Her Kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Broaddus and the teacher's helper was Miss Amy, who is probably the sweetest woman you'll ever meet! Instead of the usual school supply list, we were asked to bring donations for the classroom. For school lunch she was given the option of a school lunch or to bring her own and we love packing her lunch! Her class of 26 students had so many fun themed days, our daughter's favorite, jammie and stuffed animal day! Always lots of art work brought home and I have them to thank for helping our daughter make so many great friends, encouraging her to read, count and write! And of course you cannot forget music time, PE, recess and free time! They even went on a field trip to the Sacramento Zoo! You cannot give less than 5 stars for schools who are giving your child the gift of an education! Yesterday was the last day of school and we're so proud of our soon to be first grader! I am quite literally stunned right now. We decided to give notice today at La Bella because our…read morealmost 3.5 year old son has told us he's not happy there and wants to go to a new school. We got a phone call last week from the school administrator, Cecilia, that our son has been having behavior issues - aggressive towards the other kids, breaking toys and lying about it, etc. - and my hubby and I spent some time talking with our son over the next couple days about his behavior at school when he finally admitted he's not happy there and that's why he's making poor choices. Our son is not aggressive with other kids in any other environment. We take him to the park, to the trampoline place, and he spends time with close friends and plays appropriately 95% of the time. We do have some defiance issues at home, he can be somewhat destructive with his own toys, but he's 3 and we're working on them. It's an ever changing process. A lot of parents and families we interact with comment on how is it we can correct the majority of our son's behavior with a simple "No thank you, please make a better choice"? Does that sound like a problem child to you? After he moved into the 3 year old room, they had such a high turnover in teachers that the 3 year olds had three different teachers in 4 months. While our son tells us he likes his current teacher and that she's a good teacher, we feel he's just not bonding with her in the way he needs (not that it matters now, I found out when I dropped him off this morning that she left last week and no one told us). So, like I said, we put in our notice today. Cecilia called to say she got our note. It was her next set of comments that have me so stunned. She asks, "What are you going to do when you run out of preschools? Or how about when he goes to public school and tells you he doesn't want to go to that school and you move him again. You'll eventually run out of schools and have to change districts. All you're teaching him is he'll get anything he wants. I respect your decision, but I don't agree with it." She respects our decision? Do those words sound like she respects our decision? What's wrong with a simple "I got your notice and am sorry to see you go, but I wish you all the best." If there was any doubt in my mind if we were doing the right thing by pulling him out, I am confident in my decision now. Our son deserves a positive discipline approach to his care, not an environment where he's punished for his actions. There's a big difference between discipline and punishment. We are currently looking for a new school if anyone who reads this has a recommendation for us.

Right after my phone conversation with her, I went straight to go pick up my son and never looked back! Just days after leaving La Bella, at his new school, my son was back to his old happy self! And I could see that he's actually learning new stuff every day. All his teachers love him and everyday he is super excited to go to school (this was never the case at La Bella). I regret ever choosing La bellal for my son, but very glad that I got him out before she drove him and our whole family crazy! Also the owner would like to say that all her staff have at least 4 yr college degree and a talented chef and he/she prepares only ihealthy and fresh food for the kids ...NOT!...Check everyone's credentials and read all the other reviews about the school and the owner, everyone!

Teaching is not just delivery of content, teaching is compassion, empathy and sometimes its talking nervous moms and dads off of a ledge (speaking for myself especially). You have together made this year another learning year and you have treated **** and our family with empathy, kindness, and love. Thank you for all you do. Watching her learn to read in Spanish has been so rewarding - she was performing well above her peer level and entered kindergarten already ready for first grade. They don't just educate but they genuinely love and care for them as if they were their own family. They are completely dedicated and having two children go through the program has only reinforced how great the environment is. The Montessori approach combined with Spanish immersion has given both our daughters such a strong foundation. This is not a school, but more like an overpriced and unqualified daycare. When I informed the administration of my complaints, they proceeded to defend their inadequate staff due to nepotism and did not refund my money for the month my kids did not attend due to bullying and poor teaching conditions. The elementary program has one teacher, Ms. Sangeetha, who encourages bullying, shame and treats her students with humiliation, as described by my 6 year old daughter at the time (she is 7 now and has vivid memories and stories of the terrible situation at that school). There is no learning, no homework or evidence that your child is even learning. I also reported Ms Sangeetha's inappropriate behavior of inviting my daughter on field trips without parental consent and not scheduling any meetings with us as parents to review my daughter's progress. My second child was in the toddler children's house with Ms Eva, who from my understanding, is not a Montessori trained teacher but rather simply the mother of another student in Ms Sangeetha's class. I reported Ms Eva and her assistant as being cold and ineffective. My 4 year old son informed us that both teachers left the children alone for long periods of time. He had a horrible experience and felt very neglected. He had a fall and giant knot/bump on his head on his first week there. Ms Eva also was an emotional wreck, who appeared to be crying on a daily basis. The staff that is hired here is questionable. There are "field trips" planned without parent consent or permission slips. My daughter had an accident at school and soiled herself and not one staff member alerted us or helped her. Our experience at this school was horrible and I am considering to take legal action based on the money that was taken from me and the neglect faced by my kids.
