Poor Communication, Unprofessional Behavior, and Unnecessary Panic…read more It took me over a year to get an appointment at this shop, as it seems to be the only local option for older sport bike repairs. The owner, Roland, is rough around the edges and lacks basic customer service skills -- but I initially gave him the benefit of the doubt, assuming he was simply busy. I had my Kawasaki ZX9 towed in for front brake and caliper repairs. I specifically asked for a quote before any work began, but instead of calling me, I had to chase him for the numbers each time. The total ended up being $1,300, which I paid in person since I couldn't pick up the bike myself due to knee surgery. I arranged for a tow company to retrieve it, gave Roland their details, and provided the pickup time. After the tow company left with my bike, Roland called to say they had used a wrecker and "didn't know what they were doing," making it sound like my bike was likely damaged. This caused me unnecessary panic -- especially since he never called me before the bike was moved. When I asked why he didn't call earlier if he was so concerned, he got angry and hung up on me. When the bike arrived, it was in perfect condition. His alarming phone call was completely unwarranted, and the stress he caused was unnecessary. While I can't yet speak to the quality of his repair work, I can say that his attitude, lack of professionalism, and poor communication were enough for me to decide I won't return. In the future, I'll tow my bike to Orlando or Tampa, where I've received skilled service and respectful treatment.

Ms. Ann is so friendly and attentive to any needs in the front of the shop. The guys in the back are great too. Mitch is one of the better metric mechanics that I've met, Jason knows HD's inside and out, while Jack has forgotten more about bikes than you or I will ever be able to cram into our pea brains. Def would recommend anyone in North Florida to stop by KD's for any of their motorcycle needs. Keep the shiny side up!

This Review is way overdue, In August 2016 my dad and I were heading towards Sturgis South Dakota…read morefrom Fort Lauderdale Florida and we ended our Trip in San DIego California. I notice in a gas station that I had a leak from my Texas Chopper. We decided to stay in this town of Starke. I was recommended from the hotel to go to Knuckle and Draggers. I met the owner and his lovely wife. Also their staff and even friends. He immediately fit me in his schedule he spend a long time with another assistant trying to find the leak. He assessed and diagnosed the problem. He told me that it would be safe to continue our trip with some specific directions. He did not charge me as a true biker looking out for each other. He knew that our trip was important for me and my dad he was a very generous man. I will never forget him. I will visit soon now that I relocated to NC. Shops and people like them are very rare finding. The town of starke is very lucky to have them. This not only reflect on good people, customer service but the sense of a great community. They have a motorcycle festival in this town I hope that everyone that reads this review give him some great business. He is an excellent mechanic very knowlegable I had my repair done and was exactly what he diagnosed. The mechanic was amazed that he gave me great adivice like that. He stated that is hard to find honest mechanics like him. Yes 5 star rating on my book. The amount of miles completed on my ride was 4100 miles with no other problems. He is the true to the biker brotherhood.
