Lost count of how many times we've visited the bistro, so as you can imagine, it's up there with my favourite places to eat. We started our evening in the new bar connected to the restaurant which was quaint and had a nice atmosphere, not too loud or too busy, although service was a little slow, but never the less very friendly. We then moved upstairs to the bistro, service was excellent as usual and seemed to be something for everyone on the menu. Our starters ranged from artichoke soup, smoked salmon, scallops and pigeon, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed, evident by the silence that came across the table as soon as food arrived. Mains consisted of mushroom risotto, John Dory (my choice which was delicious) and various cuts of beef, the onglet seemingly the favourite. We squeezed in a few desserts, mostly sampling the ice creams and sorbets, but the sticky toffee pudding was also a highlight for those lucky few that had sufficient stomach space left. All in all, a great meal, highly recommend and will be visiting again. read more
