Talk about "finding your Sweet Spot!!" This is one of our favorite stops whenever we are in St. Simon's! It is always a treat when we stop in to this fun shop. Colorful candies and delicious smelling treats immediately greet you whenever you walk in the door! We first started coming here when our kiddos were little and it was kind of like walking into Willy Wonka's factory! Over the years, it seems to me that these folks are always ready to try something new, whether it is a chocolate-covered Rice Krispie treat or a new novelty candy. If you're in St Simons this place is a must. Really cute place, had a ton of selection, and friendly service. It's right on Mallery so easy to pop in and get something. Street parking was free and a great area to walk around. We had a coconut/chocolate macaroon and it was great. They also had a ton of other specialty candy, cupcakes, and ice cream. several times shopping here it is noticed that on any purchase you are automatically charged a 4% fee, not compensating for a credit card usage / swipe fee, no this is when paying with cash money ( U.S. currency ). and the 4% fee is pre tax, meaning you pay tax on the 4% charge. there is no signage anywhere in the business telling the customer of the 4% fee, and they do not verbally tell you of it. when questioning the employees they can not tell you what the 4% is being charged for, but can only tell you it is automatic, mandated and required, and can not be removed. they send you with what ever you are purchasing to the cashier at the exit of the store, where there is located a tip jar, to add insult to injury. in todays times for the owners of this business to treat their customers in this fashion is horrible, and in my opinion shows they don't care about you. I always return the item, canceling the transaction. I am in the process of notifying the proper state authority of this misguided fee they are charging their customers. read more

I LOVE sweets and this is one of my most favorite shops I have ever discovered!! I had so much fun in this store! I took a ton of pics for your viewing pleasure J All of the ice cream, chocolate, candy apples etc are made fresh in house! It was heaven on earth! They also have tons of other candy items made in house throughout the two room candy shop. When you walk in, there is all the ice cream, chocolates and candy/caramel apples on your right and then various candies on the left. Towards the end of the room has an entry way into a second part of the shop filled with all kinds of classic, unique and nostalgic candies. There was a table in that second room where a family was sitting and enjoying their ice cream together. As far as I can recall that was the only table inside that was available. It was so much fun and I cannot wait to come back! Even if you don't plan on buying anything, I highly encourage you to at least walk through and check out all the unique items. If you are a tourist, I would say that this is a MUST visit type of place. My friend and I had just eaten lunch so I was too full to try the ice cream, but will certainly do that the next time I am in town. Many shops nearby have signs up asking you to enjoy your ice cream before entering the store, so keep that in mind before you buy. There was a restroom which is always a plus too. I was there on a Wednesday afternoon and there was plenty of parking available which made walking around the neighborhood very convenient. There were a couple ladies working which who were so nice and I think they really enjoyed seeing how excited the store had me feeling lol. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!! read more

I love ice cream! If it's not Blue Bell, then I prefer locally made stuff. I saw the sign on the front that they make their own ice cream (with the exception of sherbet and Superman) and was sold. I apologized to the employee ahead of time stating that I was going to be an annoying customer because I wanted to try three different flavors: banana pudding, Georgia peach cobbler and the key lime pie. I got a small cup for $4 but had her do half of the banana pudding and half of the cobbler because I couldn't make up my mind. The ice cream here (including the key lime that I tried) is not overly sweet but more on the creamy side. The cobbler that goes inside the ice cream is also made here and was delicious on its own. read more

This is a sweet tooth's heaven. They offer an array of treats and confections. The ice cream though is what all the talk is about. This place offered some amazing unique flavors that are all homemade. This is a great sweets shop!!!!! Anything you can think up they create. Rice Krispy treats stuffed in ice cream cone, dipped in chocolate, and decorated to look like a huge ice cream cone. This is a great shop but there is absolutely no one helping to account for COVID precautions at all. The place was packed to the max last night with little to no room to move and there were maybe 1% of the people wearing masks (which me and my family were the 1%). My husband was very excited to visit this place since he has a super sweet tooth. Overall- the experience was subpar. There really weren't that much candy. The fudge did LOOK delicious, but we did not try it to say if it was or not. The ice cream cost $5.00 for a medium was chalky and almost tasteless. I ended up throwing mine away after a bite. It was definitely not worth the calories. Additionally, what made this experience even worse was the customer service from the staff. The two female staff members last night looked annoyed that we were there. They were short with us and it appeared as if they were bothered by us trying to decide on a flavor of ice cream. First off, when we walked in, there were several customers and only one clerk. I didn't think anything of it until after several minutes. Finally after most of the customers had been waited on, another clerk came out from the back and acted like it really was an inconvenience to her to have to wait on someone. We bought a pound of various flavors of fudge and one chocolate covered praline. If my review had been based only only the praline, it would have been 5 stars!! That was the best sweet that I have ever had. Oh my. It was to die for!! Now the fudge.... You should pass it by. We picked out the chocolate walnut, the cinnamon, the peanut and one other that I can't remember (we threw all of them away). They tasted very old. I think since it is the off season, they probably don't have as much turn over and just keep it in the showcase until it sells, no matter how long it has been in there. Sweet tooth dream come true. The amount and variety of baked goods is astounding and mesmerizing. I only wish there were names or descriptions on them all. I had so many questions but eventually narrowed it down to the ooey gooey butter cake. Beyond amazing. Will be back to take more treats home to the family. So many home made d fashioned treats. Absolutely loved the turtle brownie and ooey gooey cake. The store felt like a blast from the past and we enjoyed every moment of our trip.

