This is a cute little store. It has a small parking lot in front, not sure if there is more parking in the back. Walking up I did get a big wiff of old/dingy smell. The selection was decent and clothing was organized in size. Everything was priced reasonably, like what thrift store should charge. Staff was very nice! Overall this has been my go-to thrift store for a long time. They just increased their prices on everything significantly which is a real bummer since this used to be one of the more affordable thrift stores. Prices are almost at Goodwill level now. Kids clothes used to be .99 and now they're all of a sudden $2.00/piece which is just crazy for used children's clothes at a charity shop. Super Thrift down the road will now become my go-to, much more reasonable prices. read more

I'm writing from the prospective of being a potential donor. I submitted a request to donate goods (furniture, mostly, on behalf of the family of a neighbor who had passed away). I followed up with a phone call and spoke with a woman for 20 minutes or so, most of which consisted of her screaming at me. First, she grilled me about the condition of the items (they're all in fine condition); then, she berated me about the number of stairs that the driver would have to climb. I assured her that the wide front porch had only 4 steps and the lobbty (which had a tall ceiling) had 4 more steps up to the hallway of the building. She scolded me that the total number of steps had to be 4 or fewer and I replied that the stairs were easy to navigate, there were tall ceilings everywhere and there was no turning -- just a straight shot into the building. She then did a Google Earth search of the building and told me that the neighborhood looked crowded and warned me, angrily, that if the driver can't find a place to park that he'll "just drive past your building". I suggested that maybe we could park a couple of our cars in front to save a space for the truck. Eventually, she agreed, and told me that the truck would be there the following day and gave me an 'all day' window for it. After waiting 6 hours, the following day, I called to 'check in' and was told by another individual that our address was 'not on the schedule' and that the soonest they could arrange to pick up the furniture was 2 weeks later. I then called "Out of the Closet" and they were polite and informative, showed up within a 2-hour window a few days later and took as much as they could, given the size of the load and the size of their truck. I'm not sure what this woman's problem was: She was angry from the time she picked up the phone and unlike Out of the Closet, who, repeatedly thanked me for my donation (before and after they picked it up), all the St Vincent de Paul rep did was scream at me. And her voice was truly irritating. (This is a woman who shouldn't be answering any phones). read more

We came here the place is pretty big. I noticed they had a lot of things that were older. Most books were older. They had a lot of Christmas decorations at a great price. First, 72 years old I live in Santa Rosa it's going to be a year I lost my little dog he was 16 yrs old {I love more than life} I'm retired on a very strict budget. I have no money never could save neither. My 2004 Honda Civic tags expired 11/26/2024 and my insurance lapsed. DMV had sent me 4 notices' last one was from Francise Tax Board Collection states I had until the 24th of this month to pay in full or garnishment would begin. I had heard that St. Vincent has a program to pay in full. I had called finally a lady answered she was more than willing to help she also said to call to see if my zip code was in their area. About 2 hours later I got a call left a voice I called back the next morning spoke to a man he knew my name and asked a few questions verify my address and the amount he said he would come to my home drop off a money order made out to DMV. he arrived at 5pm I opened my door he handed me the money my tears I was grateful he expresses his sincere caring. This used to be a very cheap place to shop. It is still one of the cheaper 2nd hand shops but like other places the prices have gone up. I buy a lot of plates for my mosaics. They used to be Anywhere from $.25 to a dollar. Now the plates I've seen at the Dollar Store for $1 were 2.50. They still have bargains but just not as good. read more

$1 for a pair of clearly used socks is wild. You can get new nice socks for that price at target or Walmart. Don't go on a hot day, there's no AC and it's hot and miserable inside. So, I loaded up my car with clothing, shoes, appliances and dishes. The donation gate was closed with a note they were full or maxed out for donations. Wow, what a surprise. Can't imagine you could have too many donations with all the homeless and unemployed people we have in this county. It makes one wonder if their prices are too high and why they aren't giving away some of their "maxed out" supply. I could not find anything on the website saying not to try and drop off donations, so I'm kind of irritated at having made the effort for nothing. Goodwill was small and didn't have a lot to choose from. Lots of furniture. Prices were decent but I just didn't see anything worth buying. You would think that in a nicer neighborhood the store would have decent stuff. Also it was so hot. So unfair to have your employees work without any AC. This thrift store has a great mission and generally friendly staff. At times there are long stretches where inventory is stale. Lots of broken items. It can be hit or miss, and some of the high prices are laughable. They do have sales quite often and offer senior, veteran and student discounts. Still a regular shopper here...but have to say, the books section that was so wonderfully organized and well stocked has completely deteriorated since the VOLUNTEER book lady stopped working there. Well, she came back to fix things up for about 18 VOLUNTEER hrs and it was great. But won't last. HELLO!!! I bought many more books after she worked her magic there. Why can you not pay someone to do this properly? It will make you more money by selling many more books if they remain neat and organized. read more

