De Paul, the better. read more
