The best part about this school is the staff working. All of the coaches and volunteers working in this FOLSOM community are phenomenal. They all are fantastic with children. They work really hard to be as patient and helpful as possible- with all the different personalities and ages of each child. They all understand the energy and compassion that each individual needs. Our experience this year was extremely disappointing. When my son's mental health began to decline, I reached out repeatedly for support. Emails often went unanswered, requests for assistance were delayed, and an emergency IEP meeting I requested was never scheduled. During a very serious crisis, I felt abandoned by the very people who were supposed to help. My son experienced ongoing bullying from peers regarding his appearance and weight. Despite our concerns, he felt isolated, unheard, and unsupported. Over time, he began to believe that he was failing both academically and socially. Rather than feeling encouraged, he felt ridiculed and invisible. The most heartbreaking part is that my son experienced a mental health crisis on school grounds and later required extensive therapy and medical treatment. During that time, not a single staff member reached out to check on his wellbeing. The lack of compassion was shocking. Because of missed communication and lack of support during his recovery, my son was also unable to participate in important end-of-year activities, including the promotion walk. Thankfully, my son received the care he needed through private medical providers and is doing much better today. His recovery is due to the dedication of his therapists, doctors, and family. I hope the school takes a hard look at how it supports vulnerable students. Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported, especially when they are struggling. Parents of students who require additional support should ask detailed questions about how the school handles bullying, mental health concerns, and IEP accommodations before enrolling.

Her first week was absolutely packed with fun activities. They did tie-dye, a color run, and even took a hike to the park. She absolutely loved it, and it felt like there was always something going on. The second week was a little different. There didn't seem to be as many planned activities, and she mentioned having quite a bit more downtime. It wasn't necessarily bad, but after such a fun and activity-filled first week, I think we were both expecting a little more. The campus itself is really nice, and one thing I appreciated was that there weren't a ton of kids in her camp group. I want to say there were around eight kids, which made it feel smaller and more personal. They also had a really fun potluck, and I've heard they sometimes take bike rides to a local coffee shop, which sounds like such a fun little adventure for the kids. Overall, my daughter enjoyed her time there, especially that first week. I just wish the activities had been a little more consistent from week to week. If both weeks had been like the first one, this easily would have been a 5-star experience. Helpful tip: If you're signing your child up for multiple weeks, just know that the activities may vary quite a bit depending on the week.

Being a graduate of Cordova High, Class of Eternal Youth, I remember running laps around the parks's duck pond and enjoying all the shady trees and nature during gym class. The campus is very open and sprawl. Multiple buildings housing difference class subjects , are surrounded by mature evergreens, shady leaf trees, lush green grass, and neatly paved walkways spotted with benches to relax on. It's a good size campus with lots of room for sports activities. I saw a huge base field, football stadium, track, basketball, tennis courts , and more. It's pretty fantastic that the city of Rancho Cordova has such a well maintained campus. I see it as a positive atmosphere where young minds can thrive. Various athletes and media people have graduated from Cordova and moved onto huge success. You know Lester Holt from NBC... yup successful Cordova grad. And you know there's obviously me... :)
