I urge anyone reading this who has not yet spoken up to file complaints with the CFPB, contact the attorney general, and reach out to the Better Business Bureau.

Not only was I thanked in person, but they sent me a nice note in the mail as well! The Dysart Community Center offers GED classes, ESL classes, parenting classes, and after-school care for kids. It also has a fun summer camp as well. The people here really do care about making a difference in the community and it's refreshing to meet with people who maintain that passion despite the day in-day out grind. Very proud to have this center in our community.

A love train…read more URRKN stands for Underground Railroad Rescue Kitty Network and was started by Tina LaBlanc in Oct of 2011. It's a way of transporting kitties from shelters, foster homes and temporary homes to their "forever homes". It's basically a series of wonderful volunteers that are willing to transport cats from one place to another. One long trips each volunteer will drive whatever distance they feel comfortable and then meet another volunteer at a prearranged location. On a long trip it might be many volunteers that selflessly give their time and transportation to help the kitty get to it's finally destination. A person waiting for the kitty can actually keep track on the progress as the cat travels on it's "love train". We recently adopted a kitty from Florida that had to be transported to Rhode Island. We contacted URRKN and volunteers were quickly arranged so our kitty, Gersemi, arrived to us quickly and in great health and spirits. There is no charge for this incredible service but of course donations are accepted. It all depends on the kindness and generosity of strangers who anonymously do good without asking for anything but a simple thank you. The volunteers of the URRKN along with Tina LaBlanc, are doing great deeds in a quiet way. So I feel the need to respond to the negative reviews, especially Brenda T. Our Gersemi was…read moretransported prior to our donation being sent in. So it is simply not true that the cats will not be transported unless large sums of money are donated. It is true that organization times vary. Ours was fairly long - but that was the fault of the foster mom and myself not staying "on task". Certainly, one of the tie-ups was getting Gersemi's health records, without which she would not have been transported. So any driver should know that they are transporting a sick or contagious cat, and keep it isolated during transport. If the adopter is so equipped to nurse a sickly cat back to health, or willing to share their home with only one cat because it has FIV and is contagious, more power to her/him. I cannot speak to the incidences of volunteers being asked to donate money for administrators expenses. That would be a "poor choice" on Tina's part. If asked, just say "no". Unfortunately, in large organizations, there are always personal friendships that develop that may appear to be favoritism or, on the other hand, conflicts that arise. It's just not logical to expect anything else. Our particular experience happened to be superlative. All the volunteers were spot on. Everyone kept everyone else informed as to the progress, where Gersemi was, and when the next transporter could expect her to arrive. Even had a short update from the person at the B&B. Gersemi arrived in apparent good condition and good spirits. Especially after having spent two days in various cars. In fact, I think Gersemi took to it better than my husband does/did!

They do a great service to the community by providing mobility equipment and home health aids for 90 days at no charge. We used a wheelchair for a week when my father wanted to see his granddaughter graduate college and knew he would not be able to walk the campus even with his walker. When my father moved in with us, they provided things like transfer benches to get him into the tub until the ones that we had ordered could get to us. And most recently this week, I broke several toes and was able to borrow a knee scooter for a few months Not only does this charity provide items that people only need temporarily and can't really afford to rent on their own. But they also help keep them out of the landfills and in the hands of people that need them

The two girls at the desk are jibber-jabbering with each other. One looks up long enough to say "Take a number". Take a number and sit down. They continue their conversation. Other people come in. Some are told to take numbers, while others are allowed to have extended conversations with the clerks. How they determine who gets immediate service and who has to wait is a mystery. After a time, one girl gets up and wanders off somewhere, while the other talks on the phone. This goes on for a while until they call your number, at which time you show them your ID and they look you up in the system, hand you a card and tell you to go park your car around the side of the building. While you wait, other cars pull up, have their boxes loaded almost immediately, while you sit there and wait. And wait. Finally someone comes out and sticks a box of food in your car and life goes on.

I pulled up to unload a few donations, which took less than a minute, and the employee immediately complained about my truck's exhaust and told me I needed to shut it off. I understand being mindful of air quality, but the interaction felt unnecessary and came across as rude, especially considering how quickly I was unloading. A little kindness and appreciation toward people donating their time and items would go a long way. I understand the concern about exhaust, but the way it was addressed felt unnecessarily abrupt. I was unloading for less than a minute and would have appreciated a polite request rather than being told what I "need" to do next time

Gem of a thrift shop! The proceeds go to an amazing cause. While the store is smaller than other…read morethrift shops, I liked that because it wasn't overwhelming to look at everything. Things are well organized and easy to look through. The men's clothing selection is quite small so just be prepared. We didn't find any clothing this time around, but we did find some other good stuff! The staff is friendly. We had a lot of fun shopping in here. The prices are very reasonable, which is a bonus!

They were kind enough to let an org we volunteer with use their car park to feed hot meals, and deliver snacks, drinks, hygiene, pet supplies, and clothing to the less fortunate. It is an impressive facility offering a variety of programs and activities, they have a basketball court, a Healthmobile, and one of my favorite groups is for Grandparents who are raising their grandkids; they meet once a month for the adults to socialize, and the kids to play and engage in other activities. Was very impressed with the facility and the staff, the local Councilwoman came out to help us serve. We look forward to further collaboration with our neighbors in need.

I am super irritated with the service my mom received. My mother is on Medicare, during a visit to…read morean urgent care we were told to visit them so they can help her out to get the most benefits and the lady said she used to work there and that they were super nice. Well, I could have helped my mom just fill out the papers she needed to be fully covered but chose to let her go to this place since they are experts. Big mistake. The lady that helped her kept telling my mom that her parents never asked for anything and that they worked all her life. I won't go into too much details but she made her feel like she was doing something wrong. She came home crying saying she shouldn't of applied for anything. To top it off the lady sent in her ahcccs application without a signature which only delayed her process. Very irritated. So much for being a community center.