We went here 2 days in a row and first got a Biscoff graham and M&m fudge. The graham was good but would want a bit more Biscoff on it. The m&m fudge was a good chocolate fudge(not too sweet) with the candy pieces on top. The key lime fudge was really good and tangy but was a little too sweet. I could only have a little but it was good. The cream cheese danish was good but not all that. read more

Visiting St Simon's Island is always a treat. It's a nice little resort island with little shops, a nice public pier, restaurants and of course this candy and bakery shop. There was a wide variety of chocolate candies in 3 cases. You name it, they had it. I bought some pralines and my friend bought toffee and fudge. There was a Great selection of ice cream. I found the pralines a bit pricy at $21 per lb. my praline was good but not worth the price. I think I will just stick to ice cream next time. read more

Lately their ice cream is nothing to write home about. My favorite is the butter pecan. I am giving them 2 stars because when I ordered a waffle bowl it was stale. It is not any fun when you spend almost $7.00 for a ice cream and the waffle is old. The ice cream didn't look very fresh like it It used to be. 5 stars for an awesome sweets shop. St. Simons has one of those cute little downtowns with lots of fun mom and pop shops. While most of those shops involve ocean-related items (i.e. seafood, seashells, etc.), it's nice to be able to check out a place that has a little more of that Southern Savannah vibe. St. Simons Sweets did just that on my last trip. St. Simons is a fun little sweets shop that specializes in unique and large candies. You walk inside this fun purple door to get an open-concept area with a candy display cases on the right and various shelves with candy on the left and in a room in the back, including what is apparently the world's largest gummy bear. The display case has a wide range of candy, baked goods, fudge, ice cream, and other treats. During my visit to St Simons, I was feeling in the mood for a Reese's-related item. I looked through their case and found two sweets that fit the bill: a pretzel made out of Reese's Pieces and an actual pretzel stick with Reese's Pieces stuck on with caramel and chocolate. While the Reese's Pieces Pretzel was cute and fun, the Reese's stick was absolutely AMAZING. While Savannah has a similar sweets shop that uses M&M's, the Reese's stick was the perfect combination of salty and chocolately. It was so good that I went and bought several more, and I tried to get my wife to let me stop back by during our next trip up to Savannah (my waistline is lucky that she objected to going an hour out of our way just for candy). While there are tons of fun candies to try, the Reese's stick and ice cream (always a winner) stand out the items to get. Overall, St. Simons Sweets is an awesome sweets store that provides awesome treats and the Savannah experience in a little shop right near the ocean. If you happen to stop by St. Simons Island, make sure you check out this shop in between eating shrimp and buying ships in a bottle. You won't regret it. read more

Love this place! We usually make at least one trip here every time we're on the island! This trip, we made two! Both times were a great experience! The place is usually crowded when you go, but the staff is friendly, helpful and get you in and out pretty fast no matter the crowd size. This past trips we enjoyed - ice cream, a cupcake, chocolate covered pretzel, chocolate covered marshmallow, Rocky Road fudge, a coconut praline and a chocolate covered praline. Last time we went to SSI, I am pretty sure we went here at least 3 times. Maybe it was the heat and humidity that made that Ice Cream taste so good- but I doubt it. Even my husband really enjoyed it, and he is not much for sweets. My favorite flavor is the Chocolate ice cream with Oreos. Good ice cream with lots of options, plus other sweets! I enjoyed cookies and cream, and my girlfriend loved the red velvet (both perfect in the waffle cone). Bottled sodas, and a cool spot right by the pier. I've been in in winter and in Summer many times and it's perfect at both times but it's most fun in the summer of course! It took me forever [and several samples] to settle on the peach cobbler [when in Georgia, y'all] but the gentleman helping me was incredibly patient and the stuff is to die for. The sweet smell attracts you from walking down the side walk so you must enter! This is your local ice cream, candy, and fudge shop in the village. The interior is colorful and bright with candy in every direction you look. They have treats like chocolate covered pretzels, sand dollars, fudge of many flavors, ice cream, and candy...including a 30lb gummy bear! So delicious. It was big so i only ate half last night. There was a ton of icing. The cake was moist. Mom and Dad had the vanilla cupcake with vanilla icing. We live here and didn't even know about St. Simons Sweets until recently. Now we are hooked. I usually try the samples and I have constantly been surprised by how good things are that I would never have tried. For instance, the Pecan Crisp, Smores, chocolate covered potato chips (I never would have tried these without two people telling me I absolutely had to try them), apple cake, german chocolate cupcake, divinity (the best in the world), chocolate fudge (the creamiest fudge anywhere), dark chocolate covered walnuts (I'm addicted to them), and really lots more.
