History
Established in 2010.
We retired from working and raising our family in Banff , Alberta. Doug worked as a National Park Warden and Dale as a high school teacher. Doug grew up Kimberley, in the East Kootenays, fished the St Marys River and played on this land where we are now located. We built our new home on our dream land which is 15 acres on the banks of the St Marys River . Living here allows us to continue our lifestyle of fishing, rafting, skiing, hiking, biking, hunting etc. We built the B&B section in conjunction to our home so that it would serve a two-fold purpose: first of all to meet the needs of our B&B business and also to house family when they come for a visit. We enjoy meeting people from other lands and cultures as well as our neighbours in Canada and the USA. We are having a great time and have met countless wonderful people with whom we can share local knowledge and a love of the area.
Meet the Business Owner: Dale and Doug M.
Dale and Doug , are retired and we look forward to welcoming you to our new home and bed and breakfast. Doug grew up in Kimberley and is retired from 35 years as a Park Warden with Parks Canada in Banff and Waterton Lakes National Parks and Dale is retired from teaching. We look forward to sharing our interests in the outdoors and East Kootenay Valley. Doug is an avid fly fisher, hiker and skier and is happy to share his knowledge of the area, river and ski runs with you. We'll both strive to make your stay meaningful, relaxing and pleasant.
We moved to the East Kootenays to return home. We have enjoyed visiting family, camping, fishing and hiking throughout our "career" years and knew this was where we wanted to settle. The four distinct seasons allow us to pamper ourselves enjoying our favorite activities and we want to share this special place with others, hence our new bed and breakfast venture. We enjoy meeting people from all over the world and sharing our world with them.
