It was my first time in the store and they had lots of nice items. I did have questions about some items I wanted to purchase, but was never acknowledged the entire time. I walked through the store from the dishes, clothing, to the furniture side. One tall dark haired woman walked past me at least 4 times in the store but only spoke to my husband across the store a couple of times. I was very sad when I left the store. He told me so much about this store and I was excited to get there. Not sure what happened here, but I wonder if it was because we are an interracial couple that I was never acknowledged, but my husband was.

And some clothing, of course, and accessories. You have to wander around a bit to see everything as it's not grouped all together by categories. Some prices seemed a little high, but it is for a charity. They do offer sale discounts on different days on different items. And Wednesday is the senior day for 25% off. We did observe some local shoppers using a loyalty card as well. This card gives a discount to the users, but I'm not sure of the details. We didn't buy anything here when we visited, but as at all thrift stores the inventory changes often.

And happy with some of the name brands they were finding. I imagine this is on a route for the "ladies that lunch" to make the journey from West Palm to find a bargain. To fund their mission, Treasure Coast Hospice operates a thrift store in Stuart which I have previously reviewed and this newer location in Port St Lucie. The store is located in a strip mall. It is one large room with racks of clothing, small pieces of furniture, household goods, collectibles, holiday items, books, small appliances, jewelry, and accessories. Everything was neat, clean, and attractively arranged. Prices were very fair and they had an additional sale on green tag clothes which were an additional 50 percent off, 50 percent off shoes, and 20 percent off pictures. If you were lucky enough to find a yellow tag clothing item, they were only $1. They had some other sales as well so that almost everything in the store was additionally discounted. I really wish I had the room for the watermelon serving dish. I also loved the little doggie creamer. They had a lot of vintage items which also caught my eye. This is a great organization which you can come out and support by shopping their stores and donating to them. Also you can help save the planet by keeping items out of the landfill. Thrifting can do a community a lot of good.

Fortunately I found this fabulous thrift store from the Jensen Beach Community Church just a few doors down. Proceeds from this thrift store supports the Shepherd's Pantry providing food for those in need, a meeting home for Al Anon, Alcoholic's Anonymous & Narcotic's Anonymous, Indiantown Boys & Girls Club, and Habitat for Humanity. This thrift store is large with two long rooms filled with furniture, small appliances, linens, household goods, holiday decorations, clothing, accessories, etc.. I absolutely fell in love with a 1920's prohibition era wooden vanity that is just waiting for the right person to restore it and bring it back to life. They also had tea cups in my inherited Royal Rose pattern. Everything in the store was well organized, well priced, and in good condition. The volunteers who were working were friendly and helpful. I loved the sweet botanicals at the Enchanted Forest, an Egyptian sarcophagus and chest, a playful monkey crawling across a bar, and the vintage cookie jars and glassware. Every year the Hibiscus house provides services to 1,800 children and families in St. Lucie and Indian River Counties. To pay for their programs, the Hibiscus House operates the Hibiscus Treasure House Thrift Shop located at the base of the Roosevelt Bridge. The 5,000 foot thrift store is run by volunteers. Inside you can find clothing, accessories, small appliances, furniture, household goods, toys, books, and collectibles. The sale of donations to Hibiscus Treasure House provides money for their programs as well as supplies the Hibiscus Children's Center's residential facilities with the items the children may need like clothing, baby items, furniture, toys, games, and movies. Families in need and children aging out of foster care can also obtain vouchers to shop at the thrift store. This was my first visit to this store and I was impressed by both the mission of this charity and the excellent store they run. I was able to fill a bag with toys for my classroom and holiday decorations for $7. When I was checking out I mentioned what I was purchasing the items for and they gave me an educator's discount.
