I went to Justa Center to have somewhere to hang as living in my car was boring. I did not ask for service, but got treated with the utmost respect as a person. The Quality I received was throough, as I got help getting off the street. I think they liked my dog, as they took care of him first. Shots, License, check-up. I love Justa Center as they are perfect for getting help when you are homeless. It has been close to 3 years, and I am getting ready to go homeless again, as I am having surgury in the next week, and cannot work to pay my rent. I need more help, this time with a pro bono lawyer about my past that stops me from getting a place I can actually afford. It has been over 23 years, and I still have a record that says 'just live in your car' and my record is really old and now the drug is legal. I will go back to Justa very soon, as soon as I can get some add'l gas to get there. Thanks Justa! read more

This is for homeless senior citizens. I've never felt unwelcome. Go in early at 7 am Monday through Friday fill out some paperwork to do intake and you're a member. The people here are fantastic. The staff is wonderful and caring. The director Rudy is the bomb. Everyone always trying to keep everyone in good cheer. Hot lunches at 1030am Monday through Friday. Usually a church brings food on Saturdays. Sundays is usually pizza. Currently open until 730 from 4-730;is a cooling center and everyone is welcome to come in. Winter hours are 7-230. There's help with housing ,to replace documents, a nurse and visiting mobile Dr every Tuesday. Can charge phones and use the phone room. Showers and laundry also available. You can sit outside in back for smokers or in the day room and watch tv. Lockers are available at minimal cost. Pets always welcome. Special event days throughout the year. Currently starting transitional housing for 62+. Mailroom available mon-fri 9-930 am. I love it here read more

Justa center works hard to serve the elderly in our community. They provide a very needed service and hope to those in need.

Justa Center management changed in 2018 and the services being offered have greatly improved for the seniors being served by the center. The center works diligently to make sure those being helped receive the care they request to get rehoused. Volunteers are always appreciated. read more

The Justa Center holds a very special place in my heart. Over the summer I stopped by here to drop off some TV's as a donation. When I arrived, I was offered a tour of the center and it left such a huge impression on me. This place is so special. Ever since that tour, I haven't been able to get the Justa Center out of my mind. This place is a day resource center for homeless seniors 55+, and many of them are veterans. The Justa Center is the only facility in Phoenix that caters specifically to homeless seniors, a demographic that often gets forgotten. During my tour I saw first hand how many seniors rely on the resources provided by this center. They provide computers with internet access, books, a TV, hot showers, and most importantly, they provide lockers that the seniors can use to lock up their belongings. In addition, I was informed that the staff at the Justa Center also works with individuals to help them obtain benefits that they might not be able to get on their own or that they may not even know about, such as social security or VA benefits. They also provide housing assistance and resources to help seniors get back on their feet. I thought that was really valuable because a lot of seniors may not have family members or friends that they can count on. I'm grateful to have such a positive place within the Phoenix community, and it's evident that the staff at the Justa Center goes above and beyond to help these individuals. It's pretty incredible. Donation wise, the Justa Center relies on the generosity of the community as I learned that they do not receive any government funding. When I've donated things in the past, they have always given me a receipt (some donations are tax deductable). They accept tons of new and used items, such as office supplies, reading glasses, socks, unused toiletries, backpacks, watches, computers, household furniture, books, USB drives, bus tickets, calling cards, anything that can help to furnish a home, etc. On another note, I thought it was very cool that they have a small library of books for reading material. Everyone shares the books, and they have quite the collection! My plan is to donate my used books to add to it. =) To sum up the Justa Center in one word it would be - Amazing. So, if you have gently used furniture or electronics that are still in great shape but just sitting around collecting dust in your garage.... bring them over to the Justa Center! I was looking for a place to donate my parent's clothing after they passed away. A friend recommended Justa Center due to the fact that they provide services to individuals over the age of 55. I packed up their belongings and drove to the Center. I am very glad that I gave these precious items to those most truly in need. The Center survives solely on private donations so they can help everyone without the necessity of governmental "red tape." I likewise received a tour of the facility and was told that individuals over the age of 55 are the largest growing segment of the homeless population. They provide free books, clothing, and internet, as well as job assistance and legal advice (provided by a couple of wonderful pro bono attorneys) to the "elderly" population. I believe my parents would be proud to know that some of those most in need are now wearing my father's suit and my mother's cherished Alfred Dunner clothing. This Center is in need of ANYTHING that can help those who are less fortunate get back on their feet, including household items. If you want to go to directly to the poor and homeless to help them, this is the place to go. I wish them the very best! read more

Horrible experiences. I have scheduled pick ups (same items) on 5 occasions. The first 3 were r/s for the teacher strike. I cannot recall why the 4th was r/s, I believe driver was out. I was told 2 weeks ago, that THIS MONDAY at 1 pm, a driver would pick up my (generous) donations. at 10:20 this am, I got a text saying he was 20 min away. I stated my pick up time was at 1 pm, (showed text confirmation). Still wanting to get this done, I said if I left my meeting at now, the best I could do was 11:30. I arrived home at 11:20. no driver. At 11:55, I asked his ETA, i was told (by the driver) that he came and "just" left. Never bothered to even let me know he arrived (doubtful, as I watched out the window for his arrival). I asked if he could verify address, he sent a pic, AROUND THE CORNER from my gate, out of viewing distance. I asked if he would be returning, the told me to find another agency to accept my donations. He must REALLY care about the Justa Center...very sad. they lost out on over $1k of donations- very nice things bc of a move. read more

I was at justa center April 2011 - January 2013, what I get out of is if you behave and are quiet and try to be helpful then it's a welcoming place if you are over 55 and homeless, they give you a meal and let you take a shower and you can have laundry done, and have housing and government resources, however you will wear out your welcome in about six months especially if you can't get a income, whether that would a job or government assistance. It is true that justa center puts less value on women then men and a lot of men wish the women would disappear. They win in any dispute also, I felt hated as if they wanted me to leave and not come back, they seem to see it as if you're not trying hard enough and you are taking advantage of them. They have to know deep down that age and sex goes against job seekers. But they don't let this show. I left because staff announced this: If you're not working on you're homeless situation, you don't need to be here. If you're are here just to eat a meal then you don't need to be here. If you're here just to take a shower or laundry then you don't need to be here, in fact if you're here just to sit down then you don't need to be here go sit on the curb, all of these services are for people with incomes signed up for housing.