After researching for a week which big charity takes couches for donations in Marin county we learned that only St. Vincent's in Rohnert Park had "room" for large furniture...and we would have to bring it to them. They do not provide pick-up service to Stinson Beach. I took the hour "plus" drive to deliver the 2 couches which are 4 years old and in great condition. The loveseat is a glider with reclining chairs and the longer couch has 2 recliners. When I arrived at their "loading dock" in back of the facility there was no "able body" person available to help me unload them. I did it by myself. I'm 74 years old. After unloading them, a slight-bodied man told me that he would not accept them because there was a small "spot" on one of the couches. I could not believe my ears! I will never again send any cash donations or other donations to St. Vincent de Paul's. read more

This is one of my favorite thrift shops. They have pretty reasonable prices and weekly sales on Thursday-Saturday. Sometimes the sale is 50% Men's, or shoes, or sometimes it's 50% storewide, which is great! It's usually not too busy or crazy. It's a frequent stop of mine as a reseller. My only real complaint is that there isn't a huge turnover. They don't get as much new inventory as some other places, so there's a good chance if you come within a week of your last visit, there will be a lot of the same inventory. But overall a great place to get a good deal. read more

I like supporting a good cause with my dollars, and this place definitely offers that. Most of the money goes to a local hospice and that warms my heart and keeps me coming back. This place is definitely cheaper than Good Will with employees that are very welcoming and kind. It's a bit of a treasure trove, so one has to hunt a bit to find the pearls. They have many days where items are discounted for seniors, students, and just because. I've scored paintings, linens, costume ideas, books, baskets, and trinkets for bargains. I usually frequent here right before school starts to get classroom supplies (reusable napkins, rags, towels, silverware, organization tools, or yarn). Often, I can walk out of here with bags filled while only spending twenty bucks. If you become a regular here, the workers will notify you when larger sales are happening. For instance, a few months back the manager was trying to move through inventory quickly as the back storage space was filled to capacity. Almost everything was 40% off or more. I was able to get a nice tablecloth with matching napkins for 40 cents, a beautiful pair of Lenox candlestick holders for $1, and a half dozen books for 10 cents each. It was a bargain! Oh, and from time to time, they get in mattresses, beautiful wooden furniture (cradles, shelves, tables...etc) and sports equipment. If one keeps an eye out and is patient, one can really get a great deal here. read more

Sadly, this place seems to be going downhill. I used to so enjoy buying fabric and craft supplies here. The prices were great and the staff always nice. The last couple of years though, the prices are jacked up ridiculously high for the quality of merchandise that is for sale. I rarely find craft items or fabric any more. And the clothing always looks like a mess, especially the women's section. I wish I lived closer as I would VOLUNTEER to help you folks fix this mess. Had an unfortunate encounter at this business when dropping off quite a lot of outgrown baby, kids, and adult clothing and shoes (hello, pandemic). One of the staff members was audibly acting like I was putting her out. To be fair, the person I actually interacted with was kind and professional, the displeased person was off to the side on break or something. Anyway, I fear that it was all just trashed out of sheer laziness to go through it. I am always confused when organizations ask for these types of donations and then have folks working that act inconvenienced when it's done. It defeats the purpose all together. I only make it in here once every couple of years since I rarely have reason to visit this part of Rohnert Park. But it seems like every time I've ever stopped in at random, I've come away with some great finds. A few years ago I blundered in on a sale day where I got a bunch of great "higher end" shirts for 25 cents each. Another time it was a trove of cargo pants and painters jeans that looked brand new for like 2 bucks each. This most recent trip they were clearing out a pile of old PC games for 25 cents each, among which were a couple I've been wanting to get for a while. It seems like one of those few thrift shops that aren't instantly picked over by "professional thrift flippers" when they put their new stuff out. Yeah it's dingy and disorganized but that's part of the charm to me, finding some amazing deal or randomly finding something you've wanted for awhile for like next to no money in some dusty corner. I can't say I saw any of the price inflation that the negative reviews listed here either. And as if the prices weren't low enough already, veterans can go on Wednesday for a 40% off your total (with your medical ID or even a Vets Advantage card, no need for DD214) read more

