Even some teachers and adults aren't trustworthy, but TRUST me when I tell you, don't say anything that you know that will get worse, I promise your life will turn into hell.

Well, it has been nearly twenty years…read more(gasp) since I went here, but oh well, may as well drag up some old memories and write about it. When I went here, it was an okay place. There was the library, which I probably set foot in maybe twice in four years. Of course there was the cafeteria, which seemed fuddy duddy, gym room, etc. Del Campo never had its own football stadium so all of our home games were played at San Juan High School. It was kind of a drag, but that's how it goes. Computers were still a new fangled thing, but we had Apple computers in Yearbook. In fact, a lot of my computer skills were the things I learned there. French class was my absolute favorite. Madame Eisner was the best! I took a trip to Europe with her too. My English teachers were fantastic, in particular Mr. Cody. High school years were not "the best years of my life", but college years definitely were. With that in mind, maybe I'm not the most unbiased person to write this review, but isn't that reviews are meant for?

My best friend suffers from adhd and chronic migraines so it makes it difficult for her to complete school tasks. No one is a number here. Faculty and staff know students well and are very invested in students' intellectual and emotional growth. The school has a wonderful theater program and everyone who wishes to participate may. This is also the case for all other extracurricular offerings -- Speech and Debate, Athletics, etc. I don't think enough people are aware this wonderful school is here, and that needs to change. I decided to send him to Bella Vista Sophomore year where his grades were better but he got caught up in the social aspects. He came to me wanting independent studies. I decided to give El Sereno a shot. My son did so WELL here. He stuck to his studies and graduated a semester early! The counselors are great and really in tune with each students' needs. As a parent, I cannot recommend this school for students who are in general education but also…read morerequire additional support through an IEP. Our experience this year was extremely disappointing. When my son's mental health began to decline, I reached out repeatedly for support. Emails often went unanswered, requests for assistance were delayed, and an emergency IEP meeting I requested was never scheduled. During a very serious crisis, I felt abandoned by the very people who were supposed to help. My son experienced ongoing bullying from peers regarding his appearance and weight. Despite our concerns, he felt isolated, unheard, and unsupported. Over time, he began to believe that he was failing both academically and socially. Rather than feeling encouraged, he felt ridiculed and invisible. The most heartbreaking part is that my son experienced a mental health crisis on school grounds and later required extensive therapy and medical treatment. During that time, not a single staff member reached out to check on his wellbeing. The lack of compassion was shocking. Because of missed communication and lack of support during his recovery, my son was also unable to participate in important end-of-year activities, including the promotion walk. Thankfully, my son received the care he needed through private medical providers and is doing much better today. His recovery is due to the dedication of his therapists, doctors, and family. I hope the school takes a hard look at how it supports vulnerable students. Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported, especially when they are struggling. Parents of students who require additional support should ask detailed questions about how the school handles bullying, mental health concerns, and IEP accommodations before enrolling.

There wasn't much diversity in the school either, at least when I went there. The school as well doesn't handle bullying well. Not to say there isn't teachers who care about their job and their students (like Mr McClure) but overall, if you plan to send your child here, don't. There are better schools in the area
