The food isn't always the most consistent with the ratio of gravy and dill sauce on the poutine. Sometimes it's soaking in a lake of gravy and other times there isn't nearly enough but will have enough dill sauce for 4 poutines. Wow let me tell you that good service and hot food is not what you'll get here, I'd give zero star but unfortunately that is not a choice, the last 2 times me and my family members came here, we have received awful services extremely long wait times on getting food and cold food that was supposed to be hot. It seems like they hire any piece of garbage off the streets nowadays, seriously do not come here unless you want all your food to come out cold and the servers to be absolutely rude and call you names. Speak to Horrible management, along side the servers that call customers fu-cking bitchs infront of people, and dosen't know the difference between explaining something and belittling. If a server serves cold food and thinks that a customer will not complain about it, you clearly have something else coming. And if you don't know the difference between a salamander and an oven and that they are not the same thing, then don't argue with someone who does. just for thought a salamander is a broiler and and oven is an oven, you don't need a degree in culinary to know the difference or just look it up on that phone that you have glued to your face before arguing with a customers over cold food, and when you state that my food was put in a Salamander to heat up my food, then don't be surprised when you get a complaint about cold food. Also when you deep fry food, the inside would be hot even if the outside was cold, even if it sat for 5 minutes if it was done properly, and if they use a salamander it only heats the top of the food not the whole thing. Now I'm contributing to your education, that is called belittling, these servers that you have in your establishment are a bunch of entitled kids that are so rude and think they know everything, And wow anyone who pays for hot food wants their food to be hot, so If food comes out cold expect the customers to be upset because you can't do your job properly, hence you are a server who serves customers and is supposed to take care of the customers and serve them hot food, that the customer is are paying for. And while you the server are Shooting the sh-it with your coworkers instead of doing job, which is the exact words that came out of the servers mouth as she started, "I watched them pull it out of the salamander myself while I was sho-oting the shit with them", why our seconed course took over 45 minutes to make nachos with deep fried chicken that was cold and ceasar salad with grilled chicken that also was ice cold. Hence what I said before not doing their job properly, and again a Salamanders just heat the top not all the food, Just do us all a favor and serve hot food not cold food and don't be a horrible human. If you choose to go to this place which I do not recommend at all, know that, that's what is expected. When you come to this hole in the wall, have low expectations and know that you'll get, poor service, cold food, and exceptionally bad rude people who are entitled and can't do their jobs properly. St. Louis Bar and Grill is the neighbourhood place for Chicken Wings and Beer. I was there with a buddy of mine and we had the Wing Platter and a pint of Grasshopper (an excellent wheat beer from Alberta, it was on draft) and both were excellent. Service was fast and friendly, and the free Wi-Fi was definitely a plus. The establishment is close to RIM Park and on this visit there were lots of folks there for a hockey tournament. I came here on Tuesday night for their wing night. The deal is you have to buy a drink and you can get 1lb of wings and fries for $12.99. My girlfriend told me that every time they come here the best way to have these wings is get them plain with the sauce on the side, I was definitely skeptical so we tried one with sauce and one without. Both were terrible... Way too much salt and the wings were very well overdone. The ones with the sauce were not much better but I still finished all the wings because....wings. My friend and I went to St. Louis for lunch with our children. We got there at 11:30 and we were the first nd only ones there. The restaurant quickly filled up and people that arrived after us were getting their food. After waiting about 45 mins, my friend's food and her kids food came out. The manager said my food and my children's food would be right out. 20 minutes later...my friend and her kids were finished eating. My food still hadn't come out. We spoke with the manager who didn't seem to care at all. She didn't offer any concessions to us and was offering multiple excuses about how the server was overwhelmed. I totally understand that patios are busy right now, however we were the only ones there for about 30 minutes. The manager's apology was insincere. Our kids meals were supposed to come with ice cream. The server didn't even offer to bring it. I will not be back. read more