I really like this place. It is perhaps the last place I can find a small treasure for cents. I really like all the staff. This place is huge! The store is a big warehouse that holds aisles of clothes and they have mountains of it in the back. I've bought several precious items from this place. I wish I would of read some of the reviews before I decided to donate my clothes and stuff. A week before hand I took a few boxes of clothes and had no problem but this time the employee was picking through what I was donating. As I am bring in my first box of clothes she starts going through them and starts to separate things that she wanted and didn't want. She said I can take things items back that they didn't want them. As soon as she said that I stopped in the rest of my items that were still in my car stayed right where it was. Let me tell you what you did miss out on. I had at least 12 pair of Levi's pants which 4 were brand new. 3 men dress suites all in excellent condition. A total of 18 (yes 18 I counted them lol) and lots of dress shirts again all in excellent condition. So how much money do you think you could of made with these items? So next time somebody bring you donation dont be so fast to be picky because I am sure the good will out weight the bad. You need to learn to be more thankful when the public is supporting you because with out us there is no you! I hope you take notice there is several bad reviews for this same problem you are having !!! read more

This is a great thrift store! You need quite a bit of time to look through everything since it is so big but I always find some treasures. The staff is very friendly and they have amazing sales and discount days. Monday-Wednesday is senior discount day for people 60yrs old and up. And they even have a student discount day for college students on Wednesday. And also a military discount on Monday. I would definitely recommend! read more

Absolutely terrible service. The employee working there was so rude they told us there were closing soon and we said that's okay we will only be a minute or so. Then 30 seconds later some lady comes out and says were closing you need to hurry up. (Keep in mind they didn't close for another 5 minutes). We said okay just a second and she responded with you need to purchase something now or get out. We did not have a rude tone or anything the lady was just so rude I was shocked. I went back a second time because they do have a decent selection of men's clothing and it's close to the other Rohnert Park thrift store. I ended up finding the exact same Brooks Brothers dress shirt in a different color but instead of $4.50, it ended up being just $2.25 on a half off day. The high prices on some of the premium items still bothers me ($20-$30) but they do have good deals on some quality items. A bonus about this location is the El Polo Loca down the street. read more

I'm deeply disappointed. I've been donating/shopping here for years and never have I encountered a situation as such today. The staff already knows me and my face despite having a mask on. Today I went in to look for some clothes for myself and my little sister. I found her some nice clothes on the children's rack but they were rung up as women's clothes when my mom went to pay. When we tried to correct the mistake, the manager Anne argued there was no mistake. She argued the clothes were small and extra small women's. Obviously the employee who put them there thought they were for kids too. For a small bag of used clothes, we were charged $35. Not only has SVDP become pricey with furniture but also with used clothes, some of which are torn, stained or simply worn out. I was charged $6.49 for a used wrinkled romper missing two buttons. I love the employees that have been kind to me but I won't be shopping here again nor will I be donating my items. read more

I come into this thrift store quite frequently. This last visit on Saturday (nov. 5th) I had the displeasure of dealing with a new loud and obnoxious woman working the register. She was constantly yelling which was annoying enough and at one point I heard her yelling "Bay Area Bay Area more like GAY AREA GAY AREA" she seemed like she was on drugs or maybe recovering from a meth problem that has made her "tweekey" for the rest of her life. Anyway, that was offensive to me.. and then one of her coworkers asked her "do we accept credit cards?" She looked at him and said "are you STONED?" Right in front of the customer.. then she said she wanted to "smack his face" he seemed remedial and I am sure they hire special needs people for volunteer. This woman seemed like she was working off some jail time. Anyhow...please remove this woman from your store. She's a joke. Makes it look bad for everyone working there. read more
