Great school for both Spiritual and academic growth. Love the idea of uniforms, kids seem to enjoy it.

Graduated in 2000!!…read more I had a good h.s. experience, BV is a diverse group of kids with great tolerance for all kinds. It may be in a "yuppie" area, but BV accepts all kinds equally and fairly! I'm not saying kids didn't get picked on (cuz I know I did) but I feel at least when I went there, it wasn't so cliquey, so yes the cheerleaders hung out w/ the jocks, but that's h.s.) but the class of '99 & 2000 were very close and I feel we were a good group :) Academically we rocked as well as our band....sports...ehhh, not so much lol I had some favorite teacher's. Miller, Mr. Waugh, Mr. Gould Mrs. Yost, Mr. Fischer, and Mrs. Rose were all awesome!! Good memories!!!!

Old, OSHA violations in the cafeteria & stage, bland, food that is very easily the worst out of any school I've ever seen, unappealing visuals, confusing layout, unregulated racism and bigotry among students, and a lack of school spirit. The school staff are alright, not bad. Generally helpful. Some have passion. Don't take the painting class, the teacher is notoriously rude and unhelpful. It gets the job done, but if you're looking to move to the Sacramento area, I would consider looking into adjacent cities with better schools.

Wow ! I can't believe I'm the first one to write a review! Well, it has been nearly twenty years…read more(gasp) since I went here, but oh well, may as well drag up some old memories and write about it. When I went here, it was an okay place. There was the library, which I probably set foot in maybe twice in four years. Of course there was the cafeteria, which seemed fuddy duddy, gym room, etc. Del Campo never had its own football stadium so all of our home games were played at San Juan High School. It was kind of a drag, but that's how it goes. Computers were still a new fangled thing, but we had Apple computers in Yearbook. In fact, a lot of my computer skills were the things I learned there. French class was my absolute favorite. Madame Eisner was the best! I took a trip to Europe with her too. My English teachers were fantastic, in particular Mr. Cody. High school years were not "the best years of my life", but college years definitely were. With that in mind, maybe I'm not the most unbiased person to write this review, but isn't that reviews are meant for?

However they did not address that kids with low gpa's would not be able to attend prom before hand. My best friend suffers from adhd and chronic migraines so it makes it difficult for her to complete school tasks. Because of the school's late notice of the gpa rule she had already bought her dress and now she's unfortunately not able to attend. This school is ableist. L School. Not to mention she's depressed.

No one is a number here. Faculty and staff know students well and are very invested in students' intellectual and emotional growth. The school has a wonderful theater program and everyone who wishes to participate may. This is also the case for all other extracurricular offerings -- Speech and Debate, Athletics, etc. I don't think enough people are aware this wonderful school is here, and that needs to change. This is the kind of school that changes and enriches your life.

I want to be clear that this review is only for the summer camp, as my daughter attended two…read moreseparate weeks at Sacramento Waldorf School throughout the summer. Her first week was absolutely packed with fun activities. They did tie-dye, a color run, and even took a hike to the park. She absolutely loved it, and it felt like there was always something going on. The second week was a little different. There didn't seem to be as many planned activities, and she mentioned having quite a bit more downtime. It wasn't necessarily bad, but after such a fun and activity-filled first week, I think we were both expecting a little more. The campus itself is really nice, and one thing I appreciated was that there weren't a ton of kids in her camp group. I want to say there were around eight kids, which made it feel smaller and more personal. They also had a really fun potluck, and I've heard they sometimes take bike rides to a local coffee shop, which sounds like such a fun little adventure for the kids. Overall, my daughter enjoyed her time there, especially that first week. I just wish the activities had been a little more consistent from week to week. If both weeks had been like the first one, this easily would have been a 5-star experience. Helpful tip: If you're signing your child up for multiple weeks, just know that the activities may vary quite a bit depending on the week.

The teaching staff is fantastic, they understand kids all have different needs and they go far above and beyond their typical teaching day. We especially want to give a shout out to the middle school team... what a dynamic trio they are :) Here is a little excerpt of an email we sent them personally: "While it may not seem that you are doing anything above what you normally do in a day I want you to know that for us, as a family, you are going above and beyond. Teaching is not just delivery of content, teaching is compassion, empathy and sometimes its talking nervous moms and dads off of a ledge (speaking for myself especially). You have together made this year another learning year and you have treated **** and our family with empathy, kindness, and love. Thank you for all you do. I wouldn't have **** at any other place and I wish all parents could have the experiences that we have with the three of you." Thank you St Mel for the fantastic learning, experiences, and life lessons!! Thank you Mrs. Nagel for keeping all of what happens at St Mel going strong from year to year... you are a gracefully intelligent leader.
