I was under the impression that anything sold would be reflected as a store credit to be used at our discretion. I stopped in a couple of weeks ago to buy some dishes and asked to use my credit. I was informed that there was no credit and that a check had been issued, that is now expired. I had a check...when?? That was not at all clear and I was not notified. I sent a message and received a call from the store about the issue, and nothing will be done. Not even a hint at a possible solution besides too bad, but the check is expired, nothing more. I asked if people are notified about consignment checks and they are NOT. The checks are put in a drawer and removed upon expiration if they weren't picked up. Even if I misunderstood, shouldn't customers be notified of money they are owed for personal items sold? I'm surprised that no message is ever sent. So, I gave my items to the store for free. My patronage must be very low priority. Questionable business practice and extremely frustrating.

They live off of public's possessions (commissions) when they do sell n when they don't, it isn't their problem. They are returned to the owners n if not wanted back, they get donated to a thrift store. I wonder if they get a tax write off on that. WATCH OUT! If u buy electronics, cookware or cosmetics...MONEY BACK OR STORE CREDIT policy is voided if not returned within 24hours after purchase when not working which they don't post anywhere in their store. LOOK AT ALL THE ONE STARS on reviews...doesn't that tell u a lot? What's with the wanting of donation/drop off of used plastic bags! Arent u a paying customer? Even the people taking free groceries from the local pantry get new plastic bags! Why do u deserve a used bag? Money in the pockets for those corporation big bosses! Have u seen the clearance section? Your once priced possessions are just thrown into a corner like rejected toys. There is no customer is right policy these days because it is about greed! Money, money, money! Yours makes them grow. I know that it won't matter to them but this one customer wont be shopping there any more.

New useable and wearable items are handed to STUFF as consignments and that is one way how TAKE gets some fundings to pay for things like toiletries, packing tapes and more. As a VOLUNTEER, like any places where you volunteer, there is a 'hierarchy' which means pleasant and unpleasant people. There is no teamwork here, you go in and inspect and hang clothings during those hours that they are open. There is a sign-up schedule. There is no pricing to tag on items at all which makes this easier. You are taught by others who share the same inspecting and sorting tables and where to hang the different sizes and types of clothing. Some volunteers do not follow 'orders' from the leader or the system and at times, make their own decisions when there are doubts with the conditions of the items. As a SHOPPER - 'Some do not adhere to the rules on how many they can take to fill the grocery bags that are given at the door upon entry. Personal handbags and grocery bags are not allowed while 'shoppers' are browsing and selecting. There is also a limit on how many times you and your family are allowed to shop. You fill out a short form before you are given the bags. Little children are best left at home for shoppers to concentrate on what they need and want. As Christmas draws near, they have a small corner of the store designated for Christmas gifts and decorations. Hours are short from Monday through Friday. I salute the leader of this organization for taking on this undertaking as it is A LOT to deal with. The whole organization is a volunteer based.

The saying is true that you never know who is watching when you're misbehaving. Unfortunately,…read morewhile shopping on 08/09 around 5:30 pm I saw an employee being mistreated by a snarky old woman and the manager. When I first came in the manager lady was telling the employee how she wanted him to stand near the register tagging items while watching customers, so no theft occurred. I have worked retail before and the gun that puts the plastic tags on can snag your finger if you are not paying attention. So, the young man demonstrates, and she still stands there and belittles him. After she went to the back area again, he is working organizing clothes and rearranging things while watching as she requested when the snarky lady approaches him and is asking about discounts and how she can essentially stack them on each other. Its already 50% off today and she is asking about veteran and senior discounts on top of them. He tried to explain to her that he wasn't sure and in true Karen fashion here comes the manager. These women were so demeaning to this young black man it was horrible. I have never seen a manager allow a customer to abuse an employee this way and then start helping her even though I am sure I just heard him say he started Tuesday...Its Saturday now! I knew the quality of this store went down when all new people were brought in and I see I was correct. All the people that cared are gone so think about that before purchasing anything from them.

We also happened to have had a lot of coats we no longer wear, some never worn, and when we had called some of our regular drop off locations in town, were informed they aren't accepting any clothing donations at this time, but we're thrilled to see that Encore was willing to accept our donations. They do have requirements on what they accept and what their greatest needs are, so it's best to read their website before stopping by. However, once you've done that, the employees there are helpful and quick to take your donations!