Not a big fan of the franchise but I didn't really have a choice since I was going with a group. I was however, excited to see a nice patio as well as some new items from their menu. St. Louis Chicken Poutine - Not sure if I was incredibly hungry (will get to that later) or if this was just really good. It may have actually been a combination of both. The serving was actually quite generous, especially for its price which was pretty reasonable. One of the reasons I had actually picked this item from the menu. IF I were to ever come back to St. Louis Bar & Grill (choice or not), I'd order this again. Now comes the service review. It could've been way better. Everytime we experience slow or poor service, I'd like to give the staff the benefit of a doubt and would usually first assume that they're short staffed. Now, this is a big weekend in Waterloo - it's the weekend the city is hosting the 2016 Volleyball Canada championship. This is probably the biggest franchise name near the venue so they should have been more than prepared for big parties. The waitress we had (didn't catch her name) already seemed to have been in an irritable mood and it's not like our party had many requests. She just made it seem like she was being inconvenienced every time. Her demeanour towards my friend who had a request to substitute a burger ingredient was also quite negative. She basically didn't care to even try or try to even understand what the request was. If she were a good waitress or at least showed that she cared to do her job, she could've at least say "I"ll check with the cooks.." rather than trying to find excuses to just say no. In the end, my friend told her to forget the request and ordered the simplest burger. Then came the wait time. We had waited for the food for about an hour and not once did she come by to apologize for the wait and explain the reason for the delay. If you can't give the reason for the massive delay, at least apologize to your customers. Also, try to come more than just once or twice to offer drinks ESPECIALLY when the food is taking forever. Finally the food came and we were good. Little did we know, a member of our party had spoken with the manager and explained the situation. She came back saying the bill was covered and that she had only paid for the alcoholic beverages purchased. Even though there was this misunderstanding and not to mention awkwardness, part of the party was still willing to drop an "extra" tip. However, the same waitress came back with an even negative service and attitude that she ended up losing the very little tip she was about to receive. This was due to the fact that she told my friend, who had asked for a take-out box, that "you can't take away food that wasn't paid for". I first thought that it was because she had thought my friend had ordered the AYCE wing deal, which would make sense, but it was because the meal(s) were not to be paid for, for the poor service. Her delivery just created more drama and personally, I didn't see the point in telling the member of the party she couldn't take the food. I mean, what are they gonna do? Re-serve the leftovers? It just seemed a little too spiteful. If anything, the Manager on duty should've addressed that concern to the party, rather than the waitress. Was just a really disappointing experience which is too bad considering the tournament isn't over and that they basically lost a lot of potential business because of that. read more

Wings were sub par at best, did the 19.99 all you can eat which is really just 2.5 lbs of wings, first you get 1.5 pounds and fries then 1 pound and then 1/2 pound to finish Not very much sauce, very dry tasting wings like they had been fried to long or something. I really wanted to like this place since it is within walking distance from my house. The beer selection is good but the food has never been more than 2/5. Service is standard. The wings, though, which should be excellent at a place like this, need a lot of work in both chicken selection and sauce selection. I actually haven't been back since last spring when they decided to play the NBA playoffs instead of the NHL playoffs. A group of a my best friends and I went to St. Louis Bar and grill for a birthday dinner. We were drawn to St. Louis for the historical "all you can eat boneless chicken wing January deal". The deal immediately caught our eye as we scoured the internet for cheap deal that would satisfy our lust for wings. Not to mention the countless choices of sauces ranging from hot as hell to salt and pepper, it was glorious... too bad this would be our undoing. We were saddened to see a mandatory drink purchase in order to be allowed the deal, but it was a small price to pay for our ever growing appetite that could only be quenched by bottomless wings. We arrived at the establishment giddy with excitement and hopes ever high. The moment we walked through the door we were hit with what smelt like weeks worth of old wing sauce and stale beer. It was a shock, but hey, what wing place doesn't have its quirks. Were we ever wrong... we were greeted kindly by the hostess who brought us to our table, she gave us menus with a smile and went on her way. We immediately ripped open the menus in search of the fabled "sauce list", i was the first to find it yelling out to my fellow companions that it was on page 3 on the bottom right. The waitress came, asked us for our drink and food orders. i remember like it was yesterday, i ordered a keiths pint with 15 franks red hot wings (3 hot stars). Orders flew out at the waitress from all sides of the table, everybody too excited to hold back their order, "salt and pepper" "medium" "sheswan" it was amazing. To give her credit the waitress did a fantastic job handling the wolf pack that we were let alone the number of other tables she must have had. She went off with our orders and we were left at the table to eagerly wait for our food. The wait was long but we understood due how busy the restaurant was and how few waitresses their seemed to be, plus we were surrounded by our closest friends which always seemed to make time fly by. Our beer arrived and shortly after so did our food, we basically ripped the wings from the waitresses hands, she was lucky to pull away quickly our else she might have lost a finger or two. We all dug into our plates, it was a massacre. it wasnt until about half way through our first plate that we all looked up to eachother with concern on our faces... sure the wings were good, but something didnt seem right. my mouth was on fire, but i pushed through... to our mistake we ignored our gut and continued devouring the wings... we finished our plates and ordered a second round of wings and beer attempting to take full advantage of the bottomless wing deal but this time we were a little less enthusiastic about their arrival... i mentioned to my friends how i wasnt a huge fan of the wings and how my stomach was uneasy, they agreed with my statements.. i tried to hide the fact my mouth was on fire, causally sipping my friends water as the beer was stale and doing nothing to help the lava in my mouth or my taste buds for that matter. Our second round came and we slowly began eating again, i began on my first hot/garlic wing hoping my uneasiness would subside. to my surprise the birthday boy finished his instantly and got a third round of wings... if only i could tell him then what i knew know... I was working through my wings when it hit me... my mouth errupted in what felt like 32 fireworks being lit at the same time in my intestines. it felt like the sahara desert in my mouth, i couldnt breath let alone think of how to fix the problem that was my digestive system... my eyes were watering but through tears i reached out across the table for my beer hoping that the liquid would cool my fiery mouth and throat. i took two big gulps but was hit with the gross stale beer that was previously given to me... as the beer moved down my through my symptoms escalated, i was sweatin through my sweater, my stomach was screaming, and my mind was racing. i was in trouble... i knew i needed help and i knew i needed it now. i looked up at the rest of my table, hoping that one of my friends could drive me home to the safety of my bathroom. what i saw would have blinded the average person. in front of me was the birthday boy, hunched over crying while clunching his stomach, his girlfriend to his left had her hands draped over his pour soul trying to comfort him in his time of need. to his left were my three friends, all dousing eachother in beer and water in sad attempts to subdue the meat sweats that were ravaging their poor innocent bodies. i looked to my right where stood my friend who looked to be in some kind of trance, he was speaking jibberish, obviously dilussional from the wings, or sauce or beer, at this point it didnt matter. i knew i had to take control and get us out of there. I cried for the waitress to bring us our bill, luckily she heard me through the screams of torment and cries from my companions. I paid the bill and we drove home, the rest ill leave to the imagination. read more

I work just around the corner and came here for the first time on a Tuesday for 1/2 price wings. The place was super busy and our server was also training someone at the same time. Despite the rush hour our server was extremely attentive and knowledge about the menu, even recommended a few sauces of her choice. One of our wing orders was missing a side and she quickly fixed the problem. The wings were on sale and they even had beer on special too. Best wings in town, they also have different specials each night of the week, would definitely recommend this place. read more

Amazing!! I'm a regular and I think it's safe to say it's my default restaurant. I 100000% recommend the St. Louie's wings poutine, it's probably the best poutine I've ever had, every single time. Oh, and it's the best fries in town. It's pretty inexpensive too, so you can bring $40 for a date be able to have a wonderful meal with enough left to spoil yourself and get a drink. A very nice bar/restaurant located north of Waterloo, ON. The atmosphere is pleasant but it may be a little bit noisy when important games are on TV. I am very fussy on the taste of food and I know a good tasting sandwich when I eat one. We had the Korean bbq sandwich which was very tasty and made with high quality meat.
